ArmALaunch - Mod launcher for Arma 1/2
dracflamloc replied to dracflamloc's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Check the location of Armalaunch.exe and make sure you have write-access to that folder. Also please check if there is ArmaLaunch.ini in that folder, and if there is please post its contents here -
ArmALaunch - Mod launcher for Arma 1/2

What are the names of the folders that its not finding? There is no manual add feature, however there shouldn't be need of one. It lists (or should) any folder in the arma folder, that wasnt part of the arma game itself. So if theres some that aren't detecting correctly its probably a bug and I'll try to fix it -

I can change the window control colors and such. If you want do a little photoshop job on the screenshot to show me what colors you want. Also, I am announcing the release of 1.2, now with a command-line option 'quick' menu, and auto-exit after launch. In addition, Alex, I just figure I'll point out that armalaunch.exe takes less than 5Mb of RAM to run, thanks the absense of bitmap skins (which I never use in my programs). Enjoy all, link is updated on my homepage. -
People, we need more public servers that do other gametypes and missions other than Evolution and Domination. Last night I played a HOLD gametype for the first time and it was the most fun I've ever had in ArmA1 or 2. However there is only one server that is actually hosting this gametype. Can we get some diversity here? =)

Server browser: "Favorites" filter (and ability to add/remove them)
dracflamloc posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Maybe its just me, but ArmA2 seems to have more servers and players than ArmA1 did. Regardless I think it'd be nice to have a Favorites server list like so many other games have. Shouldn't be too hard to make I think =) -

Great, Imutep, if you don't mind could you have your "homepage" link for the download go to www.dracsoft.com/tech? -

I wasn't sure where to put this, so please feel free to move it where-ever it should go http://www.dracsoft.com/tech/2009/armalaunch-1-1/ ArmALaunch is a program designed to allow for the easy launch of ArmA Combat Ops with various mods and command line options. It can save multiple 'favorites' of your mod configurations so you won't need tons of desktop icons all dedicated to ArmA. To start, just run the program, and click 'Locate ARMA.EXE'. Once you've done that just activate some mods and save them as favorites, and click the launch ArmA button. Enjoy, please email me any comments/bugs/suggestions. Btw I'm aware that there may be other mod launchers out there, but I couldn't find any that felt simple enough yet did what I wanted. More options is always a good thing right? ;) Any site has my permission to host this file if they wish. My site will always have the bleeding-edge version. This has been confirmed compatible with ArmA 2 Latest version is 1.2 -
omg finally... this makes the last three weeks of hell at work go away in an instant

Mod to disable Motion Blur and Running Blur very needed
dracflamloc replied to Areon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It must be done through a shader somewhere. If the shader can be changed, the blur can be removed. I doubt they compiled the shader right into the executable. Basically the blur shader should be able to be changed so it just outputs exactly what was passed as in input. Someone who knows how to tweak Arma shaders just needs to find the motion blur shader. -
Complaints about DOF/Blur/Bloom/HDR/Cholesterol etc.etc.
dracflamloc replied to freeman23's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I completely agree with Hoak. I can't stand newer games because of this. And I refuse to believe that motion blur doesn't at least indirectly affect framerate, because at some point the computer has to calculate and render the *blurred* frame, hence taking a potentially rendered "real" frame away from computer. It *may* be slight or it may be a major hit, but with the steep requirements for this game, I think being able to turn off anything that could potentially help would be a major plus. Mathematically the frame-rate may stay the same, but as far as useful frames the human eye can see.. it definitely hurts. At this point I can't see myself playing ArmA2. It gives me motion sickness after a while (and i can go on roller coasters literally a hundred times without feeling sick). Even if it didn't give me motion sickness the game just feels fake now. As Hoak said, having AA and a smooth overall FPS is much more realistic than needing a 75% fillrate, with jaggies everywhere and overdone motion blur and DoF effects. Those effects IMO only make sense as a reaction to nearby explosions, wounding, etc and not just normal looking around and running. Also, since the motion blur affects lower FPS players even more than high, it adds an even larger disadvantage to low-fps players in multiplayer. They already have to deal with a less than desirable framerate, and now its harder for them to spot enemies, etc because their vision is blurred longer. Please fix this BI.
