Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3

Great trailer and production value, crappy story to put all that effort into recreating.

There's a module you can apply to your suit that makes you almost entirely invisible, but still not fully. If you don't have it, it hides you as well as it did in Crysis' multiplayer (i.e. okay from a distance, but you're screwed when really up close). Also, here are some gameplay videos I recorded: dDbBObpFk8k mbFQE-koQXY

In MP perhaps, judging solely from the demo, but through watching the footage of the leaked beta single player campaign I'm pretty sure it's still full of the open sandbox segments, just inside NYC instead of some random fictional island.
  4. Okay, now I'm extremely impressed. The only issue I can see there is I think the firing camera-shake is a bit over-exaggerated, but the rest of it looks awesome.

I find the entertaining part of this being some of the weapons and, more importantly, the abilities of the Nanosuit. My best experience so far was having a guy on a static machinegun right beneath me tearing my teammates apart, so I jumped off the side, did a 180, pressed C which sent me into a power stomp, and landing right on top of him. Then I was free to detach said machinegun and go on a rampage against his team instead, with the aid of the cloak and armor modes. It was certainly fun.
  6. I died a little inside when he almost called it a reboot... Codemasters, into the fiery pits of hell I cast thee.
  7. Upon further testing I see significant improvements, particularly in the campaigns.
  8. It's hardly a challenge, nor does it require much effort, to add -mod=@OrigAnims (or something like that) to a shortcut target line and place said mod folder under your Arma 2 install folder. And guys, come on, it hasn't happened yet so it's not a "dumb move". If you must stay with it being "dumb" then at least use more appropriate terminology like "proposition" or... Something, as all it will do is make the lesser-informed of the members here jump to conclusions. Keep calm, it's not the end of the world. ;)
  9. Now now, guys, calm down. ;) If the changes do continue into the 1.58 final patch, you've hopefully seen from the PROPER team, the SLX team, and the TrueMods team, to name a few, that it's pretty simple to change them in a mod, so it's likely to be equally as easy to change them back. Then you can wait for it to be reverted in peace. :) Or you can always just use the beta that came out before this RC.

There was just as much, if not more, bloom in Crysis and Crysis: Warhead. Same with the motion blur.

I could use another fast-paced unrealistic competitive sci-fi FPS that isn't Call of Duty, to be frank. I just wish MyCrysis wasn't dead at the moment with no ETA on a fix, but to be fair, almost every MP beta/demo released nowadays has the same issues at the start.
  12. With that magic bag, the game's officially a Call of Duty clone. That's what all these videos show it to be, at least. It can be played as one and you won't be punished at all for doing so. In fact, it seems to encourage it. Bye OFP. :(
  13. Here's a list of all the missions and their corresponding codes, in chronological order: Yes, the naming system does not seem to make a whole lot of sense to me either, but that's how they're defined in their mission files' names. I'm sure there's a reason for it, though. :p

Definitely downloading when I get home. :D
  15. The animations aren't improved, they're just sped up. They're the same animations as before.

    CD Key Problems

Why exactly did you buy a DVD copy if you knew your DVD drive couldn't read it? Why not go with Sprocket or Steam? That leads me to believe you haven't actually purchased it. Piracy is not tolerated here.
  17. I don't know how you could say that when OFP/ArmA/Arma 2's editor's potential has only ever really been fully tapped into once, and DR's... Hasn't, and probably won't ever be. Island War is no where near as complex as Abandoned Armies. In fact, Island War may be DR's editor's fullest potential, as you have nothing else to gauge it on, heh.
  18. No no no, they're going for authenticity this time. It's different. I swear!

Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3

It's already confirmed to be a hoax. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/115/1152216p1.html
  20. Hm, by "OA only" you mean you don't have Arma 2 installed? Perhaps it's the combination of Arma 2 and OA that causes it then. I figured it may have been because at the time of my recording I was using mods, so I disabled them and tried it again just now, but the issue remained.

    fox's small projects

That's a shame, fox. :( I can only hope you're making this decision while informed of the situation. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. ;)
  22. In all fairness most of these press guys probably play the game on the lowest difficulty. I've heard many times that despite being the guys always called to play these new games on display for reports, they are some of the worst gamers ever. :p On the other hand, if they kept the same definition for difficulty as they had with DR, then the difficulty setting shouldn't be affecting the AI at all, in which case is it just me or did the AI get dumber?
  23. My sticky'd thread states it, actually. Though I have amended the FAQ to indicate it more clearly. A simple search for something similar to those 3 steps you posted would have revealed many other posts in the past explaining what you have to do.
  24. Have you tried changing the value for AToC in your ArmA2OA.cfg file from 7 to 0? TrueMods does it to but, to be honest, I don't like any of the tweaks done to animations by mods so far. They're just like these ones - they look far too unnatural and break immersion entirely for me.
