This has got to be the worst multiplayer experience I have ever had. In fairness to this game I am fairly new to multiplayer shooters. I have logged many hours playing AOK but until Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I had very little experience with online shooters. After reading reviews for OPF I decided to give it a try, mainly to do the things that you cannot do in RTCW, drive/fight tanks and aircraft. After 5 nights of trying to connect, downloading patches, and being constantly disconnected, I finally get on a server. I am instantly attacked by the other players chat for being a moron and a few other words I cannot repeat here, because I am holding things up. High ping I guess, but no higher than I have been playing RTCW at.I cannot get cable connection here so am stuck with 56k modem. After firing back a few choice words I left the server not feeling real good about the experience. I have continued all night trying to connect. Finally get on another server to be informed in chat that everyone will leave if I do not. I guess my ping was above 3 or something. I cannot believe that I am the only one with a 56k on this stupid Gamespy Arcade, so I have to assume that everyone with a dial up is teated this way. I am glad the single player is pretty good, at least there arent a bunch of fucking jerks programmed into the AI, so I can at least enjoy it. As for multiplayer I guess I will just go back to RTCW where everybody just has fun slaughtering each other. Instead of acting like assholes.
