  1. I've been having this problem as well but I don't think mine's an upgrade or a driver problem sad.gif

I used to run 1.46 with shed loads of addons and it ran rock stable for months.  The problems started when I upgraded to 1.75 and then I started gettting the memory map errors.

Ah-ha, I think, I've read the FAQ and it'll be a problem with the number of addons I've got.  (I know 1.75 was supposed to have better addon handling than 1.46 but this seems not to be the case).  Using the 'sledgehammer to crack walnut' approach I decided to reformat the HDD and reinstalled win98 from scratch.  After loading all the latest drivers for every device in the system I installed OFP 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.46 and 1.75 and .... memory map errors sad.gif

Not only that, the whole game is drastically unstable and crashes to desktop or locks up far too frequently.  I've got so annoyed with it all that I've wound back to 1.46 and things are nice and stable again

Any ideas (not including reinstalling or new drivers)?  Could be a virtual memory problem - what's a good size for a swapfile?

  2. I thought one of the things that was supposed to have improved in Resistance was addon management - doesn't look that was to me sad.gif

I've been using the same install of Flashpoint since about 3 weeks after the original was released in the shops.  Since then it's had numerous patches (up to 1.46 ), Red Hammer, about 8 new islands, 18 user campaigns and over 400 Mb of addons thown at it and it's been stable as a rock - I was well impressed.

Finally got a hold of Resistance today and installed it.  Two minutes into the cutscene and the screen went to black and the PC locked.  Rebooted and started OFRr again and got a "unable to memory map resistance.pbo" message.  Swore.

Had a look through Avonladys FAQ and found the problem was possibly related to all the addons so I deleted a shedload.  Tried OFPr again and it locked up a bit further into the cutscene.  Deleted more addons and this next time I managed to get to the first mission and went for a bus ride ... then it crashed again. Booo!

I'll probably have to do a reinstall from scratch but does anyone know what addons should be present in a clean install of OFPr (then I can delete everying else)

    Cheers, bighodge

If anybody else should go looking the file required is at OFPINFO under ADDONS/MISCELLANEOUS/ADMIRAL. Not perhaps the most obvious place to look.<span id='postcolor'>

I think the main clue is in the readme file.  Possibly the bit that says

"Required addons - Admiral.  Available from ofp.gamezone.cz (If you can't find something search for it or look under misc. sections)"

A bit of RTFM might help wink.gif

I'm about 10 missions in and it's pretty cool (and no bugs yet either! )

    85. If you suffer horrendous damage to your legs you still repeatedly try to stand up causing yourself great pain

89.You wonder why a General post about Operation Flashpoint is moved from the General Operation Flashpoint forum and into Off Topic

The PMC Fury campaign is similar to the original 1985 campaign and consists of about 32 single player missions.

If you want to get the original PMC Fury campaign working, unzip the file into your Operation Flashpoint\Campaigns folder - it should create a subdirectory called \PMC_Fury.abel.  Start Flashpoint and click on 'Campaign' at the main menu.  Chances are you'll see the 1985 Campaign as the chosen one.  There should also be a little left/right arrow next to the campaign title.  Click this and you should be able to select the PMC Fury campaign.

I think the procedure for the new Jungle version may be slightly different because the campaign has been built as a .exe file.  In addition you'll need to find and download all the listed Jungle addons and skins.  Copy these into your \addons directory

    Have fun

  7. After you've collected your 3 buddies you can fly down to the old castle ruins on the south coast.  If you climb to the top of the castle you'll meet up with the resistance leader.  He'll join your group and you can fly him to the pub as well.

Are there any other war veterans hiding around the countryside?
