How many (and which) space marine chapters and guard units are you going to make??? I'm already wondering about the great variety, it's gonna be a huge pack! And good to see there are some other Wh40k enthusiasts in this community

I want to have a map like that! But I don't think my printer could do this maybe BIA can ship one with the next VBS1 releases
-
how would vbs1 users know about that? the VBS1 engine is kind of the OFP engine. but VBS1 is developed by BIA, which is Bohemia Interactive Australia, so basically BIS, too. And they must have very close contact when you compare the contents of the OFP sequels and VBS1. back to topic: as said somewhere else, I can't imagine CM making something else than a copy of what OFP1 was and BIS' OFP2 will be. How else could they try to live up to the statement that this game they're doing is going to be one for the flashpoint fans? I think they have to say and show us something official before they make anymore proud statements in some forums. BIS has done that and the community obviously likes it. So if there is a competition, BIS has made at least the first points

BIS broken with CODEMASTERS?
-ASO- Farandir replied to DFP-Tim's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
I really wonder what's going on behind the scenes... What is CM thinking? While there have been some examples of other sequels being developed by different developers and having success anyway, I doubt this will happen when the original developer has an own sequel that seems to fully comply with what the community of that game wants and even exceeds all expectations. The only thing I can imagine at the moment is that CM copies somehow the concepts of BIS or tries to make something different which, because of their wich for money etc., could end up more arcadish, even though they keep repeating Until I SEE something by CM, that is just a very hallow statement. -
I've found it (used the links by WargamingNor). Great article! It's good to finally read something written by somebody from the community. And damn, what would I have given for the insights you had...

BIS broken with CODEMASTERS?
-ASO- Farandir replied to DFP-Tim's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
CM couldn't have been grilled at E3 'cause AFAIK they weren't even there. Well, since there wasn't any statement about the splitting of BIS and CM explaining why etc. we can only guess what the cause was. Now it seems like CM wants to make profit out of the name they own. Seems quite naturally since they must have paid at least some money for it... but if there comes any good out of it........... After BIS showing pictures etc. at E3, if CM wants to do anything that is noticed by the community, they should show something soon. we will stay loyal to BIS anyway, that's for sure. -
BIS broken with CODEMASTERS?
-ASO- Farandir replied to DFP-Tim's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
well, even if they're gonna publish some game with the title OFP2, whatever BIS has in the making will be the true sequel to our beloved OFP!!! but i'd like to have some clarity in this, too. -
as long as whoever the publisher will be has no say in the development of the game and they keep to what they announce here, I don't care who publishes it (ok, the price should be reasonable, but hey, what is a reasonable price for a game like that?)

i guess the whole interaction thing is meant by that: you can talk to anyone you meet (well, probably not opfor, they will shoot you before you can talk to them...) and they tell you things they saw, where the enemy is for example. all that what I've heard sounds like the game I've been dreaming of! booyah!

Armed Assault - should the name be changed?
-ASO- Farandir replied to theavonlady's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
of course they can... -
Just to set some things clear about VBS1: there is no upcoming VBS2... those announced modules are just that: additional modules that you can purchase for your VBS1. so I don't think BIA does the work for BIS in developing a new VBS2. It's rather the other way round: BIS developing a new, or updated engine for OFP (1.5 as in OFP:XBOX) and VBS1 profits from that. So since features like destructible buildings und multiple gunner positions become possible in VBS1 (in what quality remains to be seen), I guess that must also be possible and available in OFP:AA.
