Can't run the directdraw part of dxdiag

thanks for the advice with directx buster . I've gone back to 8.0 and I can actually run the game now - woohoo Unfortunately, I've now got to work out how to run the ultimate upgrades without them bombing out and rendering OFP unstartable. Still I can play v1.00 at least cheers all

Can't run the directdraw part of dxdiag

Thanks for your responses... Yes it says "DxDiag 4.08.01.0881." Yes I uninstalled my previous video drivers first. I have even tried rolling back to the driver set supplied with the graphics card. - identical error still It must be a problem with directx, surely?? I have reinstalled it from the install program, but there appears to be no way to completely uninstall all versions of directX, to start from scratch. The only other difference from when I used to run OFP fine is the sound card Im using : I used to use a TBS montego 2, but now am using a SoundBlaster live 5.1 cheers again though
  5. Hi, Basically I can't get opflash (1.46)or the opflash preferences to start (I just get a message saying "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be closed") I searched the forums and elsewhere and have read various instructions on looking up my settings using DXdiag. However, when I run DxDiag, it also closes with the "Illegal Operation message" . If I try and run it again it begins to open and then flashes up a message saying something like "Last time you ran dxdiag there was an error opening the DirectDraw preferences. Do you wish to bypass the DirectDraw settings?" If I say "Yes" then Dxdiag opens (without the directdraw preferences of course) If I say no it closes again. I have directx 8.1 installed (Install went fine) and a Radeon 64mb ddr vivo with latest driver set. OS = win98 any help REALLY appreciated cheers P.S. I did have Opflash (1.20) running previously on the same machine - but have since reformatted the hard drive
