Guys, we are getting off the topic. This is about planes, not choppers. Yes, they can being flying deathtraps but that's for another thread.
I want to concentrate on plane damage. If you get hit with a missile or rocket, your plane should first warn you of missile lock, then give you the option of launching counter measures, then if you get hit, you either 1. explode and die instantly, or 2. your aircraft takes considerable damage. At this point, you should hear alarms and be advised to eject. You aircraft should start to lose fuel, controls won't respond, engines fail, weapon systems become unavailable, gear becomes inoperable , parts of the aircraft should be missing and you should be on fire. Now, if you get tagged by bullets, depending on were you get hit, how much, and what type, determines what happens to your aircraft.
You should also be able to ditch into the ocean or land and not instantly explode. Calling for rescue would also be cool. Real ejection seat animations would be nice. It's these details that could make this game that much cooler.
