No I don't. I'm a firm believer in "You break it, you fix it". But that's another debate. The point I was trying to make is that he is preaching to the wrong crowd, that he shouldn't expect unconditional agreement from everybody. He wanted to pay tributes? Fine, he should have posted this in the Iraq thread. If he could not stand people voicing different opinions, then he shouldn't have posted it at all or posted it in a forum with more favourable demographics. It's as simple as that.

This is a predominantly European board, so it is unlikely that you'll find much support for your "tribute" thread. A majority of the posters in the "Offtopic" forums feel that the US forces are an occupying force that participated in an illegal invasion. It's like you in 1940 would have asked for tributes for German troops who did a splendid job occupying Poland. Furthermore, your attempts of controling the contents of what people post is just silly. Without debate, this is spam. The net worth of such a thread is zero. If you want to pay your tributes, pray, chant, meditate, whatever - do it on your own. Suppose I was to post a thread asking for people to post tributes to the 9/11 hijackers. Would you accept my instructions to "stay out, unless you had tributes to post"? I doubt that very much.

I don't think you were wrong. This has all the signs of a power struggle. I have nothing against the moderators and I think they do their job pretty well, but to say that they are angels would be too much. I've personally seen forum rules violations from them many times. The fact that Denoir was ousted over such an insignificant event shows that there was more to this than they are telling us. My guess is that Placebo was threatened by Denoir and saw his chance when BIS acted on Avon's behalf. Is it really a coincidence that he was made head moderator in the middle of this? --Chris

I have a few questions. You probably want me to send you a pm about it as you obviously want to hush down this issue, but I think it concerns the entire forum. My first question is to Placebo. According to you Denoir damaged the modrators' credibility by his post and it would hurt the board if he did not apologize. Because of your concern for this board you had to ask him to apologize or resign. Forgive me, but that's a load of horse shit. Unless you really did not know Denoir or did not know this board you would have known that Denoir leaving was far worse for this board then him getting into a heated argument in an offtopic topic. The result of it is that you, not Denoir has done something very bad to this board and members. So you should be the one to resign. Since you apparently cannot see the broader implication of your actions, you are not fit being a moderator, much less head-moderator. How could you possibly justify you staying as mod when you on purpose or throught ignorance have inflicted damage on this board? My second question is about the board rules. Do they only apply to moderators you wish  to get rid of? This is from the Mid East thread. Outrageous! There is something terribly wrong with the management of this board when the best and most liked moderator feels forced to quit. Whoever pushed Denoir into this should resign immediately as you have caused this board irreparable damage! I'm not the one to judge if his post was ok or not but I know that the forums will be much worse off without him. Denoir, I'm very sad to see you leave but I very much respect you for standing up what you believe in. I blame those who should have done everything to stop you from leaving, but apparently did not.
