  1. True, but look at how many things are wrong in Medal of Honor and they do have military advisers working with them. :p M16A4 in full-auto, baby! At first I thought "Well, since it's not set in the present day perhaps some of these guys are using the A3 a bit more." but it turns out it's actually an A4. FPDR
  2. He makes an interesting point. Now that I look at it more closely, it seems that CM's M16A4 is a cross between an A1 and the A4, with some random tacticool features on it. I'm going to go out on a limb and say CM does not have military advisers working for them/with them anymore...
  3. Exactly what I was thinking when I saw them. I think the objective is to make them "kewl" but they just look like they're 100 years old now.

    Which to buy??

Get a few friends together playing some OFP and it's still a blast all these years later. :D
  5. Well, if you recall the trailers for DR boasting the number of polygons on a single grenade, or the detail in the animations for the SCAR, and then how it actually turned out at released... Lol. And don't forgot how the PC version of DR was supposed to have high-resolution textures and models.
  6. I'd imagine they're all quite low due to console constraints, and are "hidden" behind layers of carefully crafted shaders. I don't imagine the PC version of Red River being anything other than a console port, so I expect the same thing on the PC.
  7. Bulletbiter, now you're simply being difficult. :butbut: Let's try to at least keep this civilized, lol.
  8. You're still considering purchasing it, though, even though they still confirm that key aspects of the Operation Flashpoint brand, namely the mission editor and mod tools, are not planned for the game. Hell, they don't even seem to care despite the outcry: Why the hell would you consider giving these people your money? It's like paying someone to beat you to a pulp...
  9. Ben, most of us are angry at sheep considering buying Red River because they have simply ignored all the bullshit they pulled with Dragon Rising, and are continuing to pull with Red River. I cannot understand why you would even consider buying the game when they have treated their "community", all 20 of them after the release of DR, like shit. Those who continue to buy into their lies are simply fueling them to continue such disgusting practices, and are becoming sadistic punching bags with money to blow. Edit: Oh, and why are the weapons in Red River painted in some tribal paint scheme or something? The M16A4 is already brown, green, purple, maroon and black. Either the soldiers, for whatever reason, have painted their guns, or that's one hell of an old M16A4 and definitely not one I'd see a soldier carrying into battle given the surplus of them in the USMC.

ArmA 2: OA Beta Build 72967

What the hell would posses someone to mix them? Retail or Sprocket version of Arma 2 - Retail or Sprocket version of OA - Sprocket version of the BAF DLC. Steam version of Arma 2 - Steam version of OA - Steam version of the BAF DLC. It's pretty much common sense. If you buy it on Steam then you should know that Steam has it's own method of patching that every game on there follows, thus you should not necessarily apply the same patches you get for the retail or Sprocket versions unless you know it's safe to do so.
  11. You guys realize that is Jerry, right? :p

Why is this game not more popular?

I too would consider myself an above-average MP player, largely thanks to the huge amount of time I spent in PvP tournaments and having good teachers (Celery, Infamous :p ). However, I don't find myself getting screwed over by the animations to take out a launcher, pistol or my binoculars. I can't think of any other way to put it: you're doing it wrong.

Bought BAF - textures still bad

Ah, that's just slow LOD-changing then. Happens from time to time, especially in a performance-demanding scenario. ;) I actually agree with Lhowon, the British units do make the default OA content look dated in my opinion. They're very high quality.
  14. None. Everyone I've talked to about it either has it already, doesn't want it, or doesn't have a decent PC/a PC at all/like PCs. :butbut:

Bought BAF - textures still bad

One thing I have noticed is that Arma 2 is telling me I have two BAF mods running, but one is obviously BAF Lite. So I get two icons in the bottom left of the screen, and two mods under Expansions: You can see the one I have highlighted in the second half of the picture is BAF Lite due to the low-res logo. I highly doubt it does, but maybe that has something to do with what you're getting? It'd be good to at least have the BAF Lite entry removed as currently it just looks odd. Perhaps someone from BIS could comment on the matter.

New recoil, please make it go away

I've been playing with super AI turned on and both friendly and enemy skill levels set to full since OFP. :butbut:
  17. I do think that sometimes BIS makes some odd design choices with their campaigns and official missions, such as in mission 2 they forced the player to use a convoy of Jackals. I'm sure they know how bad the AI are when trying to act as a convoy, but they put it in there anyways. It is a bit strange... The SP scenarios are excellent through-and-through, though. However, I certainly didn't find it lacked narrative or drama. In fact, I'd say the monologues the main character makes are a bit too narrative and dramatic. :p I definitely enjoyed it a lot more than Operation Arrowhead or Harvest Red. In terms of the ArmA series so far I'd have to say it's underneath Eagle Wing for best official campaign.

Arma 2 & OA to Xbox and Ps3

Put all the console gamers in one room, put all the PC gamers in another. Ask PC gamers if they like realism in their games, a huge portion of them will say yes. Ask console gamers if they do, and most will say no. The consoles are designed to be casual, therefore the majority of their audience want to play casual games, not realistic ones. It's a cold, hard, fact, and I know there is an audience for realism on consoles, but it certainly won't make the developer or publisher enough money. My suggestion is if you want realism buy a PC and experience how it's meant to be.

    Can`t Open OA PBO`s

As I said, it's probably no different to the release of Arma 2, or the release of OA; community tools had to be updated to decrypt the new encryption. It'll probably happen eventually. You'll just have to wait like the rest of us. ;)
  20. I wonder if, with all the reposts of my picture on the RR forums, it'll end up as a picture in the credits of RR with Sion doing something stupid, like when he put the pistol in his mouth with the "As you can see I've taken a hit to my head. It's nothing serious, but I am bleeding badly" wallpaper. ... Gawd I hope not... :butbut:

    Jelliz's missions (SP)

Nice one, Jelliz! Going to give it a go soon. :D Might I recommend you submit it to the OFPEC beta testing boards, so that perhaps you can get some more detailed feedback and, if needed, assistance?

    Can`t Open OA PBO`s

The hell does not being able to decrypt the pbos have to do with the campaign being dedicated to fallen soldiers? And yes, I will say that I think it's very likely people will figure out the encryption and update their depbo tools once they have. I think it will happen when the threat of piracy of the DLC has more-or-less subsided, and at that point BIS will probably remove the DRM from OA as well. Be patient, it'll probably be no different to any other BIS release.
  23. You cannot stop a committed troll if he's hiding behind many IP changers and proxies. :p

Lets do bad review of ArmA II

Y'think? He posts a rant and then doesn't seem to want any help. ;)
