    The Middle East part 2

The problem with your argument is that elements from Hamas' military wing took part in the Army outpost attack and helped in abducting a Israeli soldier. There are probably elements within the Israeli government and military that wants this conflict to continue but you really think Hamas was willing to recognize Israel with that attack last week? Or, you forget that Hamas claimed groups joint responsibility for the attack. http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2004-06-27-gaza-explosion_x.htm

    The Middle East part 2

So didn't the Taliban but we still attacked them with the support of various nations including European ones. Each situation is unique and, therefore, should not be compared between each other. Hezbollah isn't just some minority opposition party because they are heavily armed and the Lebanese government wouldn't touch them due to the storm that would come if they do. Something isn't right in which a "minority" opposition party is allowed to own and use katyusha rockets, 9K51 Grads, and etc. against a other country. Or, is that just me? The whole bully talk.

    The Middle East part 2

Well, yes. Lebanon is a sovereign country and Israel has to deal with it that way. And while I know this may sound strange to a Bush follower but there tends to be an international consensus on that you can't just go invading countries whose governments don't do what you want. While Lebanon's inability to control Hezbollah is regrettable, it is hardly a cause for invasion. So far eight Israeli soldiers have been killed 63 Lebanese civilians, four Brazilians, four Germans and one Argentinian. This over two soldiers. By the way, by your logic, shouldn't perhaps Brazil and Germany (or the EU) invade Israel? Or should they just sit on their asses waiting for Israel to kill more of their citizens? Â No, Brazil or Germany doesn't have the right because the goal of those airstrikes wasn't meant to kill them or any civilians for that matter. I guess the Taliban should be reinstalled because the United States and others invaded the sovereign country of Afghanistan and removed the Taliban due to them sheltering Al-Qaeda. There is no consensus with these types of incidents. Blah, It wouldn't surprise me that Iran was behind the abductions to force focus away on the coming deadline with them on nuclear energy.

    The Middle East part 2

Oh, it is Israel fault this time and it is the poor ole' Arabs (I'm using this in general) that haven't done anything. Parts of Lebanon's infrastructure is being attacked because of Hezbollah's actions a few days ago that left eight Israeli soldiers dead and two others captured by them. You expect Israel just sit on its ass and just look while Hezbollah has free reign in Lebanon while two of its soldiers were captured by them because the Lebanese government is afraid to act? Cry me a river with the Israel is acting like a bully crap in this instance.

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter gets official name

It isn't the first time that the USAF named a new plane after a legendary plane. The A-10 is named the Thunderbolt II, the F-100 is named the Super Sabre, the C-9 is named the Skytrain II, the T-6A is named the Texan II . I think the Navy was responsible for naming the A-7 the Corsair II.

    The Middle East part 2

Would you mind posting a source from the PRC calling itself a terrorist organisation? Â I have little doubt that their members have been responsible for acts of terrorism, but then so have former Israeli prime ministers. If you prefer citing an Israeli source about the PRC then I would ask you for a quote where the Israeli government has ever referred to any Palestinian group as a resistance movement. I agree, especially given that entire articles can be posted about the Lavon Affair without mentioning the word "terrorism" even once. Â I can't find any comments in which they call themselves terrorists. They, however, claimed responsibility for the murder of the Israeli pregnant woman and her children, bombing a school bus with children onboard, shooting at workers going to work, and etc. I believe they, PRC members, conducted more attacks on citizens then military targets and the organization claims responsibility for them.

    The Middle East part 2

You of course know that the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), a terrorist organization who have carried out attacks against Israeli citizens before, claimed that it was their snipers that killed the soldier. You do know that PRC also claimed that they were apart of the military outpost attack, which started the current Israeli offensive, and they were the ones that murdered the 18 year old settler. There were incidents in which civilians were killed by American forces but I don't recall "many" were killed.

So close but yet so far.... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060628/ap_on_go_co/flag_amendment Interesting that the bill almost passed but failed due to one vote. It would had likely became an amendment. I wonder if this vote will be used against Kerry or Clinton if they decide to run in '08. Anyway, I really don't see the bill as a election year booster because Republicans have been trying to get a ban on flag desecration for years.

    The Middle East part 2

Point being.... I have not seen threats like this from Israel for a long time. Why do they appear to have been more outraged by the kidnapping of a Israeli SOLDIER than the death of an un-armed Isreali citizen? Personally, when you start blowing Palestinian civilians to bits whilst hunting for terrorists, you are guaranteed to get some sort of reprisal. I'd prefer it to be directed at the armed forces, than un-armed civilians. At least the army can defend itself. From the reaction from Israel, it looks like Hamas would be safer attacking civilian targets again. THAT, being my point. Israel is angry because they, the terrorists, abducted him and are holding him hostage. The soldier is presume to be alive therefore Israel is taking steps to release him.

    The Iraq thread 4

The moaning over this crappy song is kind of sad. CAIR has a agenda just like every other organization. When they issued their press release a few days ago, they spinned the clip has to a Marine singing about him killing Iraqi civilians. The BBC believed what CAIR said and their report said.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/5077858.stm Nice reporting, BBC. If you want to find something truly offensive, go find the World War 2 era cartoons that starred Japanese people. @Walker: "Durka Durka" first appeared in a South Park episode starring Osama Bin Laden a few months after 9/11 has a joke. Who made Team America, Walker? The whole mocking of non-english speaking people during Team America dealt with the perceived ethnocentrism of Americans and not racism. Arabic people were not the only "foreign" people mocked.

No argument there. Correct me if I am wrong but was'nt it introduced in 2002? I am sure that the issue will be brought up again again and again before elections as long as the public opinion makes it profitable. I believe it was reintroduced in 2003 when it stalled.

I think that is excatly my point, the gay marriage thingie comes out of the closet (shitty pun intended) every time approval ratings take a nose dive and/or it's election time. The gay marriage ban is one of the goals of the more conservative element of society. The amendment has been introduced on non-election years. It might be attempt by President Bush to get support but the ban issue will continue on after he is gone.

Wonder if they truly want it passed, no more pandering to the wackos and the log cabin types would find lying to themselves even harder. It is called trying to win back his base that he lost over the couple of months through his various actions and positions (i.e., immigration reform). The gay marriage ban amendment isn't a new thing. I guess you haven't heard of the "Defense of Marriage Act" from the 1990s that was passed under President Clinton. There might be a repeat of 1992 but it will be Congress and not the President changing.

Jesse Macbeth was not a Army ranger but a boot camp washout. The wikipedia article linked below points out this fact and other inconsistencies about him being a ranger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Macbeth Jeff Englehart's story is interesting because he heard on the radio that WP was being used (for what?) and he did not take part in the main fighting in Fallujah. Visit http://www.spectator.se/stambord/?p=1039 about his story. I will not hold it against him that he is a fan of Che and compared President Bush to Hitler. As well, he compared "bunker buster" bombs to the final solution.

    FFUR - Huge Release !!

You know you can simply delete the music.pbo in the ffur 2006 folder to play the original score. I did that because the current selection of ffur 2006 music is not my taste.

You probably do not care how many active duty service personnel died from accidents and other non-hostile action during the period between 1980 and 2002. Just more politics I guess. Anyway, "Happy" Memorial Day...

Gang members use the USarmy to learn urban warfare

Gangs senting their members into the military for training and etc. has been a problem for more than a decade. The lowering of recruiting standards in the last year or so did not create this problem. Here is a article from 1995.... http://www.streetgangs.com/topics/1995/072795cpblmil.html

Your google-fu is weak because I just copy-and-paste the first sentence in to Yahoo! search parameters and it lead me to LGF. LGF then lead me to http://www.nytimes.com/2006....=slogin. It is not surprising that you could not find a link because you are RalphWiggum ( ). Porter Goss is not a Harriet Miers because, unlike her, he had experience working in the CIA. Anyway, the NeoCons do not have control over the Republican Party because, for example, look what happened in the House after DeLay stepped down. The House Republicans basically revolted against the TBA during the whole immigration reform fisaco. First, it was the Christian Right that took over the Republican Party and now it is the Neocons. Which one has control... @RW: J/K Edit: I was trying to be nice....

Â I don't think he really did try. I saw him laugh maybe twice, which is more than I laughed having watched the original. Â Come on people, you got to admit it wasn't funny. The only reason people are clamoring to the Colbert thing is because he bashed bush to his face. It could have been Carrot Top or Paulie Shore and every one would be calling them "gods" for what was in all actuallity a pretty boring roast with maybe one or two funny moments tops. Â Am I the only one who nearly fell asleep watching the Colbert roast? You are not alone thinking that majority of Colbert's jokes were not funny. I like looking at the Colbert Report, especially when he interviews a congressional representative, but his joke selections for the dinner were awful. President Bush mocking himself was funnier than Colbert's jokes.

The overall conclusion from that "Global Research" article... Nowhere in the Washington Post article said that Al Qaeda in Iraq is fabricated. The WP article is about how Al Qaeda in Iraq role in Iraq might be overstated. The WP article does not conclude that Al Qaeda in Iraq is fabricated. The "Global Research" article is just spin. Let me leave you with this quote from the article.... Another crackpot writer.

    Can anyone identify these?

Well according to the internet ( Â ), Chile did have in service various Mauser models for decades. So, I would likely assume that is a Mauser. I have no clue what model of the Mauser that is in those pictures. Follow the link below to a site that has pictures of one of the models that Chile used. http://www.antiquearmsinc.com/1895-mauser-rifle.htm
