  1. Recently our servers (TV2) have been victim of hacking. Not just the ordinary cheating, but really overruling admin rights. I was logged in as official admin (*Admin* behind my nick). Suddenly my character started doing push-ups. Right after that I got banned (no I did not ban myself) and the server was shutdown. It seems like a hacker took over the server, possibly via some kind of remote control. The required config for Rcon is not on our server, so it shouldn't be possible to use it. What happened, and what can we do about it. This is a major issue.
  2. They will still be able to use the hack as it spoofs an official BIS addon-key (genuine game content).
  3. What I meant exactly is that Spayker's idea is against privacy laws. You can't just give out information like the player ID.
  4. Most likely it's also against privacy laws.
  5. To get back on this: yes, they can: - make you say things in chat - make you do certain moves (they made me do push-ups) - kill you - teleport you - make you fly - execute code on your character - ... And this is only 1 of 12 main parts of the hack.. However, I read that BattlEye has been updated and that the hack is now having trouble getting through. I'm afraid, though, this won't be for long..
  6. Not really the solution what I was hoping for. Is BIS working on this?
  7. I guess I found the program that does it all too. Any BIS official can send me PM when working on this. I will give you a link.
  8. We have only signed addons. They are: OA Expansion VopSound RH Heli sound mod TR Tracked Vehicles EliasSound
  9. The die hard realism fanatics can always turn off the options they want. If they're off by default, the game will be too hard for new players, which won't do selling the game any good.
  10. I really loved the mini campaign. Some plot twists, really stuff you wouldn't expect. Also several easter eggs makes me give BIS the big thumbs up!
  11. Recently (with the latest betas) my game CTDs a lot with the ACCESS_VIOLATION error message. It happens when playing large multiplayer missions, like Warfare BE. The guys behind the ACE mod think they found the cause of it: It happens when people having the latest beta are playing on a server that doesn't have the beta. When a person with an older beta joins, the crash occurs, mostly for multiple players at the same time. I have no evidence to confirm this, but I also don't have any against this theory.. An example of the error message: ======================================================= ------------------------------------------------------- Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0053A3A7 Version 1.04.61974 Fault address: 0053A3A7 01:001393A7 C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\beta\arma2.exe file: WarfareV2_050Lite (__CUR_MP) world: Chernarus Prev. code bytes: 0F 5C D0 0F 28 C1 F3 0F 11 46 10 F3 0F 10 46 48 Fault code bytes: F3 0F 10 61 78 F3 0F 10 6F 04 F3 0F 59 C2 F3 0F Registers: EAX:263D048C EBX:00000000 ECX:00000000 EDX:00000165 ESI:14F48034 EDI:016DF6C0 CS:EIP:0023:0053A3A7 SS:ESP:002B:016DF678 EBP:016DF698 DS:002B ES:002B FS:0053 GS:002B Flags:00010203 ======================================================= note: Minidump has been generated into the file C:\Users\Bart\AppData\Local\ArmA 2\arma2.mdmp Full error report and minidump to be found here: http://rapidshare.com/files/324169523/ArmA2Crash.rar.html
  12. You might want to look in your arma2.rpt file to see what's the error. You'll most likely find that it is the inaugural "out of memory" error. If so, vote for bug 6004 in the Community Issue Tracker at dev-heaven.net.
  13. After less than 5 mins of multiplayer my game freezes or CTDs with the message in arma2.rpt: Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 009137BB It's the same error message each time, even the address the end.
  14. VRAM is indeed Video-RAM. I have no clue what can cause the Out of Memory issue on the dedicated server.
  15. That's what the topic is all about. Everyone else in this topic is getting the exact same error message.
  16. I added this bug a few days ago to the Community Issue Tracker. It might be worth it to give a vote to the bug to bring it to BIS' attention. http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/5796
  17. If you don't know what FADE is, you should try searching YouTube for "ArmA-2 FADE". If you want to play without the DVD you can either get the Steam download version or play with the latest beta patch.
  18. I got this error and it doesn't matter what graphics detail you use. Also, a 1GB card should more than be capable to handle this game... The optimal system specs on the box say that you need 512MB or more.

    ArmA2 8GB RAM Problem

It has been fixed since beta patch 59928. I'm not sure if these patches can be applied on the Steam version. I'm using the 505 version.

    ArmA2 8GB RAM Problem

Sure he's in the right thread, but this problem has already been solved a thousand times in here..

    ArmA2 8GB RAM Problem

Search the forums... Use the -winxp parameter, or install the latest beta patch.
  22. The "out of memory" error is still there in beta 59928, although I have the feeling it takes longer before it occurs.
  23. I love you BIS! Performance went up insanely with these beta patches. I haven't crashed in a game of 3,5 hours. That's a first! Keep up the good work!
  24. Keep up the good work BIS, this is going in the right direction! Performance on the mainland improved very much. There's still work to do on the shores, though. I just noticed the 59875 beta is up, I'll be testing that one tomorrow and report my findings.
  25. The "out of memory" crashes are still there :( And as said before: LOD switching is less, but overall performance went down.
