I think what he is saying is... Operation Flash Point 2 will become a more enjoyable game. I have heard from various forums too that the professionalism and attention to that particular companies involvement with ironing out bugs is important to them. I'm not saying Bohemia doesn't... but thats what I think the thread starter is meaning?

Greetings, Now some of you may have been experiencing the following error with Arma: The game loads and you start a mission, during the mission you might get into a vehicle or press "M" to display the map and the sound locks up then your PC produces the following screen or reboots.. Here is the error: Here is the fix: Make sure you disable Catalyst A.I Note this is not an Armed Assault coding problem but inflicted through the ATI driver sets and this lies with ATI to fix. I have tested this on Catalyst 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 and all produce the same error. Hope this helps you guys and gals.

Thought it wouldn't be too long before another problem cropped up from the countless amount that already exist. Night-vision... why does it fade in and out when in use, is this meant to happen? If not why are the Bohemia game developers releasing stuff that doesn't work - do they BETA test or are we the BETA testers for what they call a a final release?
-
Is there any idea whether Bohemia have even accepted there is a parachute bug when your chute opens before you land causing death? It's been around since day 1. I can only assume it can't be patched, or perhaps a future scheduled date will ammend it
-
This issue occurs when you parachute over land were there is a hill, but sometimes on flat ground too. All hear on the Aussie servers is "Damn chute bug", it's happens a lot, 3 times to me in the space of 20mins.

In all seriousness I'd wait for a new patch, the game is clearly rooted and needs urgent attention, perhaps a new batch of programmers that know what they are doing and I say that all all fairness, all I've seen since the release of this game is bugs, bugs and a patch that has introduced more bugs - thats definitely not a healthy game! If other game companies can get it right, why cant this mob? I may be wrong and the game might be fixed with all the unplayable issues resolved in the new patch that currently has no ETA
-
I got the same problem with my x1950 though. I'd put it down to the bad coding in the game. Arma was clearly not ready for release and is still in that boat with the massive dish of bugs and glitches; it's clearly a BETA product - which I might add is a real shame since it has so much potential. Todays hardware struggles with the issues you have or the game crashes with memory surface errors. Fingers crossed for the next patch of fixes and new bugs

Arma seems to be running like a slug with Vista, not sure if the ATI video card drivers are to blame or the coding of the ARMA itself. Since Arma isn't supporting Dual core, SLI or DX10 I figured it probably isn't going to run to well with the latest O/S, anyone else noticed this performance drop?

Already posted in sticky mate http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64943

So these symptoms... are they caused by the patch 1.08 or hardware? From the look's of things the Arma crew aren't in a hurry to fix it, so I'm guessing it's been written of as "deal with it" till the next patch?

I can't believe ppl are having to tweak a game this much just to play it! It's mind numbing to know the developers of this game have the damn right cheek to release Arma when it quiet clearly lacks quality control... ignorance will bite you in the end... i never played OPF but from the vibe around here that too was nailed with bugs.... if you cant get it right with the second timer around with your games then perhaps making games isn't what you should be doing... But that's just common sense.

I've been playing Arma since it's release. I'm finding that I can't enjoy the game as much as I'd like due to the lack quality gaming i.e; Repetitive missions and idiots in game I'm looking for a mature Aussie clan thats serious about the game but with a good sense of humor! The clan must play the game regular and enjoy a beer whilst in game! I'm after good team spirit. I have Vent, TS, and a shiny 32" LCD.

1.08 - Cannot create surface memory texture?
Warpy replied to deevius's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Same issue for me with this memory surface error... it's proof that this game was coded with the intention of not thinking ahead. No SLI, NO Dual core optimization and a lack of testing before they throw a patch out into the wild!! Game is quite clearly not made with the intention of supporting the latest technologies available to make the gaming experience better. I mean why wouldn't you optimize it for dual core, SLI... too difficult? -
I have the same issue with stuttering... the fix is this: Remove the hotfix drivers that ATI said were provided to fix the leak... its the leak thats causing the stuttering - their driver sets made it a whole lot worse, mainly due to the fact they can't code drivers if they were in the business of providing them. I had exactly the same problem - all gone with the latest official catalysts driver but not the hotifx ones.
-
I think it would be ideal for the developers of the game... given that this is the official forum, to give the community some input as to why they thought patch 1.08 was suitable to release. I'm sure the majority here don't take any comfort in Bohemia throwing a patch to the community with over 14,000 views and a bucket load of frustrated people: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64099 and then not hearing one word from the developers with regards to the issues at hand. I understand it's probably very embarrassing- releasing a patch with more problems than before, but it's the right thing to do...

Best comment in the thread... along with the well noted first post. It does seem a little odd and I think Atari need a swift talking too.

Are there any internet sites were it compares the levels of detail with Arma. I realize I can take a screen shot and change detail and then take another screen shot, but when I change detail levels in the game and gives me a blue screen of death and tells me some ATI sys file caused it. So anyone know of any sites? I'm keen to know what terrain detail is, texture detail and the differences etc.

Do you even know what nvidia is?
-
Same thing happens to me... I have to exit the game. The issue was present in prevision version and the version before that too.
-
What planet are you on? This bug was noted by Suma back in February this year - thats almost 6mths ago (many driver releases from ATI since then, in fact they release a new set once a month!! ) and the issue still hasn't been fixed. I believe hundreds of people contributed to lodging tickets with ATI and the issue hasn't be resolved... What is the point in reporting the same crash bug over and over again, are you assuming ATI fix things on the basis of mass volume tickets? I'd have thought that Bohemia's Programmer lodging ticket a ticket in Feb would have been enough.
-
Arma is unplayable for me with the hotfix driver if you can even call it that... Quiet clearly this bug hasn't been fixed and they do not know what they are doing - if they did we wouldn't have a thread loaded with problems...
-
Can we confirm that the ATI handle leak has been fixed? I have rolled back to 6.9 and i have no issues, but with the hotfix from ATI it's more unplayable than ever. I'm not sure how to test, has anyone been able to confirm this? EDIT: Thats Catalyst 6.7 not 6.9- Hard to keep up with all the dam numbers and customized fixes.

ATI Handle Leak - has it really been fixed?
Warpy replied to Warpy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Errrrr... Warpy, doesn't 6.9 ALSO suffer from handle leak bug? I think it's the 6.7 which is the safe version. Yeah sorry I'm also confused with drivers, versions to use what O/S crashes what doesn't! Your right 6.7.... -
Bohemia Interactive; please comment on 1.08
Warpy replied to Donionz's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I've already posted this here: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64313 -
Now this may be driver related but it's driving me mad! After about 10mins of game-play the hard drive starts loading what seems to be textures or something and it causes massive lag. If I zoom into an area it freezes then jolts when i look through the scope of my weapon. Anyone else get this? PC: Intel E6600 ATI x1950 512MB PCIE 2GB RAM
