I got some (funny?) cars I also would like to see in OFP: Ford Taunus. Preferably 1972-1976 model. Or this type: And perhaps a Volvo Amazon:
-
Perhaps someone could recreate Ibiza? I wanna go party in OFP!
-
I just got an idea for an addon: All characters from the Village People (you know...YMCA!) And you must include their most famous songs! (In the navy & YMCA)!!! Â EDIT: and...and...and I almost forgot... a discoteque with lots of blinking lights! A real 70's disco....yeah baby!
-
Well now, there's an idea! When you pilot a boat (if there will be boats in OFP2 of course...) it would play "In the navy"! And the sight of soldiers doing their morning exercises while "YMCA" is playing.... I just had a crazy idea....excuse me while I run off to the funny addons thread in addons discussion...

*reluctantly finds some pics of the darn Teletubbies* ...better yet, have a look right here!
-
...and Norway! Put in some sheeps and wolves in the next pack.
-
How about some Teletubbies addons? I'm dying to put an RPG in a Teletubbie Or a Postman Pat mod?

Hmmm you never heard of cowtipping? Read on: http://www.outofthinair.homestead.com/cowtipping.html http://www.pastiche.org/wiki/CowTipping http://www2.hot1.net/~sdorsey/cow-tip.htm Just do a quick google on "cowtipping"...  What missions and classes  would be cool in the nudist beach mod? Play as a peeping Tom? Or play as a guard chasing the peeping Toms off? Oh my dirty imagination....
-
Goes into  mode... I want (in no particular order...): -A nudist beach addon (with naked folks...) -A Baywatch mod (with Pam of course!) -Tippable cows (with some great cowtipping missions) Snaps out of  mode... Hmmm did I really write this? Â
-
Any of you read the Tom Clancy book "Red Storm Rising"? Something along the storyline in that book would've been great. At least include the fighting in europe, Iceland and perhaps from Soviet/Moscow. Maybe they could get Tom Clancy to write them a story... (but with Clancy doing the writing, and as I said in the music thread, one of the bigshot movie composer doing the music...I think the budget for OFP2 would be pretty hefty...OFP 2 would probably cost more than VBS1 if it were to happen... but hey, a guy can dream can't he?)
-
I'd be happy with more from Seventh, and maybe other songs that are the same style (I'm an old-school metalhead, so anything with some really heavy guitar riffs are good... Â ). It would of course be cool to have some bigshot moviescore composer making some ingame music (like Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri etc...) but I think the pricing on these guys rule that one out....

Update: Flashpoint2source is live again. All information and data has been restored, and everything is running as before. So, except for 48 hours downtime, nothing has been lost. I still consider backups as a good thing to do, backing up the sql database in a nuke install takes perhaps 10-30 seconds... I'd say it's worth it.
-
Things are moving along now at least. They will move my domain today, so I at least can get a page up that explains matters. They've also (more or less...) promised that all data on the server I had before, will be retrieved. So I'm awaiting this, and hopefully don't have to start from zero again. To all members at flashpoint2source; There is a full DB backup from the day before this happened (29/8), so in worst case scenario (they can't get anything off the old server), only members that joined in the 24 hours from the backup to the downtime and forumposts in this period are gone. All other should be preserved. Anyways, as fast as I can get FTP access to the new server I will put up a static hmtl page that explains matters, and will be updated untill I know if they get the old data or not. Hope you all have patience while this plays out, and hopefully I'll get the source up tp speed very soon. After the preliminary explanations from the host, it would seem they can't be blamed at full lenght for what has happened. They have at least offered me refunds or upgrades. DB backups on a daily basis will be implemented now, it was every other day before.

Thought I'd just give a quick update to what's happening. The server is not up and running yet. The last message I got from my host, was just a few minutes ago. Basically, they have no clue as to when or if at all, it will be up again... So, they are contemplating moving all domains on the server in question over to their own main servers. But they will then delete all content, and I will have to set the site up from scratch again. If this happens, flashpoint2source.com will sadly be away for probably a couple of weeks. It's not decided yet, so I hope for the best. But now you all know at least. I'm sorry for this.

As some of you might have noticed, Flashpoint2source has been down since 2300CET yesterday. After heavy inquirements to my hosting company, I still haven't got an answer, but found out via other users of the host what's happening. The server my site (and others) are on, is located at a company hired by my host. They got into dire financial problems and have NOT paid for their internet lines! Way to go... this can only be described as the most unproffesional hosting company I've ever dealt with! Anyways, they have promised that the server will be up and running by midnight CET. So I hope they do that, while I shop around for a new host! Warning to norwegians looking for a host; stay AWAY from xmac.no (they promise an uptime percent wich boils down to 17,5 hours in a year...in one go they have gone way over it!)

Well, since one of my staffers have replied here I might as well. To keep it short & sweet: I'm 30 years old (31 in 3 weeks...ugh I feel old...) I live in Norway, in a town called Moelv. What I do for a living...hmmm...I run http://www.flashpoint2source.com  My regular dayjob however, is in something called Telenor (the biggest phonecompany in Norway), where I work as accounts manager/sales (in the DSL/broadband corporate section). Not the most interesting job, but it pays the bills  Well, that pretty much covers it. EDIT: Ehheehee...I was "reminded" by my better half not to forget her or the dog... So, I got a girl... we've been living togheter for 3 years now. And, we got a dog... a black Labrador Retriever. *note to myself* NEVER forget to mention my girl or dog ever again...

WargamingNor replied to TheLemon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Spam? EDIT: strange things are afoot at the BI forums  EDIT2: banana, chocolate, spam... yummi...lol I'll stop now EDIT3: to keep it on-topic; will we get the official word from you BIS guys on the delays (OFP2 and CWC Xbox) anytime soon? Perhaps you should update the gameinfos on the BIS site, so no more peeps get confused over the variety of dates for releases? -
New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?

Omg...is it possible? Can someone be this blind to irony and other nice cars? Where to begin...? I do NOT trust any publisher on releasedates! Not Codies, not EA, not UBI, etc... you get the point...? The picture I threw in was just to illuminate the fact, not to say that "hey, Codies are a bunch of morons who don't know what they're doing!". I wonder... do you by any chance work for Codemasters? Secondly... I myself am very aware of the seasons of the northern and southern hemispheres. Maybe it didn't come through clearly enough that this was meant as a funny/ironic/etc. remark... you didn't see the smilie I put at the end of the comment by any chance? I'm not sure I can manage to explain this properly to an individual as dead-serious as yourself, but it was meant to be a funny comment, hinting to my point about publishers taking dates out of thin air and throwing around. But I'm sorry if it was misunderstood. Next time I'll be sure to either spell it out or don't use humor at all. Maybe then you are happy and don't do personal attacks... (I know you said it wasn't meant to be... but it comes through that way nonetheless... ) -
New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?

Just to prove again that I don't trust publishers: And, for Australia it says this: But is autumn in kangaroo land the same as spring here, or have they started delaying again already...? Still waiting for the official word from BIS... -

Perhaps it's time for BIS to change this page: http://www.bistudio.com/games/of2.html ...as it still says "Expected release of Operation Flashpoint 2 is late 2004"... -
New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?
WargamingNor replied to TheLemon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
No big surprise... Most is said already in here. ...but: Could someone from BIS please come on here and confirm this? Or are we not worth it? It can't be that hard for someone from BIS to just pop in here and say "yup that's right... 2006 it is". Another thing, is it BIS themselves of Codemasters who has made this projected date? I have a seriously hard time thrusting publishers... especially when it comes to releasedates. Spring 2006 will then probably be more like september-december 2006... if not into 2007 sometime  Bottom line is that if this is true, OFP 2 is still at least 2 years away. Will the community survive this long? I certainly hope so (but I've been known as an hopeless optimistic...). EDIT: just to prove my point in not trusting in publishers... check out the official Codies OFP Xbox site! It still says spring 2004... -
Burris: you are responsible for the death of an baby seal... I still haven't started on any new projects like my Vietnam story some weeks back. Haven't found the right idea yet, and don't have the time either... So I'm just snapping various screenies with no story. These are mainly from FDF 1.3: Click here for fullsize! Click here for fullsize! Click here for fullsize! The rest is only in fullsize (1280x1024)... it's summer and I'm lazy... A beatiful place somewhere on Maldevic Some finnish cops messing about Sunset somewhere on Karjala Just some beatiful scenery... Finnish tanks in action Finnish tanks on a break Roadblock A finnish Sisu keeping guard Some finnish troops guarding the bridge Finnish fighterplanes doing a flyby Somewhere in the bush A nice little "stuga" Addons used: dxdll and FDF 1.3

My OFP 2 site, http://www.flashpoint2source.com is nearing completion. But I need to know what the community wants to see on it? (see this thread for some more info; from the squads&fanpages forum ) Obviously there's not much to write about or show off regarding OFP 2 yet. But my thoughts and ideas so far, has been to include the following: -VBS1 -OFP: CWC Xbox -Independence Lost There will also be some features from the existing OFP games, but here the scene is filled with many very good sites already... so it will not be a priority unless the masses demands it... Â Well, to narrow down what I'm asking for.. here it is: -What kind of stuff do you want to see from OFP 2? -Should I include OFP: CWC for Xbox, or just keep my site to the PC games? -Should I include VBS1? And if so, what do you all want to see from VBS1? -How much should I include from the existing OFP games, such as addons, missions, news, etc? ...in the period untill the blackout is lifted on OFP2! You are all welcome to come with all kinds of ideas, tips, requests, etc. to help me making my site better. Use this thread or mail me at [email protected] (I'm also seeking a few staffmembers, see the thread in squads&fanpages for info)
