I setup a server on a dual 2.8 xeon with a gig of ram and all the bandwidth it needs(it is COMPLETLY uncapped). Its just a small server where me and a couple of friends play on when we are board with our main game, COD(both on the same box and it does not appear that they interfere with each other).
Anyways, Im the only one who gets this problem.. We will be playin a map, any map, stock or custom, mods or no mods, and my ping will jump to 500+ and stay there for several minutes at a time and it makes trying to hit anything at all or get into vehicles impossible. Everyone elses ping is 50-75 and stays nice and consistant.
I know it is not excessive CPU load or bandwidth serverside because OFP only uses 10-12% CPU and very little bandwidth.
I also only have problems with OFP. My other games, MOHAA, COD, ran fine and they are on the same box as well.
Things I have tried:
Forwarded ports on my router(didn't help)
Unplugged router went straight into my modem(didn't help)
tried a couple of ports on the server(2302, 2203, 12203..)
-12203 seemed to work a little better but still lags like hell.
