    Landing a helo vs. jumping

We created a night raid mission on Everon near the coastal town of Lenitin (sp?). We had a similar issue of using the chopper as a one way rocket since we wanted a parachute insertion for the mission. Here's what we did to keep the realism in check. Since this is mission #5 of a 7 mission campaign that's focusing from the airbase up north, we have a small Spec Op group in one of the southern region towns with a few ammo crates and a few hummmers for ambieant effect. I have a blackhawk start at the airbase with a standard move command (and a fly height of 100m) to the town, with a get out command and a 45 second delay. Then a get in command and move commands that head us over towards the insertion point. The helicopter simply passes past this point with a couple of close move points with limited speed. Slow enough to garner a good parachute jump. We are out and the helo runs back to base. At this point, if you want a continous multiplayer, you can have the helo do a cycle command (or even doing multiple chopper runs). They effectively become "buses".

    Respawn not working

In your mission editor, place a marker (I use a blue dot). Title it Respawn_west. Do not place anything in the text field. Save. Exit. Search through your codemasters file to find a previously created description.EXT file. Copy it (not move) to your repsective mission folder. Paste. Edit with notepad. Change the code to Respawn="3" Respawndelay="20" Or whatever you want. Don't keep whatever was originally there. Save. Don't "save as", just save. Good to go.
  3. Hello! First time poster and I tried roaming the search fields, but didn't find what I was looking for. Here we go: 1. Is there a way to do multiple respawn points? We are working on one map where we have a Apache fighter group and in another location, a fast attack group. We would ultimately like to have the respective group members respawn at their locations instead of everyone at the same place. 2. During the game play (or even with scripting within the mission editor), how do you tell a unit to fall under your command? Example: We are trying another mission where must rescue a downed pilot. When we meet up with him, we cannot control him or tell him to board the helicopter we just landed. 3. Last question (least important if you are tired..haha)! We have another map with a beach landing. We have a few AI Blackhawks take off from one location loaded with an infintry group. They disembark at the landing zone. How would I have the Blackhawk move on to bigger and better things while the landed infintry group completes its objectives? Thanks all!!!
