Yep I was preferably looking for Win2k, but I couldnt get it at a "low" price. None of my friends had it so they could "sell" it to me. But I Did manage to get XP Pro, should be suitable for most games yes. I have 512mb RAM. that should be right for now. I've been using WIN98se for ages now, because its pretty good for compatibility, I can run almost anything I want on it. and it was practical because I played a lot of DOS games. Is win2k able to play a lot of old dos games? I know you can dual boot Win98SE and Win2k, but can u do WIN98se and XP? If I dont, I'll set up some HD Partitions so maybe in the latter if I get hold of win2k, I can still do that.

Yes I kno, And I deeply appreciate how much you guys have helped. You didn't have to but you did so therefore I thank you. The onyl option I have now, is to Format, and start Afresh with XP not win98. Cheers again

nero was using the System aspi all along. I'll try uninstalling it, but I still doubt it will fix things.

I ran Aspi Checker, sure thing ASPI layer was screwy. I used FORCEASPI to reinstall, and everything is on the go, But I'm still having the problem..... Any ideas why? And btw thanks all who helped out, especially Avon lady

Thanx a lot dude, that helped out. I tried getting the latest ASPI Layer from adaptec, but it doesnt work right. So Could u plz post instructions on how to get the old ASPI layer from my WIN98se CD? I'm Running WIN98SE on a new computer, and either Nero or my Pioneer DVR-108 has put a new ASPI on. It's stuffed up everything, and I cant even access my windows 98 cd when it wants to copy system files. I'm trying to avoid Resistance as it did not run on my old computer, which is now my mates, so its hard to play with him having an fps of <10 in res, and 2 56k connections. so OFP 1.46 is the only option. I cant even install ofp 1.00 and run it, incorrect cd pops up. So my last question still stands: Does anyone kno how to put the old ASPI layer from my Win98 cd back on this comp?

Hey guys, I tried to play OFP (1.46) recently but it would not work, it keeps asking for me to put the correct CD in. I do own an original copy of OFP, OFPRH, OFP Resistance. I tried reinstalling it, still no luck. last time I used it my PC had a DVD Burner and a CD Burner setup, and I used the CD Burner drive, could it be the fact that I only use the DVD Burner now?
