Armed assault is so much enjoyable now. The 3D grenade launcher sites were a good addition, though more like a work in progress. I particularly like the maximum unzoomed optics, it really increases FOV and orientation for CQB.

The only complaint I have with the original implementation of the iron sights is that CQB becomes a pain... especially if you have the crosshair turned off in the realism settings. It was a pain for two reasons: 1. POV worked for distant targeting, but it was too closed up for CQB. 2. In iron sight mode, its difficult to move the mouse fast enough to aim someone moving close around you... even if you don't want to aim at a specific area of the target.

Doesn't the length of the barrel also affect the initial velocity of the bullet, which would also affect the kinetic energy of the bullet? G36 could have a much longer barrel?

You could be subconciously developing uber sniping skills

Just wondering... who finds the current ballistic model to be a little off, too realistic, too unrealistic, unrealistic but fun, too realistic but fun etc... Personally, I think a reduction in the accuracy of some weapons (especially the rifles) would give a more enjoyable gameplay. Â But that is just my opinion. Â Perhaps an option to increase more recoil/decrease accuracy would be nice too. Â And whats with the super powerful HK and G36? I'm not saying the current model is bad, just that it might be more enjoyable with some small tweaks. Â

Would BIS continue spending all this time and money fixing the bugs? Thankfully, BIS have been very supportive of the game so far. However, wouldn't it be more resourcesful for them to work on a sequel or another expansion pack then fixing bugs... even if that means loosing the current fan base? A lot of the constructive critism would probably be implemented on a later game, rather than the current one.

it seems that it takes more bullets from a fn fal / hkg3 / m60 to kill a person or blow up a vehicle than a m16 / m4. Isn't it the other way around?

Alright, I hid in the house on the west of the city. Nothing happens after!?

To make a clean reinstall 1. Make a win98/winME bootdisk from the control panel's add/remove program icon. 2. Backup ONLY things that you don't feel confident be able to find it again on the net or in your collection of CDs/Disks. 3. Bootup from your floppy Disk (you may have to goto Bios and set the boot sequence, usually it is A/C/ZIP 4. Don't select CD-Rom support the first time you boot up. 5. Type FDisk in the prompt, delete all your partitions, ALL your partitions. YOu may have to delete your logitcal/extended drives first. 6. Restart computer, boot with CD-Rom enabled. 7. Type Format C: in the prompt 8. Type X: where X is your cdrom drive letter (you may have to play around abit here, usually E and up.. 9. type setup in the prompt, with your Win98/ME/XP/2000 CD in.. 10. The rest is easy, just follow instructions

Symptoms:  USB mice freezes, several minutes after loading the game. My Configuration:  SiS 735  Geforce 2 Pro  256 Mb  Logitech USB mice I'm not sure if this problems effects everyone. Knowing that there are so many OPF players out there-- Although I cannot confirm this, this problem could arise from chipsets other than the SiS 735 (if it is a chipset problem).  The patch from Microsoft was provided for AMD chipsets, but it worked perfectly for my SiS 735 (ECS). Here is the Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default....3149332 If that doesn't work than, you can try this page: http://www.usbman.com/Guides/SiS%20USB%20Tips%20and%20Tricks.htm I've tried all the bios settings from the above page.  After a long time of toying around, you can fix the mouse freezing problem.  But it won't work again if you reinstall Windows 98 or Format your Harddrive.  I've yet to isolate the single thing I removed or change or autodetect from the system devices that fixed it... ECS K7S5A If you download the latest bios 2 months ago for the Motherboard with Onboard lan, Download it AGAIN!  If you used the latest bios back then, it will disable Onboard LAN; whereas if you download the latest bios for the mobo with No Onboard LAN, it gives you LAN support!!! ECS has fixed the mispost. Hope this helps frustrated OPF players (do they actually exist or is it just me?)
