  1. Well sometimes if there abit to low or to high then it can make lag. Kinda had a filling this server was never gonna go down this week anyway as the servers from this host are on 12 months contact. Wouldnt of made sence to shut down a popular even if Zaphod stopped the development. Mission can still be played.
  2. Guess i could host 100 player berzerk server when my new i7 comes online next week with 4.0ghz hopfully if stable. Its located at same data center as the dao berzerk server and the xr warfare server. But id need some info on what network settings berzerk needs in the arma.cfg for 100 players
  3. Dont think anyone would shutdown a popular server unless they really had to. Should wait for that to be confirmed before asking such questions

Not sure if its ok to do this on here but seen other threads where people put up servers for rent so here go's I have quad core dedicated server up for rent that i no longer need as im upgrading to core i7 860 Server specs Q9550 @ 3.4ghz 8gb Ram Gigabyte x48-ds4 motherboard 2 x 750 gb F1 drives on raid 0 100 mbit connection Windows server 2008 x64 OS 4u case with lots of cooling. Server also sits in front of the data center cooling with core temp around 55c while game server in use Hosted in frankfurt data center in Germany Prob looking at geting around 120 to 150 euros for it. Costs me 85 euros a month on colocation at the moment as i own the hardware and the guy at the data center said its worth 120€ minimum to 200€ euros with its hardware and power usage. I most likely have it switched off and put into storage if i cant rent it out If anyone intrested then just pm me.

    Just had a little test of it and the mission looks good. May run this on my sever to replace my #2 warfare server and pretty sure could get few people intrested in it. Nice work :)

    You never wondered why rpg started to die on arma and never took off on arma 2? Because All the popular missions being played on arma 2 like warfare. berzerk. certain coop missions. There all free for any server owner to use. Yet you guys seem to come across and being so far up your selfs that you make your mission server sided which is basiclly good as forcing people to play on your server if they wanna play your mission. Soon as you did this on arma 1 all the popular rpg servers shutdown and there was alot. And your reason for doing it.... because some people removed the credits which aint nice but what you guys did is even worst If someone changed the credits on bennys warfare map then so what.... People would still know its his mission. By removing your mission from a community that helped it get known and popular by runing it on there servers when rp-mods had no server. Then you get your server and set up your comminity and its like you saying... oh we dont need your servers or help to run the mission no more so we make our mission server sided so only we can run it. Alot of people lost intrest in rpg sence then including me

    Too many Pub servers banning Vopsound!

    The XR warfare servers have the key for the vop 2.1 mod but for some reason some people can get on and some cant. Need to look into it.
  9. Will heres my results and my noob attempt to use paint mode :D Test one always seemed to score lower when first runing arma 2 mark. Thats after booting up arma 2 then runing arma mark 2 for the first time. Hardware i tested on Core i7 920 @ 2.67ghz 6gb ram Asus GTX 275 Windows 7 Pro 64bit full version

    Is game still unoptimized?

    Well my core i7 920 not overclocked and gtx 275 runs fine on big missions like warfare in the big citys so i cant see how overclocking to 3.0ghz would fix it. Maybe try lowering your video settings first
  12. Thats just proof that berzerk doesnt have 11000 players but we all knew that anyway. and i bet my life if the stats loged by player id then it wouldnt show 10842 ids aswell as names. Also if there was so many berzerk players then more berzerk servers would be filled up with 100 players instead of just one. Well you also have to look at the fact that if other missions like warfare could handle 100 slots then they would be full to. Because it can only handle 32 slots at the moment so they always full at 32 slot. we run 2 warfare servers always full. even increased it to 40 slots at once time with full servers full thats 80 players then theres other servers runing warfare to that become full like rougnecks. SuicideSquad and many others. But if warfare could handle 128 players then a server hosting 128 warfare would fill up easy Also gotta take into account how many of the players on server are regulars and dont just disconnect after 5min of playing as theres always people coming and leaving during the game Just to prove my point. top 5 servers at the moment So them stats with 11000+ people loged mean nothing. Server just logs more players quicky because it runs 100 slots so gets more player connects then the avage 32slot server. And if there was seriously so many dedicated berzerk players then there be more full 100 slot servers runing berzerk on the list instead of just one
  13. 11000 player names loged on the stats doesnt mean 11000 players. Alot of people change there name or use more then one name. And theres no way theres 11000 active players on multiplayer. We used to use this stat system on arma 1 http://xrserver.com/stats/ which shows all kind of info when you click on a players name. Just waiting for benny to get it working on arma 2. Shows some good info like who tk buildings and many other things

  15. Just found out when you crash from a game and try reconnect to server you get stuck on wait for server if you using squad xml. Soon as i disabled my xml path i could connect to server in a matter of seconds. Number of people had this problem on xr server. Had the problem for months and had no idear it was xml related so i used to change my user name without xml which would let me connect to server Right now i tryed connected to XR #2 server as brit~XR with Hotshot xml 3times and had no luck so gave up. So i disabled my xml addess by adding a extra letter in the address then tryed to reconnect to server as brit~XR and connected instantly

    I was wondering why both my servers was empty. Normally the other way around so Was like did a new game came out or somethink lol. You can remote connect to xr using 195.200.192.69:3500 if your a warfare player
  17. Nothing to do with the mission its arma 2 or hardware related. I never crash and just played a long 5 hour + game. Few people kept crashing to desktop but they even said them selfs they crash on other missions to. If it was as bad as you say then everyone would crash and wouldnt bother playing the mission
  18. Yeah im sure it is good server to run that good. Also seems to be located at the same data center as mine. Same ip.s Good data center. Been with them for a year on colocation and they even placed my server infront of there new cooling system so im happy :) Think we all be waiting a long time for that. Arma 2 uses less then 2cores at the moment :( I have a dual core server i rent with e8400 and 4gb and own a q9950 @ 3.4ghz 8gb ram and they both ran the same on proformance at the moment when it comes to runing warfare 32 slots. fps around 10 Tested berzerk some weeks ago when first released on arma 2 and had around 45fps with 50 players using 2 cores. Nice to see 128 slot mission now anyway :P Just hope they can fix JIP lag in the next patches. Jip lag makes good servers look bad lol

  20. Think i give windows 7 a try as i have almost same system as you but with gtx 275 that i built for arma2 costing me over £1000 but was disapointed the way arma 2 ran on it.

We noticed on our arma2 server that runs windows 2008 64bit and 8gb ram that players keep crashing to desktop, Yet when we run the same mission on windows 2003 32bit server the problems go away. Anyone else runing win 2008 64bit with 8gb ram or more and having problems? Server it self is stable and was in use everyday on arma1 but crash to desktops seem to be a problem when runing arma2 on it
  22. Well sence arma1 only 32 slots per team was possable. 2 teams = 64 players. 4 teams 128 players. I never seen a 2 team player vs player map use more then 64 slots in public games.
  23. Hard to say. Depends if they fix the join in progress lag problem which has been a problem sence arma1. 128 man means you need to use 4teams. can only have 32 players per team if you didnt know.

If you ask me most of the 64player servers lag due to the netcode and the fact the dedicated server.exe is beta I own 2 dedicated servers and i did set up a berzerk server on a q6600 machine and even tho it had 4 dedicated cores it had join in progress lag and seem to lag like hell over 40 to 50 players even tho server had 40+ fps out of 50 Also arma2 only seems to use around 35% out of 100% on 4cores. Thats not even 2 cores geting used. Also berzerk and hold maps have no ai so dual core server would be enough. Your prob better of waiting till bis release the next dedicated server.exe to see if it uses multicore better
  25. Noticed a bug thats a problem. Was on server and crashed to desktop yet my player name was still connected to server as i crash so when i went to rejoin you see brit~XR connecting <--- me connecing brit~XR disconnected <--- name i used when i crashed to desktop The problem was i got stuck on wait for server even after reconnecting 5times then rebooting pc. So i changed my name to Rob my real name and i connected in 5secs but was unable to connect as brit~XR after crash to desktop Happened quite a few times to loads of people geting stuck on wait for server no matter how long you wait now i finally see the problem
