sure, centre to centre , my pic shows sub 4 mil dots centre to centre - so looks like fairly accurate, though tall civ. -

With the M24 - I tested at 1k and 500m, 2 and 4 mil dots respectively. Meaning that in Arma a human is 2m tall ? - the close 500m view was perhaps literally 1 pixel less than 4 mil dots, indicating 1.90 plus, a little tall no ? - tested again, pic is at exactly 500m - seems reasonable accuracy..4 mil dots equal 2 m at this range http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/4821/500m.jpg OFP units were to short. -
perhaps a specially shaped helmet, like the armour in medieval days that deflected arrow strikes could be used to deflect rounds. Or do the very differenct velocities make that unrealistic ?

Oh I know....tested by sniper 'laser' distance to object on end of runway 1609m Actually - testing again - straighter course - 5m 22seconds for 1 mile - a good running speed - realistic with gear on ??? other time i guestimated by taking time off for going over fences - didnt run on airport first time.

Ive been having a lot of fun in the infantry mode of the game but have noticed something a little disconcerting. How is it with 5 k viewing range, I cannot see placed units beyond 1800 m ?. The TOW on the Hummer as well has a range of 1500m , beyond this .......I thought the TOW had a range of 3k IRL. I placed a group of BLUFOR tanks on one end of the runway, OPFOR a few hundred m beyond the other end on a hill, waypoint for OPFOR to travel in my direction, they only pop into view at 1800 !, was OFP like this, cant remember. Just moved view up to 5500, now they are in view at 2200. Surely I dont have to have such a long viewing distance to be able to see units placed halfway out ?

I tested it bt getting a unit to run a mile - 4 min 48 - thats quick !

Fair one, but 2500m is the max, I have a I7 and do not accept FPS less than 30fps. Just glad to know that other people have the issue.

I say only for the hardcore, to send out optional very high voltage batteries along with the game, hook up various bodily parts then commence game. Obviously a fatal shot would kill the gamer - Id be very , very careful in a mission then. ;)

I am happy with performance at the mo, but would not take a 'hit' on it, there just isnt the breathing space over and above 30fps. If I was running at 80fps down to 50, no probs...;) Interesting frederf, anyoone know if a sniper rifle exists that automatically adjusts scope to a laser sight - or is this not passive enough....

The mercedes W140 was my favourite car since I was about 12, years later OFP came out and happily I found some kind soul had made a S class addon. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=8685 I was able to buy one IRL as well - now I want one for ARMA2 - I am totally ignorant on how to make an addon, did look into it and left running away with my tail between my legs. Is there such a addon for ARMA2 - if not , when are we likely to see such addons in good numbers ( I dont mean ARMA ones, ones that you can grab the PBO and plonk it in a folder.

I spose Ive seen too much 'future weapons' and other similar shows...it has to be said though, the mannequins are usually unharmed after rifle shots at close range. I suspect then helmets are just for 'flak' and not much use against a bullet, other than a lucky shallow deflection ?

Is it possible for a patch to allow me to put the cross hair of a sniper rifle on a far off target without calculating gravity ?, it is annoying with the M24 to be aiming at 3.5 mils above a target at 600/700 m. I assume IRL that range mil adjustments would mean a cross hairs aim point for such a shot ? Another quick Q, how on earth do Laser rangefinders work, I know they calculate the speed of light divided by the time it takes for the 'echo' but how on earth does a laser 'bounce off' grass or a human - logic would say it would need a mirrored surface no ?
