Btw, after you're done with this in OFP, would you be considering porting these to ArmA, or if not, let D@nte port them to ArmA? 'Cause I am really enjoying these units! I think this and D@nte's UNICON stuff would rule in ArmA!

While I don´t really see much sense in this kind of debate, pigs indeed have a multibillion "saved lives" record. Ever heard of Diabetes ? Ever heard of the way Insuline was "generated" before they found a way to create it artificially ? Chances are so extremely low that I or you will ever be saved a dolphin, while chances are quite measurable that you or I will be saved by a pigs Insuline oneday. Balschoiw... It's one thing for an animal to save you on its own initiative, without any other help or assistance, another thing is an animal being taken advantage of to save human lives... Â

I was only stating the utilitarian point of view by the way which the majority views the two animals in question... but talking about questions, your point made me think of a multi-million dollar question: Are we the (supposedly at least) smartest animals because we eat the meat of the smarter animals instead of the dumber ones, or not? Or are we afraid of smart competition?

Balschoiw, it isn't because somehow a single dolphin got to be famous on a show that everybody is upset by slaughtering of dolphins. And to go along with your pig story and to establish a comparison, it MIGHT have happened already, but I don't think that pigs saved more humans than dolphins have, so far. Once again, that is tied to the fact that in water we're more helpless than on land and don't need to be rescued that often, I guess... But hey, there's common sense in us wanting to protect some species that actually is more beneficial to the whole of mankind while it is alive rather than dead, in detriment of others that are regularly featured on menus. People may know that pigs are butchered in cruel ways but naturally won't give a damn compared to dolphins which may one day save their lives. How many times did you think your life could be saved by a pig, if possible, and how many times do you think a dolphin could save your life, if possible? Think about that. And, whilst you're at it, think how many places feature pork meat on their menus, and how many feature dolphin meat... It's just a given fact that dolphins are more useful to man alive than dead and therefore humans care about them than pigs which seem to universally be destined to serve as food. So it is only natural that the vast majority of people will abhorr any brutal behaviour towards dolphins, and not give too much of a crap when a pig squeals on a spit waiting to finally succumb to it's last breath...

Balschoiw, I must say that whilst you may have a point, let me offer you a different perspective. It is my true oppinion that we should leave marine animals alone. Why? The water is not our natural habitat. Our habitat is surface ground, which we share with all manners of animals, like cows, chicken, pigs, etc etc etc. But the marine animals we really should leave alone. It's already bad enough that we use the world's water masses as our most popular sewers, where millions of tons of toxic waste is deposited every year, but to go after sea life is just unnatural, in my oppinion. I bet the human being could live without a diet based on marine animals. And one day, it actually will have to, because the seas are being over-fished... @ CsonkaPityu: Although I've never been saved by a dolphin, we know enough about them to say that killing them is shooting ourselves in the foot, for if possible one should save your life, I bet your oppinion about them will change real fast... There are few animals that go out of their way to help human beings, they have never posed a threat to us (go into a pool with a hungry dolphin, and go into a pool with a hungry shark... which one will you survive? ) , I think it's the utmost stupidity to kill such animals, be it for survival or sports or whatever...

Yeah, OFP still seems to have the upper hand with regards to editing, which is why I've finally decided to commit myself to try my hand at island creation, especially for this sci-fi scenario... I was thinking of trying my hand at creating some icy landscapes, which would also kinda justify the cool armor and helmets, since if conditions were any better soldiers would fall into temptation of taking all the hot-looking armor helmet off... Besides being lag-friendly of course...

Hey D@nte, what did you have on your mind in terms of armament for the APC? Just curious... And, would you consider releasing a beta of the APC as soon as possible? Of all your stuff it's the thing I like most, I must admit...

I'm not a member of any official VBS forums but I do have to wonder if there one is able to talk about OFP/ArmA. If yes then I think it would be gross discrimination if one wouldn't be able to talk about VBS here... I'm holding out my choice in this vote till when I get an answer. I mean, one thing is to pay alot more to have access to something better than something that is otherwise available cheaper, another thing is to somehow limit the communication on said issues... although of course this is an official forum and such communication could also be practiced on inofficial forums... It's just that THIS forum for us seems to be "THE" place to be...

Nice stuff, Mr Duck! I do agree with redpride and reiterate that such a transport really deserves a configuration similar to the Aerial Hunter-Killer addon from "Terminator" as made by XPETIT and available on OFP.info - IMHO the best VTOL craft available so far, but it's a pure air-to-ground thing with 1 pilot and 1 gunner, not a transport like yours... As for the pilot, it should have some wings visible somewhere (the pilots should be able to show his earnings! ) Can't wait for this!
