Mando Missile ArmA for ArmA 2
cabby77 replied to mandoble's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Mandoble, all those work great as far as I know (don't know about remote mode, because I can't jump to gunner position in Single player mode, right?). I was just requesting for a new feature and thought you might be able to code it in. I am sure that all the hellfire firing modes added in ACE work great if you have another player as your gunner. If I have an Ai gunner, I can't tell him to use (Hi/Lo) mode and that way practice proper pop-up techiniques. Example Case A: Apache has a radar which picks up an AAA (stationary Shilka). I would lock the target and while flying low I manage get in to good firing position (behind the mountain). At the moment, I can't tell my Ai gunner (or jump to his place) to fire the missile in LOBL (Hi mode for example) and keep the Apache in safe position. Instead, I have to gain altitude, expose the Apache and give command to fire. Which usually ens up my Apache full of holes. Example Case B: The same thing but using the ULB to lase the target. My Apache is in good firing position - safe from enemy fire. I give command to fire but the missiles just get exploded to side of the mountain. If I could select from command menu (while in ULB) -> Command fire (LOAL Hi), hellfire would first gain altitude and then hit my lased target in 45 degree angle. These features would help a LOT for us who mostly play only Single Player. I came to you because you know your missiles. :D ACE has developed the firing modes. Combining these features shoudn't be an impossible task, I hope. -
Mando Missile ArmA for ArmA 2

Hey Mandoble! I have a HUGE request considering your mod. I play mostly SP missions and campaigns and love flying helicopters. Your mod and ACE developers have done a great job at making the game better. Thank you for that! My problem is this: When I play missions as a Apache pilot and my gunner is Ai, I can't tell him to switch between different Hellfire firing modes. I believe ACE developers didn't want to allow this because it would be too easy to destroy armor when playing online - so choosing between LOAL (Hi/Lo) modes are available only to player gunners. This is especially annoying in missions where you get to use the ULB. I position the Apache to a safe spot behind some hill and then scout the area with ULB (for example Open Season mission in OA campaign). I mark the target with laser and give command to fire the Hellfire. Alas, 9/10 times the missile hits the side of the hill (or I have to position Apache ridiculously high and get shot down by AAA). If I could tell my gunner or when using ULB to fire the missile as LOAL Hi for example, there would be no problem. I haven't got any response to this in ACE thread. I believe you are my only hope Mandoble. Please, add this feature to your addon. Besides, I find it hard to believe that I am the only one with this problem. Yours truly, cabby -
ACE 1.5 Beta (Advanced Combat Environment)

Hey guys, I have a few questions to ask about the ACE Hellfire features (LOAL, LOBL). I am trying to figure out how to properly use them while playing SP missions and campaign. The problem is that when I have a basic Player Pilot/Ai Gunner set up, I can't tell my gunner which firing mode to use. The same thing is when I am controlling the ULB. The missiles are guided by the laser, but I can't use LOAL(Hi/Lo) features. Many of the missiles I fire just get exploded to side of some hill because of this or I have to position my Apache so it gets shot down by some AAA. Help me out here please. -
Config file worked OK.. no error messages in the beginning and the sounds played like they should. Great work PitViper!

I'll give it a try when I get back home.. thanks for your efforts PitViper.

..just got my piece of resistance on friday and the only thing I'm missing now are the sounds from Satchel's dynamic range sound pack. I was wondering if you will set up a new one which works with resistance add on? Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the response. I hope you will get it sorted out soon because playing OFP without your soundpack is like screwing around with a cheese razor - slightly amusing but mostly painful
