I quote from the site "The airing date is around June" ;) Link: http://limnosradio.com/en/shows/limnosradio/the-dirty-dozen/ E3 2012: June 5-7, 2012 Hope we'll get something earlier than that...but I'm not too optimistic.

Cool. I guess we'll get nothing new until E3.

Hi all! Anyone having keyboard stopping to respond after loading a savegame in sp? For some reason it happens to me quite often. The only workaround I found is to kill the application in order to restart the game... I'm using Arma2 CO (1.6) (no beta) with CBA 1.0.0.180, CBA 1.0.0.8 and CBA 1.0.0.6. That's how my shortcut target looks like: -mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA;@loki_lost_key There's no other mod activated. It happens on any sp missions in Harvest Red campaign. Didn't try with the other campaigns yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Cheers

Ok then again about collision detection between human or NPC and vehicles, do you have any idea how it could look and work combined with damage and so on. For example let's assume you're "pushed" by a car a very low speed will this make you slide just like it is know or is it more likely to make you fall like with euphoria physics? Do you have any examples that demonstrate how it could look like in action? Not the euphoria physics that we all know but with "physx".

Hello! First of all I would like to apology if this has been covered already. I've now spent an half a hour looking on the forum for an answer without success, also had my thread locked (like 50% of the threads here). So here you go: I was wondering if any of you knew how physx are going to affect soldiers in case of collision with the environment (ie if something falls on you or if you're hit by other assets like vehicles)? Same question for the vehicles. Any info about how they are going to react with the environment? Can we expect visual damages after hitting something? or even bursting a tire, breaking the direction and so on? Hope you can help me to answer these questions. Cheers

Well knifes in the army are more used as a tool than a weapon. You could put it as a bayonet but clearly knifes are more use in Hollywood films than in real combat. I'm very sorry to see this tread being a disguised knife COD request while there's so much to improve in the stealth area of the game. Here's a list of few things that would actually improve stealthy missions : Ability to be concealed by grass/bushes, shadows, (camo) and a combination of this. No more super AI target localisation which basically makes the whole group instantly know where you exactly are as long as you kill one of its member, no matter how big the group is nor where they're looking at nor what method/weapon you used from a concealed place or not. Your position shouldn't be as easily compromised by distant targets when using sniper rifle or suppressed weapons from a concealed place or when using a proper camo. Also your position should not be compromised if you're using satchels! No more super AI vision which make AI to completely ignore grass or any sorts of concealment blocking their line of sight. here's an example : If this could be improved, stealthy missions would definitely be better. Actually it would improve the whole gameplay giving us the illusion we are actually fighting against AI having human abilities instead of machines.

Since we're talking about a PC title I think the "Fluid Posture" would perfectly suits. What bothers me more is the fact that I can't hit what I see without exposing myself too much or shoot at a wall instead of my target while I have a clear line of sight on it. This is due to the fire geometry (I think) which makes the bullets come out of the barrel instead of the head. Although this is perfect for AI since they can use sophisticated cover systems, I think it would be better to have this as an option for players not using track IR. This or force the player to automatically adapt its stance as soon as the barrel hits a lod when he hold the weapon in ready position. Also the option to deploy your weapon over any cover would be a must ;-)

Dx11 seems to be the ultimate tool to make realistic wounds using Multiple layers of tessellation and displacement maps: It would allow for dynamic reaction to bullets, blast, and all other stuff at the precise place of the impact.

Longer grass distance-possible by DX 10 now.
50.cal replied to Commonplace's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Well it could at least replace bump map for ground. -
2 different problems here. The geometry LOD is the most annoying problem from my point of view. Thanks to Vilas we now have a very comprehensive understanding of the problem. Many other problems are also related to this. Not only the AI shooting from positions where a human could never see anything. I have already opened a CIT about that. Just vote for it if you think it must be improved! Link : http://dev-heaven.net/issues/13917 Now about the "destructible glass" problem, if it poses a performance issue, why not just removing it? I rather have no window glasses than what we have now.

I don't know if it's the same problem as me but in this mission the Osprey kills some units from the other team while it takes off. I have to shot the legs of the other team to force them to crawl then the Osprey can take off without killing them...

Hi! simple question: Is it possible to load the M252 mortar in vehicle cargo? I did some tests and although I hadn't the .ppa image file it was in the gear menu of my stryker but as soon as I try to take it, nothing happens...it just disappears. I guess I should load the tripod and M252 bags instead but I have no idea how to do it. Also I'm trying to take some ammo for it but nothing shows up in the stryker gear menu. First I've tried that: clearWeaponCargo this; clearMagazineCargo this; this addWeaponCargo ["2B14",1]; this addMagazineCargo ["ARTY_8Rnd_82mmHE_2B14",2]; EDIT I've found the bags class names and tried to add them like that : clearWeaponCargo this; clearMagazineCargo this; this addWeaponCargo ["M252_US_Bag_EP1",1]; this addWeaponCargo ["Tripod_Bag",1]; But for some reasons it doesn't find the entry and can't load the mission. EDIT 2 this addbackpack doesn't help either. Any advices?

Harvest Red not working well with OA?
50.cal replied to 11aTony's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Hi all, I was about to post here about that too. The Harvest Red campaign seems to be completely left aside. It's working fine if you use the arma2.exe tough but then forget all good engine upgrades and new game assets... Nearly all dialogs are messed up, the game hangs in several area/situations. The only improvement I've seen is in dog of war mission. Except for some dialogs that mission runs fine. I hope some ppl at BIS will look at that campaign seriously and deliver a very polished version. You know a rock solid campaign you can rely on like in every other games. I'm ready to help by reporting those bugs on devheaven but not just like this...I don't have time to waste. I'll do so only if I know some devs will actually look at it and DECIDE to work it. -
I'm having the same issue using vanillia CO+BAF latest official patch 1.56. I've opened a CIT for this. I guess it's not only related to XLS. I guess OA.exe is just doing a jam with pagefile/ ram and Vram. Too bad because I'm having good perf with that patch!

Laser Guided Bomb Computer for aircraft
50.cal replied to viper0311's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Targets can also be lased by one aircraft so the other wingmen can drop laser guided bombs on it. Perhaps a bit off topic but I suggest you to have a look at the link below to see the real potential of an A10. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=2452&scr=default〈=en Can't wait to put my hands on that thing :P -
Any chances to have the v-sync option in video options? Also when I've checked my arma2oa.cfg file I found that the render res was lower than my screen res. Changing this did not make any noticeable visual or performance difference. I understand that 3d res and render res isn't the same thing but what's the difference?

tbh I would listen to you when it comes to choose high end hardware since you seem to be upgrading it at least 3 times a year. -

and that's where the marketing's doing its magic :) ocing is not an exact science. it works by trial and error but if something goes wrong it's YOUR fault. if it's your "passion" then ok..anyway you'll spend your money on it. that's why I don' recommend it if you just want a stable/reliable powerful machine. EDIT for the stock OC it's ok...based on experience your hardware will probably last until the warranty expires :D ---------- Post added at 17:32 ---------- Previous post was at 17:25 ---------- It's just like tuning a car...YOU WILL WEAR your material faster and being a mechanic won't be enough, you will need to have your own garage to do the maintenance... -

I'm not saying that machine is not fit for overcloking as it's obviously advertised to be good for it. Cons: -Stresses all piece of hardware connected to the motherboard thus significantly reducing hardware's life -Highly prone to error and instability. Pros: -Increase in performance -Having a good reason to make frequent and expensive hardware upgrades. -

that computer is definitely a piece of junk. just joking:) but I wouldn't recommend any overclocking though... -

I would go for that one then : OCZ Vertex SATA-II 120 GB Solid State HDD - Silent That's an SSD hard drive. You can always keep the one you're using now to "store" or back things up...no need to have a fast one for that matter you'll just need space. EDIT: And also I would go the ATI way...the 5970 is just the most powerful GFX on earth to date. All together you'll need to add about 230£ but then you'll have something! -

50.cal replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Way to go except for the HDD! If you put that amount of money for a comp then you should absolutely go for a SSD hard drive! Don't forget that your system will always be limited by its weakest component...which is your hard drive at the moment.
