GLT OPA Kill Double - Hiding of duplicated objects
Zipper5 replied to [GLT] Legislator's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Are the ones which are kept the OA duplicates, or are they the Arma 2 ones? Hopefully you kept the OA ones. Great idea, nonetheless. Very helpful for me particularly! :D -
OA Campaign: Performance issues
Zipper5 replied to thomsonb's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Well, if you look at them in the mission editor, there aren't THAT many AI on the map. Not a ridiculous amount, at least. Scripts running in the background, however... -
Damn Placebo, reading that just brightened up my day! :D

OA Campaign: Performance issues
Zipper5 replied to thomsonb's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
There's only one real explanation I can come to with why BIS' missions perform so poorly, but every other one performs fine - the amount of scripts running to make them playable in both SP and MP. Many checks, many loops, large scripts and calculations constantly happening the whole way through the missions. Adds a lot of strain to your computer. -
The color module also changes based on the weather and time of day. Oh, and the effects module generates actual sand storms. ;)

Lol, voice acting and a floating crosshair stops you from buying a game you think looks amazing. You need to sort out your priorities. ;)

Operation Arrowhead performance optimizations/comparisons
Zipper5 replied to jpinard's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
There's no fix for that issue. I believe it was introduced when BIS started the whole -exThreads=x thing in the beta patches. It seems to not affect some, but no one knows why. -
Operation Arrowhead performance optimizations/comparisons
Zipper5 replied to jpinard's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Actually, I dunno if you noticed, but there's a pretty large following behind their game. -
Thanks. Microsoft certainly give no indication they care about PC gamers anymore, especially with the fact that the only decent port of HALO to the PC was Combat Evolved, as HALO 2 was incredibly buggy and required Windows Vista due to the then pay-to-play GFWL. Hell, GFWL is another example of how Microsoft don't care about PC gamers anymore. It's funny though. The launch of BF:BC2 showed that PC gaming is far from unprofitable, what with the PC version of the game selling more than on either console...

Operation Arrowhead performance optimizations/comparisons
Zipper5 replied to jpinard's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Nope, I chose to remove it myself. Wasn't worth wasting my time on. Looking through his posts, finding that he's been talking about torrenting OA and reporting them was, though. :D -
Harris you cannot save. The guy you can save is the one who gives you the code, who is in the larger building.

What happen to those 80 peep Team vs Team PvP servers?
Zipper5 replied to Eotore's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
IC:ArmA was one of them in the ArmA times. It's still around in Arma 2, just under the name Charlie Foxtrot. However, I wouldn't go looking to Arma 2 MP if you want anything other than a coop game nowadays. -

Advocating piracy on the official developer's forum is never a good thing to do either. ;) -
I don't think there's been any reports of discs being defective, just that the SecuROM has some occasional, temporary issues. It sounds like you're having one of those. Have you tried leaving the disc in the drive for a while and seeing if it is eventually read? I presume you've also tried simply taking the disc out and then putting it back in? Some people have reported these to make it work, I think, off the top of my head, MadDogX had a similar issue.
-
That's quite weird, STALKERGB. What happens when you hit the enter button? Anything?
-
Yup, seems that I fixed the issue. I've released a hotfix v0.15.

Well I thought there was more than enough standing between you and the SCUD to occupy you... You want to rush into enemy fire on ATVs? :butbut: ---------- Post added at 03:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:44 PM ---------- Well, Cole just sent me a picture of what I presume is the problem you're having. Are you getting an error message when you load up, and/or is the marker 10km away pointing north east from where you start? The strange thing is that it works completely fine on my end. Perhaps it's because you aren't playing it with Arma 2 and OA, I.E. Combined Operations. It seems that the error message is about a tent, Land_A_tent, which I presume is the "Old camping tent". I guess that wasn't included in OA. I'll see if I can replace them with a different one and if that fixes the problem, which I'll then upload a hot fix for. However, keep in mind that I'm making these missions using Combined Operations as noted under each of their mission names in the first post. So if you don't have it expect to see some errors. :p

The code is different each time you play it. Make sure you enter it correctly. If you do, then it will successfully disarm. I've played the mission many times and it's worked each time. You don't have to complete any objective before it in order to work. Just find the dead hostage, go to the room which will either have one Takistani soldier and the guy with the code, or just the dead guy with the code. If he's alive, get close to him and he'll tell you the code. If he's dead, then search his body for it. Once you have it, enter it exactly as you saw it and hit the enter/return button on the keypad. If you did it right, it'll successfully disarm.

Take a few seconds to read what's staring at you before you ask a question that's already been answered many times. ;)

It's the CDF colors...

I don't know if this is considered an Easter egg, but it's pretty well-hidden. Set the date to December and use the new Effects module. Now go play in the snow. ;)
-
You guys know that the topic description actually says this, right? You don't have to put spoilers in the spoiler tags here. ;) Anyways, if you find the guy alive or dead, you can still get the code. If he dies, you should get an action when looking at him to search his body, which will give you the code. If he's alive then, obviously, he'll give it to you after a short conversation.

I made a looooooong time ago back in ArmA and when I was still using WMM. :pIt might be made with ArmA, but it still works exactly the same in Arma 2.

That other "failed experiment" mission I mentioned is now up. It's called SCUD Valley. Check the first post for more details. ;)

Hey guys, v0.3 of Black Gold is up. See the first post for more details. I gave up trying to make the mission work in both SP and MP, as it was causing too many errors and it was too unpredictable. Making it SP-only has allowed me to at least make it a better mission for the individual. I've got another mission coming which is also one of these "failed experiments", I guess you could say, so stay tuned for that. In the mean-time, give the new version of Black Gold a shot and let me know what you think, especially if you find any issues. Thanks. :) In the future my missions will return to their usual format of having both good gameplay and good stories, so don't worry about not seeing any more of those.
