CanadianTerror, Yes, the modeller has pointed out that there was some problems that after a certain distance the tank seemed like an Abrahms (sp?) Needless to say, it'll be fixed. But thank you for notifying us. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hellfish6, Although the 'ofp-rush' has receded in the past year or so, OFP community is still large. In a very large and extensive online forum group in Japan, the OFP users' Forum still gets question if they should buy resistance to use BAS's addons, BOH, etc, which tells me something - OFP's still growing in Japan as well. Quite frankly, I think I saw more OFP packages in Japan (that is, when I went back to Japan during the summer) than in CompUSA and other American computer store though (Well, the only thing I saw was Red Hammer with a discount tag of $12.99... Americans tend to like no-brainer games, I say.) -

I'll tell it to the leader as well. __ PFC_Mike, I've read Debt of Honor by Tom Clancy in Japanese At first I thought Clancy was too unrealistic in its ending, but then it did really happen didn't it? Now, I have to ask ya; did you read Rainbow Six? (oh, this I've read in English (i.e. English language) for the sake of SAT vocab building ... quite a nice excuse to read a fun book. If you're a high school junior, try it once ...hell, I have to study for that test) hmm... SARS? Misanthropes? Terrorists? ...nah. -

Hellfish6, Thanks a lot for the bug report. I'll notify it to the mission members. 9mm, We did try to implement Asian faces by default, but we didn't know how to do it at the time.... Miles Tag, Yeah, in OFP AI engine, OH1 doesn't have too many uses... but it's there for the sake of it. Also, I'm working really hard in making the terrain right now (gee, making road that looks good is quite a challenging thing to do, ain't it?) which will pull out the importance of using landscape as a cover, and OH1 might come into play for recon missions. theavonlady, Thank you for mirroring the addon. Japanese users reported that the MOD will load fine with the -mod option, but also reported that if you keep putting the addon back and forth from \ofp\res\addon\ to \ofp\addon\ it worked. I really appreciate comments from all of you. Really. -

MOMO, 3) Thank you for the comment. I'm supposed to be responsible for translation, but there were some (frankly, most of them) missions that I didn't get to translate and had to make the mission programmers to do it. Without a doubt the English will be polished on our official release. 2) Speaking of Japanese sounds, that's the exact thing that came up on Japanese OFP community as well. I've been diligently looking at description.ext and in fact trying out some recording of Japanese voices (ex, "who are you?!", "Don't move"). Hope I can make enough stocks of them that will be usable in the official release. As for (1), Mr. Jyotohei, the leader (kindda) of the project, said that he used UNIX type enter (whatever that means). Yeah, sorry that it sounds like excuses, but just wanted to point out that all of your feedbacks are exactly what we are trying to fix. Hi, I'm one of the BOH members (translation, terrain and music) We will appreciate constructive critisms and feedbacks as we are trying to polish this MOD to the best of our potential. As of now, I've heard that if you have TOW's M249 installed, the addon names will conflict, which will be fixed ASAP, so the leader of the project suggests not to make a SP mission for this release of BOH. We also see a few buggy parts and minor problems which definately will be fixed (ex. Vulnerability of Type89, some things that are "not so good" etc) For those who have problems running the mission, the mission patch is released as quicKsanD has pointed out. Hope you'll enjoy the beta release! -

I think the reason why it takes longer in NamPack is because they have set the accuracy of each guns lower than those that we see in many addons, which is one of the many reasons why I LOVE NamPack, along with the claymores Try to play as a US Soldier and shoot a target. You will notice that the weapons in NamPack doesn't always land on top of the crosshair.

Speaking of Laser Designator, what is that thing that looks like a tripod on the Designator? In the real world, can you set it somewhere, and extract leaving the designator?

As for non-addon spotlight, you may use an M2 without any bullet in it. Put it on top of a skyscraper and reveal the player and do M2 dowatch Player or something like that.

However, I don't know if "3rd person view is bad" is valid... Well, when we see things, we usually "see" 60deg. and "sort of see" +-170 degrees. When we play on PC (1st person) we only see... uh... 50degrees of the eyefield. However, with 3rd person, you can see about 160degrees. Oh, you may say that we can use POV on our joystick, but you cannot move your head as quickly, and also the range that you see is still limited. Also, there are floor windows on choppers, right? (As I recall from MSFS)

Guys (or ladies ), does this 3D glass thing improve your eye vision? I read somewhere that stereographs are good for recovering vision, so maybe I can use that as the 'excuse' for adding another inventory to my gaming experience lol

Kamikaze is popular, ain't it  btw, when I have my joystick, I can fly 160 @ 2m AGL. Joysticks forever!!! I recently had the honor of dropping 2 AI squads into a insertion point - right near those Christmas trees I wish there is a "expert flight model" for OFP, ex effect of torque, etc... I think OFP can push a bit more on flight models, though current flight model is fun, and the infantry AI (which is the main concern) is fabulous.

Can any of you guys Emergency-land on OFP? I tried forever trying to land w/out any fuel, but even the most smooth landing turns the poor pilot into a BBQ. (What I do is I push on the stick a bit to gain speed, and when I'm a bit low, I simply pull the stick and lose speed and rate of descent. When my rate of descent is good but the speed is fast, I rotate 180d to lose speed.)

I am making a cutscene of a SpecOp training of retreating. I was watching discovery channel on military training, and I saw a scene where men lined up parallel to the streets and frontmost troop firing full auto until his magazine ran out then retreat, then the next frontmost fired... and so forth. I was trying to do this on OFP, and I used the fire command to fire AK74 (I thought SpetzNatz looks cooler) at the corner of street. The only thing is, when I do </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> _P dowatch _TGT;tgt is a game logic _P dotarget _TGT fire ["AK74SU","FullAuto","AK74SU"]<span id='postcolor'> a) the soldier shoots up at the sky (which isn't that great) and b) the soldier fires about 3 shots and stop is there any way to specify coordinate to shoot a weapon at? Oh, and I tried to put another WEST soldier as a target and setdammage 0 him each time he was killed. The only thing is that the AI was not able to recognize him after he was killed a few times.

Sorry again. It seemed that RPG soldier attacked the barrel, but the rifle soldier didn't. I think I will bury an invisible unit underground.

I'm not too clear on how to use OR wpts and AND wpts. I saw a tutorial on OFPEC, but I didn't get it at all... Does Gamelogic have speed set on them when they move from wpt to wpt?

thx guys. I'll try to change equipment from AK to PK. By the way, in R6 series games, I see that there are machine gunners, demolition specialist, and marksman (sometimes with a shotgun). Does anyone know what the "real" Spetznatzs' equipments are? Do they all carry AK74SU and 3 C4s or are there machine gunners and marksman and demolition specialist?

It turns out that I'm making a CQB_Save the hostage kindda MP Coop mission. What I did is (made the player and the playable to land over a factory in Nogova), I disableAI "Move" the chopper so I can control it precisely. I made .. I don't know.. about 60 wpts for chopper so I can control him precisely as well. When it was time for my men to disembark, I set the chopper's wpt to 'HOLD' and coordinated its placement so the chopper will stop at exactly the point I wanted it to stop. I was successful in putting the chopper over the INS point all the time. ...The only thing is that each time the aircraft's behavior updates along the patches, the success rate (of landing) changes... Whoa... I didn't know that there were this much BS's in the OFP community... Here... imagine you making series of new addons and an island and better netcodes and enhanced AI and (blah blah). If I was BIS, I wouldn't simply give it away for goodness' sake. Just understand how hard it is to make even 1 addon. I can see all of the "Resistance=futile" believer's point of view if one of them would make these for free. 1) a new netcode - Nah... 2) bunch of new units with descent tex - Nooo, it can't be a retextured model 3) a new campaign - Please, not one of those where you can finish it by saying "All, Danger. . . All Engage at will" 4) a new island - No, don't make Mt. Bald - add trees too. ......pph.. Oh, and I'm soooo sorry for posting on a such a s_itty thread.
