    thanks it turns out it was only a poorly configured zonealarm on my part that was the cause of this - ports not opened and the like many thanks for the replies

    LAN lobby broadcast problem

    On my home LAN any kind of mplayer games I host, regardless of the protocol or whatnot, do not show up in the game lobby screen! I am not an expert at this, but I assume my machine that is hosting these games is not broadcasting the game over the network and the others are not recieving it's broadcast, or something the like. The only way other LAN participants can join my games are through entering my IP address directly which is a pain in the ass. In fpoint it is the same thing regardless of whether or not I use sockets or directplay. I have a feeling it may be something to do with my firewall, Zonealarm pro 4.5, however I have been using it for months before this problem suddenly arose. My system setup: Win2K Pro, Zonealarm pro 4.5, NAV Pro 2004, Op Fpoint 1.96 Other LAN systems identical Can someone here help me out? It may be something like a windows update I applied because the problem suddenly arose instantly from nowhere, or it maybe something a little less complicated. Any help appreciated.

    Sockets & directplay

    Can someone tell me what the differences are between sockets and directplay implemenation methods? I've read sockets is recommended for more stable mplayer. Could anyone tell me what I should use on a home LAN of 4 PCs?

    thanks for the reply i actually had a little look around the C0C artillery addon and almost and pretty much ran screaming after a few minutes of it... I think i'll have to stick with the 500m tank skirmishes from now on

    im not that dumb ... i mean how can i make the AI gunner aim his weapon correctly/up enough to register a hit at several thousand meters? try it urself, they never aim high enough, the shell simply falls and hits the ground way before its target all because of the AI gunner not aiming correctly... ps. i already know of editting initspeed/maxspeed values, etc. i dont want to do this, i want it realistic...

    Can someone please tell me how I can change the weight of a vehicle in flashpoint? I have gathered from bits and pieces on the net that you can change a vehicles mass in 02 by editting the appropriate P3D file. I downloaded O2 Light from flashpoint1985.com, however it refuses to open any P3D files... Can anybody help me out here? Thanks in advance

    Im sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie at this. How can I unbinarize a file? I have the CPP2Bin Util for the other way round, but I dont know how to unbinarize to cpp... Thanks in advance
