I've tried tried the search & rescue mission five times now. I destroy the UAZ and about 6 men. Each time, I stand in front of the pilot with no enemy units anywhere to be found, but he still won't join. Either some of the enemy are fleeing before my arrival, or they are spawning in the wrong location. I think the captive should become part of the group when the player is near. I'm pretty sure he wants to be rescued. He doesn't look very happy.

v0.13 I've had some problems with two of the side missions. The Search & Rescue mission, to rescue the pilot. There is an error displayed shortly after accepting this mission. I was able to reproduce it every time so I didn't write it down. If you can't find it, I will write it down. Same mission, I searched the entire green square with my squad, killed all the enemy, found the pilot, but he never joined my team. A message popped up telling me I had 5mins to complete the mission and after that time, all dead enemies, the living pilot, and the blackhawk wreck vanished. Later but same game, I selected this mission again, same errors appeared. However when I arrived at the location, there were no enemy units and no pilot. No wreckage either. Same mission, the 0~0~1 radio briefing gives a description for rescuing a reporter from a house. -------------------------------------------------- The Combat Air Patrol mission, I completed it successfully but it was mainly due to luck. I was about to give up. I shot down all the aircraft without problem, but the ejected pilots needed to be killed in order for the mission to be successful. Not sure if you wanted it this way, but they could be potentially almost impossible to find. Same mission, the 0~0~1 radio briefing gives a description for a water assault mission. Requiring me to destroy all boats. --------------------------------------------------- Other then that, everything has been running very nicely. Great stuff. P.S. I still don't know what that phone is for......

There's a phone in the ammo crates, what is it used for? It would be nice if it called in an artillery or air strike.

When I cleared Delores, it gave me a passcode but said it was for Cayo. I cleared Cayo beforehand and got a different code. I'm sure it's just a typo (in the blue print). Also, If I order an AI into the GBU Harrier he cant get past the Air to Air one. It's too close, he just sits there or he crashes and dies. The two 5T trucks (open and covered) are too close to the runway I think. The AI also won't move past them after landing. Only tried this once though. To get around this, I have been making them eject over base. The aircraft respawns shortly after they land, and they can go again. It's probably easier this way, but it feels like I'm cheating. Anyway, I'm going back in for more.

Thanks for the city pass codes. For anyone who doesn't understand :- this allows you to restart the mission, enter your rank code and the codes for which ever city you have already cleared so you can be pretty much where you left off, but with no errors or cleared towns. It's a good way to keep playing / testing while it's still in beta stage. Thanks again Kronzky.

I started v0.81 from scratch, cleared the first two closest towns without any errors, then..... As I approached Cayo, I watched the spy plane pass directly over the town without issue and no enemy units were detected on the map. So I was obviously wrong about that. However as I entered, the same error popped up again. I restored my save point outside the town and sent my men in without me. Same error. I restored again and went back to base and shot the crew type prisoners I had captured (I got extra points for this too, by the way) then went back and entered the Cayo area again. I saved again before I entered just to keep the wasted time as a possible sollution. Same error. Then I restored and drove back into the two towns I had cleared to check if all enemy vehicles were gone. They were. I drove back to my holding point, saved, and went back in to Cayo. Same error on approach. I kept going in to Cayo this time and before I got there, I was told that the town was "cleared.... Good Job, etc..." There were no men in the town except the Officer but there was a single lone shilka (crewed) just on the outskirts. ----------------------------------------- I'm quite a fan of the code for rank setup, would it be possible to implement the same thing for towns cleared??? This would at least make the testing a little more fun. I don't know how many more times I can clear Paraiso and keep my sanity. Cheers for all your work and fast updates though. It IS much appreciated.

I'm getting the same error as PaveQ (the moveincommander.... Error Zero Divisor) It seems to start when I'm halfway through my second town. As a result, all my subsequent towns have little to no AI, but there is a huge number of Shilkas - all empty and on top of one another or in very tight packs. I can take out about ten shilkas with one rocket and my rank goes straight up. I noticed that when the spy plane crashed the errors stopped for a while and then restarted when the spy plane came back and was over the neighboring town. I'm thinking that after the spy plane respawns the first time he is triggering the towns to generate soldiers. Maybe if the pilot was a resistance dude this wouldn't happen. Although it's very strange that only PaveQ and myself have experienced this error. Cheers.

It's at the following link for those interested. If changes are required, let me know. The Flash Install This was not meant to be life changing, just time saving. @ Compression issue; Not a huge saving. Â My complete package is 1.08GB. Â WinRAR drops this to 750MB. Â Although I have no reason to compress it as I have both a DVD burner, and a ridiculous ammount of HDD space. Â I have never bothered to backup my .msi package. Â I have it on a removeable HDD, which I can hot-swap. Â You may be able to burn yours to an 800mb CD if your drive supports that. @ benu's suggestion; This may indeed work. Â But by just adding the two registry settings suggested, the install will not appear in the Add / Remove programs, and may not update when applying new patches. Also from examing the various entries created when making these packages, there are more created then just those two. Â You may only need those two to run the game, but I prefer to have things as official as possible in order to avoid complications.
-
That's fine. Â I have no intention of "rocking the boat" at all. Â I will write it up tonight, and if the topic isn't locked by tomorrow, I'll post it.
-
Firstly, this cannot be considered as any form of piracy. Â You will still need your CD to start the game, and you will have to already have the software in anycase. Â Furthermore the size of the final package is almost the same as your entire OperationFlashoint folder, i.e. Massive. To answer your question on backing up: To successfully backup any program you need its registry additions. Â You may include the registry or SystemState data, in your backup, but along with that you will be getting the registry information for every program on your machine. Â If you were to restore this registry, you would overwrite the current one. Â Any programs or updates (including windows ones) installed after your backup image would no longer work properly if at all. Also, as I mentioned, .msi installed programs have the ability to repair themselves, should any files become corrupt. Lastly, I'm not going to defend against the piracy suggestions any further. Â This is a legitimate method for installing programs, and is accepted as such across the entire I.T. industry. I know that you weren't accusing me of anything, but I don't want that sort of debate here, I'm just offering to contribute something.

I have been playing this game since the first day the pre-release beta demo was released. It's all I play. I have all the original, separately released CD's, i.e. "Cold War C.", "Red Hammer", "Resistance." For someone as lazy as I, having to reinstall all of these as well as the various patches, addons and mods is about as inviting as head-butting a brick wall. As I am also not very arty or creative, and can't contribute to this community as much as I would like, I thought I would write a little guide to make reinstalling the game an absolute snap! For those who didn't know, network administrators create Microsoft Installer Packages (.msi files) for rolling out software on multiple client machines accross the network. This saves them the trouble of manually installing and configuring programs on each machine. Creating an .msi file for Op-Flash. allows you to re-install the entire game, fully configured with whatever addons and mods you like, in one simple click. Msi files also have the ability to repair your installation should some minor problem pop up.. If anyone is interested in knowing how to do this, just let me know and I will post some step by step instructions. As i said, I'm quite lazy, so I won't bother if there is no interest, but I am happy to write one up otherwise. If there is any interest, what format should I make the guide in? (Word .doc, .html, plain .txt file, etc.) To delve further into this area yourself, download and install this freeware program; http://www.ondemandsoftware.com/SP_Download/wiLE2003.asp The instructions contained in it are quite simple, and most of you will be able to work it out for yourself. One note to be aware of is the requirement for a "Clean Reference Machine." You do not need to have a "Clean Machine" if you are making this package just for the PC it was created on. Also make sure you always keep a seperate copy of your game user profile. If you do reinstall using your .msi, your profile will be reverted to the state it was when you created the .msi package. This is a very minor oversight and also as simple as just copying and pasting it somewhere safe. Let me know what you all think.

Yeah thanks for your help Bosun. The version I had, did not have any instructions in the readme. The new one does, as you know. -
Opening doors & gates via command ??

I had an old version. Just got the new one,, all solved. Thanks. -
I am using the Aircraft Hanger from the AGS Industrial Pack, and would to know if it is possible to start the game with the main hanger doors open. Does anyone know the command for this? I have emailed the creator but an auto-responder says he is away untill 15th October.

I had most of the same problems as everyone else, but forced my through errors to finish the campaign. One problem I haven't seen mentioned: Evac Helo has behaviour not set at careless. Example; mission "decapitate", as mentioned above, this is one that has enemy activity at the extraction point. I was fortunate enough to encounter only one enemy soldier en-route to LZ. (maybe a BMP too, if that was the same mission) Anyway, After the squad had boarded and we lifted off, an enemy machine gunner started firing on the heli. Instead of flying off to take us home and end the mission, our wonderful SOAR pilots decide to attack the machine gunner. This would all be well and fine, but in five attempts (load from savegame) at it, they never fired a single shot. They (the Chinook with my squad on board) did countless figure-8's around the enemy machine gunner's general area, untill the enemy gunner had either shot the chinook down, or killed me through the fuselage. I had to bail from the heli (as I was onboard when I last saved) kill the machine gunner and then re-board the chinook. Of course, reboarding involves ordering a team member to disembark and then re-mount,, so it a little punishing. This was not the only mission that this would happen in. Basically, if there was something to distract the SOAR pilots, they were only too happy to oblige. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Below; a couple of minor things I would have liked be included. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aesthetically, it would be nice if you would add the camo faces to the BAS units. They come with the addon, instructions in the readme. They look much better with their kit on. It would also be nice if you would add the script to control the goggles. You need the goggles to be down when you disembark the chinook, so you don't get that vision problem. As most of the missions start inside the heli already, you cannot access this feature untill you have disembarked. Also, I think it would be nice if in some missions, the heli would land for a regular disembark rather then us rappeling each time. Just to mix it up a bit is all. Bottom Line; I enjoyed the campaign, good work!
