Am I the only one who disliked the futuristic approach?
Zipper5 replied to ray243's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The art style looks great, in my opinion. It's a very well-presented futuristic look. Not distant future like Battlefield 2142, but not present day either. -

I tried CMSF a while back and it really was not the kind of game I enjoy. Granted, the only RTS I've enjoyed since Age of Empires II is Shogun 2.

Great to see you here, Brad. Welcome to the community, and thanks for the endorsement! :)

COOP 10 Chernarus Apocalypse, part one
Zipper5 replied to celery's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Works fine here. -
BIS' patches work on a when-it's-done time-frame, and always have.

Sounds like a cool idea. Might happen sometime in the distant future. Will not happen. :p Sorry folks, I try to make missions with as few addons as possible (or none at all) so as to reach the broadest possible player-base. There's nothing that I find more annoying than updating all of my ACE installation to play a single mission poorly put together that ends after 10 minutes of average gameplay, and that's something I definitely want to avoid with my own creations.

That's an engine issue. ;) -
Because the campaign wasn't designed to work with ACE. ;)

Survey: Which engine enhancement would you like to see?
Zipper5 replied to maddogx's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Well, people seem to forget that even Dragon Rising apparently used Havok physics and... That didn't turn out too good. :p -
Awesome project and results so far, very much looking forward to more stuff from you in the future. And for that, I applaud you good sir. Keep up the good work. :)

You've been here since 2009, more than enough time to know our forum rules:
-
Why exactly did you create two identical threads in the span of two minutes? Also, please read our forum rules: Since this one actually has replies, I'm renaming it the same as the other one but closing the other one.

You may believe that it seems you're the only one, but that's because I've been deleting the posts of all the incessant & impatient spammers who keep cluttering this thread saying "IM BORED PLZ RELEASE INFO SO I DUNT HAV 2 WORK ANYMOAR" with the interesting thing being that most of them haven't contributed to it at all prior to their post. With that in mind, thanks for reinforcing my point. I haven't handed out any spamming infractions yet for stuff like this, as well as other useless posts in here, but if the cases get extreme then it will start happening. Be warned.

Hitman 5: Absolution announced
Zipper5 replied to CriminalMinds's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Hitman: Absolution? Aw... I was hoping for Hitman: Subtitle. :( -
Thanks for the feedback, guys. Version 1.20 has been released. :) Gamefront Mirror (All mirrors are appreciated!) Changelog:

Looking at some of those videos, the PLA would still carry out D-Day-style landings in this day and age?
-
Just found that weapons finish reloading way before the animations or sounds finish playing. Edit: Happens only in multiplayer it seems.
-
I'm aiming for sometime today. :)

Another tester reported to me that the objective there that you're stuck on doesn't complete because most people don't kill all of the crew of the Ural with the AA gun on the back, up by the Mi-24. Make sure they're dead then go up to Aziz and capture him, it should hopefully continue properly after that. It'll be improved in 1.20. :) Edit: That other tester = Celery. Damn ninja. ;)

It's a shame it's made you think that, as a lot of thought was put in Combined Arms. In some cases, more than other missions of the campaign. It has randomized objectives & enemy strengths, reinforcements available or not available depending on your actions in previous missions, and your actions in it will determine how parts of the rest of the campaign will play out. :( You're the first person to complain about its difficulty. I'll see if I can balance it out better in any way without breaking the intended difficulty of it.

Zeroing scope for AI player
Zipper5 replied to Kommiekat's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Moved to the correct location. :) -
Little tid-bit of news: a better solution has been implemented for having the guerillas join you on that attack if they're needed. It shall be in version 1.20. :)
-
Hm, when attacking the village you should have American armor (from the east) and a CDF mechanized infantry squad (from the north) supporting you. Did they not join you in the attack? However, the outnumbering of you in the part before the village is intentional, as the area was just swept by American armor (mission takes place immediately after the OA mission "Pathfinder") and Takistani Militia forces spontaneously moved in to "fill" the gap left by the decimated Takistani Army defense that was there. It's meant to be a surprise that there are that many Militia forces. :) I apologize for the difficulty, but although it may be unrealistic, playing as an outnumbered force, I find, leads to some of the most tense and engaging gameplay. I hope you persevere through it nonetheless.
