Hey, I joined the forums about 12 years ago after getting OFP:CWC when I was fifteen. I haven't been very active though, and I am a complete newbie all over again. There are some names here I still remember (I just googled The Avon Lady to see if my favorite OFP site was still there :( ) but this place is totally new to me again. I just got ARMA 3 and checked out a lot of videos. I'm actually excited enough to spend some time getting back into things, but watching vids of others and getting my butt kicked on the lowest difficulty in single player makes me think I'll need 2 months of night school to even show my face in MP. I still probably won't post very much, at least until I feel comfortable enough to join other players. What have I done in the last decade? Went to school and got myself a nice job. Nice job brought decent money. Decent money bought a fancy new rig for playing games again. I'm wondering how much more I should get in order to fully appreciate the ARMA experience. New mouse? TrackIR? Most popular mods? I guess that's what lurking is for. I have a lot of sticky threads to read before I start commenting actively again.

He/she means www.reuters.com. (Unless, of course, you're searching for network solutions for your business.) I would hope that one of the biggest debacles in the history of American foreign policy was not inspired by an episode of Scooby Doo. However, I find it more delusional if not sinister that the administration had its eyes on Iraq from the moment it took office and had grand ideas about going down in history as champions of freedom. I hear that the administration didn't plan for the postwar. Wouldn't it be ironic if the postwar turned out to be the only thing they'd planned before the war started?

FBI snooping did not follow rules File this one under the "No shit" category.

If you can't see how obviously faked that picture is, you should refrain from calling other people blind.

All the dancing bananas are making me queasy. This is an exciting development and hopefully a demo is on the way. Although, as an American I feel like I'm being left behind with all of the publishing and distribution news as of late.

Lechery Season lasts a lot longer where I go to college.

Six Americans (five children and a mother) were killed by one of the Japanese fire balloons.

The worst part about that is that many Hispanics that are here illegally can't go to the law for protection from persecution because they are afraid of being deported. edit: Now that you mention it, I wonder why the immigration issue hasn't popped up in this thread yet.

Well, I can't convince you otherwise. You're basis seems anecdotal. All I know is I didn't feel any different in Montgomery than I did in New York or Washington D.C. Blacks were more often at the bottom of the social ladder in all cases. Institutional racism is not exclusive to the south.

Fear? Â Genuine fear of retribution? That's difficult for me to believe. I agree with you stating there is de facto segregation. I noted that myself a lot in the cafeteria when I was in high school. My point was that to single out the south is unfair.

Nothing irks me quite like uninformed criticism of the south. If people in the north and west have seen what gun culture does, then wouldn't they be the first to stop violent gun crime? Wouldn't all the school shootings occur in the south? As far as I'm concerned, the second amendment is in place to keep the government from fucking with the first one. Hunting and anti-federalism are the reasons guns are still so popular around here. As far as race goes, when's the last time a large race-oriented riot occured in the south? The Civil Rights movement was one of the greatest achievements of non-violence in the 20th century and it occured mere blocks away from where I'm typing this message. Violent race-fuelled riots have occured since then, but it's happened in places like Detriot and Los Angeles. But wait, the south has the largest population of blacks in the nation, so should it not be a flashpoint? Usually, we leave people outside the region to their own uninformed speech, but it still grows tiresome.

Separation of powers FTW! edit: Spelling

Civil War... (I think there's a mod for that... ) However, it would take a little imagination to dream up a plausible situation that would result in the invasion of the United States, at least by terrestrial beings.

We'll teach your General Wayne Gretzky what the second amendment is all about! Most of the screenies resemble the American southwest. Border patrol mod, anyone? Anyway, what kind of varied geography does this island have?
