Whether or not you will see an improvement depends entirely on your hardware, OS and the game itself. For example if you have Vista and a quad core CPU then it might help a little but ultimately it's your graphics card that counts more. Either way it's always good practice to give games a high priority, Vista is supposed to do this by default when playing in fullscreen but it doesn't always seem to work as intended. Otherwise an easy way to do this is with a new shortcut TARGET field: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "G:\Games\ArmA 2\arma2.exe"

There are lots more and it should progress when complete to the next one but BI have released a very very buggy COOP campaign and done little to fix the problems so far. but then they've never been ones for getting "quality control" right before release :) . I had the same bug as you on a later mission, had to re-play it several times before we made it to the end with only minimal bugs. Also remember that any use of Resume/Continue after a death will screw your game, you have to revert.

COOP Campaign Bugs, Respawn and Resume Failure

Sorry just realised, these bugs weren't from Harvest Red but the mission one or two places after. -
Can you respawn in a COOP Campaign?

COOP Campaign Bugs, Respawn and Resume Failure

I get the "voices" bug on Harvest Red too, I think it's the radio station and BI still need to work on their audio engine :) . -
Put an exclusive for the ArmA2 folder into my NOD32 anti-virus and also opened a ton more ports.

Every time we die in a multiplayer COOP campaign mission it flashes up a window with a respawn timer, but nobody can ever actually respawn so the game just fails with a single death (no key seems to work). Very frustrating. Can you not respawn and if so then why the confusing respawn timer message in the first place? This is surely misleading. Also, is it possible to play any of the single player senarios in COOP? You could in ArmA but in ArmA2 you can only do the campaign? What am I missing.

COOP Campaign Bugs, Respawn and Resume Failure
WinterMJ posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I've been trying to play the campaign in COOP with between 2 and 4 of my friends but 80% of the time we're unable to complete the missions, not because of faulty tactics but because all sorts of gameplay bugs get in the way. The bugs and frustrations are far too numerous for me to stand any hope of listing them all, but here are just a small selection. First up I'll start with something that could be a feature or a bug, I simply don't know. If just one of your squad members dies then that's it - game over, this is a somewhat unforgiving level of difficulty as often you can still complete a mission with 3 people. However I can forgive that, but why when you die does it pop up a screen saying "20 seconds to respawn..."? Surely this is incorrect as you don't respawn and no option to respawn (I tried pressing every key), the game is just over for everybody. Now to the main bugs. MISSION: Harvest Red 1. The Arty option you have under 'Communication' seems to vanish at random during the course of your mission and for no logical reason, making destroying the enemy base an exercise in repeated suicide. 2. The Transport option under 'Communication' sometimes seems to vanish as well, albeit rarely. 3. ANY attempt to RESUME a saved COOP missions invariably results in masses of different bugs and netcode sync issues between players. Sometimes you squad ends up 5000m away for no reason, others see controls going wacky, map details vanishing, people running into walls, squad commands failing to work. To cut a long story short, the RESUME feature in COOP simply does not work, thus perhaps if players were able to respawn (given a second chance) then we wouldn't need to. The game shouldn't just fail because one person dies, it becomes very unenjoyable after 16 attempts to do something with 14 of those failing due to bugs. 4. During the attack on the main enemy base an allied team is supposed to assist in your assault and radios awaiting for you to give them the go. No matter what menu I check there is no ability to 'Communicate' a "GO" or "ATTACK" command back to get the action started. 5. Sometimes people 'eject' from the helicopter transport at random or simply by changing seats. I've had this happen to me and thus know that it is not an error from having accidentally clicked 'Eject'. In one instance one person fell out and then without anybody doing anything the whole squad dropped out of the helicopter and I haven't even touched my keyboard. 6. Apparently we're supposed to have the ability to use an LAV in this mission, according to the commander it's at our "Disposal". Curious then as there is no ability to enter it, drive it or call for its support in any way from the various and sometimes needlessly confusing command menus. 7. Sometimes we'll start a mission and towns will have NPC's you can talk to in, at other times nobody will be there. 8. When you go to speak with the rebels they don't talk and sometimes one of them hides away inside the chicken coop but also doesn't talk. I've found that the only way to trigger the talk/in-game cutscene bit is to shoot one of them :) . It's the military way I guess lol but shouldn't they respond when you just get close? I've got about 30 other bugs I can think of, most stemming from the use of Resume (we now ALWAYS have to Revert), but the most annoying remains a lack of respawn. I hope these bugs are fixed so that the game actually becomes playable. -
Vista sometimes fails to install all the needed DX9 files for backwards compatibility. Try downloading the latest Web Installer and running that to see if it plops any extra files on your system: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3

Can you only play Campaign Coop on certain missions because I'm never given the option to disable AI slots and I think this may be preventing my friends from joining. We all get the 'Multiplayer Connecting failed' message even with all ports open. ---------- Post added at 05:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:34 PM ---------- Never mind, fixed it.

Where did you get the 23021 to 23 ports from?

This may or may not be more for the 'General' forum, but since I don't know I'll post here as it's making gameplay tedious to the point of being unenjoyable. Essentially I use a Keyboard and Mouse for flight, as with Battlefield 2 Helicopters, OFP and all other games, there is no Joystick port on this PC and I've never liked using them anyway. Suffice to say that every time I try to fly a helicopter, the going up/down and forwards/backwards part is all good, but attempting to navigate left or right is constantly in flux. When you first take off the movement left or right is perfect, rotating you just as my fathers helicopter does in real life, but gain some altitude and move a bit.. story changes. I'm constantly fighting the twitching controls, often holding down the turn or bank left keys or mouse movement will do nothing, your Helicopter will just angle slightly, maybe flip back wildly a bit and not physically turn. The only way I can turn is to get up lots of speed at height and do a steep bank and even that's problematic, but small tactile manovuers of any kind don't work no matter what you're doing. This is very unenjoyable and can't be right, I think some extra work is needed for those using a mouse and keyboard to control because the ability to rotate left or right is kind of important =). By this measure my fathers Bell helicopter, which is somewhat less sophisticated than these AH's, could win any air war . Have I done something wrong here or is it intentionally this screwed up? I have the original OFP and it's tough, but workable, ArmA is.. simply not right, as per above. Help appreciated since I can't do some missions right now.

How to play CZ/GER version completely in English

Correct, although the crashing aspect will depend more on your system and the game itself, this only translates language and doesn't alter the games core code. -

Quick question: I read earlier that B.I was concerned about this conversion and warned that it could trigger the anti-crack protection at a later date? Does this problem still exist?
