Indeed, you got it right, it's the Caproni Stipa... with a Tiger Moth's Gipsy engine in it, it had apparently less performance as a ducted prop, than the conventional shape of the aircraft alone! Ran, you're up!
-
That is neither the MI-24A nor is that OFP...

Here's the next one... sorry for keeping u waiting... Double points for who names the special thing used to make this one! Â

What's with the helo NOT exploding in the end?
-
Seeing that CSJ made a Shark apparently, will this mod "laserize"-it?
-
Erm, this has nothing of OFP in it... Shouldn't it rather be posted in a real video thread? Besides, there already was an OFP movie presented with more or less the same story, except it didn't play out in Chechnya...

Check this page of the Armed Assault Videos Thread...

Hate to ask about it but... you know what I mean... where on the OTH Radar is this baby?

Ah, it seems that United Nogovan will fly to Sahrani after all!!

Deanosbeano, please, I did not want to be understood that I was thinking that you had used any of wizzywig's or anybody else's stuff to do anything!!! I know your stuff is 100% original!!! And it's amazing at that!!! Keep it up!!!
-
Nice stuff, deanosbeano!! Reminds me of wizzywig's Tomahawk for OFP! But, contrary to the looks of it, it seems you have a sturdy building there as target!

Beautiful video, Walker!!! I must make a confession: I vowed not to touch ArmA before I homage OFP with a video and maybe something else as well. The machinima is finally in the works and does tie in to ArmA a bit, but OFP is the first game I reinstall everytime I sweep clean!!! ALL HAIL OFP!!! The King is not dead, for the prince hasn't managed to slay it completely, so to speak. Let's just hope that CWCR will be able to bring OFP back to ArmA!

The problem with OFP is that it uses the CPU and RAM intensely to render EVERYTHING on the map most of the time and it really bogs the system down, is unable to take advantage of multiprocessing... Let's say that maybe if you had like a single-core 10GHz CPU with huge amounts of RAM and everything running at an extreme FSB, you might be able to run OFP with everything maxed out, but as it stands, it's one of those programs destined to occasionally stutter even on current top-of-the-line systems. AA: Anti-aliasing. (Related to sharpness). AF: Anisotropic Filtering. (Related to viewdistance rendering, I think...).

I have to disagree.. In Iraq it's morally acceptable to fuse religion and politics together. Either way.. It's always political. It's about power. Politically-motivated conflicts have a chance of ceasing, sooner or later. Religiously-motivated conflicts are much harder to solve, and apparently last forever (most of them). That was the point I was trying to make.

Hey CSJ, that boat is reminiscent of the "East Armored Boat" from OFP - guess it's been refurbished for ArmA... Looking good!
-
Nah, looks to me like a new prototype for a Pope-mobile...

Actually, the first Jihad video posted was removed from youtube and was different, this more recent Jihad video, it's been posted before (so this is the second "run" this video has been posted). Politics aside, I wouldn't believe for one second that any troopers at an outpost would be standing still after one of them had been sniped. That's just plain dumb irrealistic. As for the rest, oh well... IMHO this violates Forum Rule no.19, for portraying senseless carnage...
-
The withdrawal will happen, sooner or later... What remains to be seen is wether the iraquis will calm down afterwards or not - the issues at hand between them are ethnic and religious, not political as was the case in Vietnam... oh well...

Nothing new? Progress deleted?

I must say I'm amazed every time I upgrade, although, as already mentioned, some stuttering is still encountered, but if I had perhaps more and faster ram (I have 2 x Kingston 1GB PC5300 667mhz DDR2) and OFP optimized to run on a single core of my Intel C2D E6600, I might have better results... Still, the biggest improvement comes from my graphics card, I don't know, but somehow the 7950 GT 512mb DDR3 makes a difference, better lighting all around, with HW T&L enabled in OFP. Also having a Raid 0 of two Raptor hard drives doesn't hurt. Now I can finally organize a real machinima to be made by my clan!

Night Patrol Addons: DKM Mod Bronco; Jelhalabad island. Lipany at night, models and textures maxed out, viewdistance 5000... Addons: None -
Recently there's been so much hype about this one... Well, I don't think one could call it a game really, it's an entire VR dimension. The first time I've heard and read about it I didn't pay alot of attention, but that was some time ago. Now it seems that it's a really big thing with CNN doing coverage of future internet discussion panels in which the future of the net is thought to be in 3d and, apparently, "Second Life" comes second to nothing else in creating the "Metaverse" as described by Neal Stephenson in his must-have novel, "Snowcrash". I was wondering if anybody of the community is present there and what they're doing - since addons are the spice of life for OFP, and "Second Life" is all about creating stuff, I was kinda wondering if there would be any traces of OFP there?
-
Haven't had the chance of trying it out, but before I do, Iet me just ask again, if "Second Life" is any good for learning how to model stuff? I mean, I've briefly tried my hand at Gmax and Wings3d but really haven't gotten the grip of it, although I'd really like to be able to model stuff, do you think "Second Life" would be easier for a complete modelling newb like me to learn modelling? Also, is it possible to export models made with "Second Life"? If not, I don't it would be worth the try - after Project Entropia I think I'll rather try out Anarchy Online...

Modern Armored Recovery Vehicles?

Thanks, BlackScorpion, I know about that truck, and for a dump truck, I think I'll try Mapfact's Nogova Mine Ltd. Ural dump trucks which are nice as well...
