  1. That's probably dependent on if the version number stays the same between this release candidate and the final release. Just to be safe I'd recommend backing up your Arma 2 folder before installing it.

Libyan Air-force ordered to bomb protesters

Compared to the roles of the French and British so far, the Americans are taking a comparative back-seat to this situation precisely because of the problems they know they have. Backing out of this under the excuse that it's a Libyan problem would be just like backing out of Rwanda because it was a Rwandan problem. There is a significant chance here for a genocide of at least the people of Benghazi for being where the protests sprouted from which, don't forget, started peacefully until Gadhafi ordered his forces to start killing them.
  3. Yes, perfect way to open your complaint. Start it with slandering the guys who could potentially fix your issue in the future. Personally, that made me stop reading the rest of your post. Let's try to not be so dramatic.

Libyan Air-force ordered to bomb protesters

There's always those who feel the need to play the Anti-Christ just for the sake of playing the Anti-Christ, especially on the internet. Well, I also presume Spokesperson's Russian, and his government abstained from the vote, so like the rest of us we feel an inclination or want to side with our governments. :) I believe what we are doing is just. I fully support the UN in preventing the inevitable massacre of the Libyan people, and the aiding of the rebels in ousting a man who is quite clearly insane from his position of power. I find it very hard to believe someone defending a man who one minute says there are no protests in his country and no unrest, and the next is asking for safe passage to flee his own country. If anyone here needs to be paranoid about the liars in this, the first person you should be looking at is Gadhafi himself.
  5. wipman - Any info on what graphics card you have? Because I have a very similar system to yours: Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit Service Pack 1 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz Graphics card: Gigabyte nVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 1GB RAM: 2GB DDR2 RAM @ 800MHz If you have a graphics card in the same-ish range as mine, I can fully guarantee OA performs at the level you wish it to because that's what it does for me on the following settings: And these are a few examples of how it performs: Main menu on Desert: 60 FPS Alone on Takistan: ~50 FPS "From Hell" mission in the OA campaign: 20 - 40 FPS Benchmark: ~30 - 40 FPS For reference, I'm running Arma 2: Combined Operations at 1.58.78967 with both the BAF and PMC DLCs and no mods. If you have a graphics card similar to mine, I'm sure you'll notice a (good) difference provided you're like me and regularly virus scan/defrag/clean registries & temporary files/format. ;)
  6. Please read the forum rules. You already have one thread on this subject. If people have an answer for you, they will tell you in your first thread. Creating a duplicate will not make them answer faster. You just have to be patient. ;) Thread locked.
  7. If you haven't played with OA since 1.54, you do realize that it's soon to become 1.59, yes? Perhaps it's a good time for you to try out CO again. Heck, most content these days requires OA, most patches come out for OA, and even without 1.59 it's still at 1.57, which is still a significant leap from 1.54.
  8. I can't think of too many headlines I'd rather see here than ones containing the phrase "Red Hammer Studios." I'd just leave it at that. :p Awesome work as always, guys! :D

Please try to choose a thread title that better describes your problem next time.

Still, there's no reason to post the same message in 3 different places. Please don't do it again. :)

    Team DA and AAA Redux

Man, you try to be nice about closing a thread and people still come on later claiming you were bitching at them... The scope of this problem has been pretty limited as few have been complaining about it. If the scope was as wide-spread as you claim then there would be many more threads here complaining about it. So far we've only had one thread complaining about it, and two threads later either clearing the name of those involved or saying thank you to them for drawing attention to the problem. That leaves the number of threads complaining about it at 1. The biggest problem I see at the moment is those posting about it, including yourself, whether intentionally or unintentionally, are artificially inflating the scope of this problem to make it seem worse than it is. I have yet to see any solid proof to the contrary. But there's not much we can do no matter the scale unless we get information about the server from those on/running it. Are you using BattlEye? Do you have signature check enabled? Do you have the new signature check running that was introduced in the beta patches? Do you have admins regularly checking in on the server as people play? If the answer to one of those is no then it's something you should quickly look at rectifying if you wish to avoid such problems, as what you describe seems no more than a low-level scripting hack which would likely be blocked by such procedures.
  12. Seems there's this, too? Found it through cycling through each of the pages just by left-clicking them.
  13. Wat. You must be trolling. Unlikely. Could be addons in use, could be random mismatches due to patches or differences in versions if running beta patches, could be many things. If those correspond to vanilla files they are unlikely candidates to be modified to give their user an unfair advantage.
  14. wipman - I guess you missed that the 1.58 RC included a 1.09 patch for Arma 2 content, yes? ;)
  15. Well, what can of "breed of gamer", per se, still agrees to buy a video game at full price after they are lied to about it over and over and over again?

    From Hell 1.57

Make sure you walk over to him close enough for the conversation to occur. Once you notify HQ that you've rescued him his Apache is supposed to come, land, and he gets in it to help support the assault.

I did read your post, and I did see what you posted after your comment, but your comment was still you used to think ACRE was a piece of shit. Anyone should be aware of how such phrasing can be offensive, regardless of whether or not you follow it up with saying that's not how you feel now. Why choose the phrase "piece of shit" in the first place? Just because PR has seen worse in your opinion doesn't make it okay for you to do something marginally "lighter". It's an attack because you are unconstructively criticizing peoples' work that they do in their spare time for free and make no promises on meeting deadlines, therefore they are allowed to take however long they want. That usually results in the best mods too. You're not owed anything by them. I don't understand why my fellow moderators and I keep having to explain this to certain members of the community these days. Man, everyone likes to think I'm using my status to intimidate people. You guys seem to know me better than I do. My post was not a flame bait, my post was a moderator instruction. If you choose to take such a thing as a flame bait then so be it, I don't care so long as you follow it. My intention was not to incite an angered response from yourself, nor was I mocking, teasing nor belittling you, therefore it is not considered flame baiting by the forum rules. Again, if you choose to think that's what I was doing, that's your prerogative. And if you wish to continue this discussion then send me a PM, as we do not have to clutter up this thread with this anymore.

That's nice, attack two mods in the same day. A search for work you've created reveals nothing, so please point me to evidence that you can do better than them. Until such time keep such comments to yourself.
  19. Yup, was just reading that. Why do they still have fans after such things?

plz help meeee to play the game

That error typically comes up when you have your target line set up incorrectly when using beta patches. Are you using beta patches? If so, make sure your shortcut's target line contains something like this: Edit: Scratch that, I can see from your picture that you're running unpatched. W0lle's answer is your best course of action.

Japan hit by 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami

I made a little video of my own over the last few days to hopefully further inform people about the situation in Japan, and to encourage them to help out in any way you can. I can only hope that it does some good. :) t8qgGQ8N07I

I find myself using the phrase "it could have been great..." far too often in gaming these days. Oh lowest common denominator... :(

To TeamDeadly & AAA Glad you Chipped in

While I appreciate the spreading of the anti-cheating attitude throughout the community, you guys are blowing the threat posed by these two way out of proportion. There's no chance in hell two people, let alone one who can still apparently be influenced by his or her parents, will do any harm to the community no matter the degree of their delusions of grandeur. As far as I'm aware, they were only targeting your communities as well, and I believe that has stopped already anyway. There is also no need for three threads on the same subject. Now, by all means keep fighting cheaters but... Try not to over-dramatize it. It usually only gives them what they want. ;) Thread locked.

Nope, I'm just following procedure. And since I'm following procedure, and this thread has stopped being anything close to constructive, the next step to take would be to lock it. So it shall be.
