    apparently BIS paid this certain German ISP to get rid of the BTS, so they can announce that ArmedAssault is actually BUGFREE now wink_o.gif

    You will believe me, when the cameo uniforms will turn MAGENTA in Armed Assault 2 and the main character's name is "Robert T."  smile_o.gif

    You don't have to open a topic about that, as we can't change it.

    As long as armed-assault.de and bugs.armed-assault.net have the same response times, there is no need to report it. They are on the same IP.

    My 2 cents on AmericanFootball

    * they stand around most of the time

    * more commercial breaks than real play

    * utterly boring

    * as a player, you have a lot of breaks (defense/offense crap)

    * you have to study a 1000-pages rule book

  5. Hold fire only let them holds fire until the enemy is dangerously close or when they are under fire, when you order it during a firefight it they are most likely under fire wink_o.gif

    not really .. look at Bug 2218 ...

    The AI begins to ignore the "HOLD FIRE", if the following condition is fullfilled:

    e1 = enemy (my teammate knowsabout this unit);

    m1 = my teammate;

    if ( e1 knowsAbout m1 > 0.7.. ) {

      m1 ignores HOLD FIRE

    }

  6. I just tried the scripts and I'm very impressed! I have combined the script with a lower accuracy setting in the Armaprofile file. Battles are very slow and intense with constant firing.

    That's waht I like too. But your squad can run out of ammo quickly during such a firefight because it is very hard to control the AI rate of fire in ArmA - even more than in Ofp. Damn AI ignores hold fire commands once the firing has started sad_o.gif

    BIS really should work on the command interface and give us some more options there like rate/method of fire, fire sectors and so on.

    So either you release something to the crowd from CWC or you stop talking about it.

    these were my replies with the admin-account, because i deactivated my own account, after realizing that we (german,czech,polish,etc)-players are treated in such a nice way.

    This bugtracker is not made by BIS. I set it up with I&C.

  10. Todays GameStar TV had a report on OFP2. I haven't seen it myself, but here is a small overview from Lightman:

    Thanks Lightman for his summary. Rough translation:

    -It seems the screenshot is indeed in game graphic. See also the graphic familiarity with Colin McRae Dirt.

    -The development team is 150 men strong and the title is in development for 2 years.

    -According to codemasters this wont be a ego-shooter a la BF2, rather a full blown simulation with embassy on novel AI features and team leadership.

    -The battlefield should reach a size never seen before.

    -The player should experience a in depth story and care about his teammates.

    -On this years Games Convention in Leipzig OFP2 will have it's first grand presentation.

    Please keep in mind that this is a translation of a summary of a report about the impressions after a talk with the programmers of OFP2... wink_o.gif

    i doubt, that it will so open in terms of customizability like the BIS-titles.


  11. There was a video footage on the german GameStar TV about the title with an interview with the developers.

    Summary (from someone at armed-assault.de who saw it):

    * the screenie is ingame material apparently

    * the dev team consists of 150 people working since 2 years on the title (which i doubt)

    * definitely, it won't be a BF2-alike. It will be a hardcore sim just like OFP1 with big improvements in terms of AI and team leadership

    * very big battlefields (in scales, never seen before) :lol:

    * there will be a nice background story with characters

    * a preview will be presented on the GC 2007 in Leipzig

    Playing with ECP was a different experience.

    * Swearing of the soldiers

    * helicopter radio chatting

    * grenade-effects

    * bleeding ..

    * simply everything was better.

    didn't play ofp without it anymore.

  13. I'll try to adapt my ruby-importscript to the wishlist.

    It should be fairly easy to extract the list since it's just an list with items separated by "*".

    But:

    1. i will import it in a separate project

    2. Since i have not a holy-"Shell access" to the bugs.armed-assault.net-Server, i'll  generate an sql-import, whithout username-accounts. The only things, which are converted will be:

    * the text (obvious)

    * the category

    This is no great loss, 'cause most of the time, the username lacks anyway.

    Some good soul can then move the relevant issues to the "Armed Assault Features"-project. This is not too hard, because you can batch-move a bunch of issues.
