Play.com lists OFP GOTY (not Bestseller ed.) as in stock - and sells it for Å9.99 clickie the linkie

The Bear and the Dragon is the one where China goes to war against Russia. Cardinal of the Kremlin is also a great book. My non-war favorite out of the Clancy books is "Without Remorse" (well, there's a little bit of specop insertion in Vietnam, but not much...). If you want to know how John Kelly became the infamous John Clark (leader of Rainbow Six), be sure to read this book!
-
Rainbow Six is a great book. (but I love all Clancy books...) I believe I have said this before somewhere, but two books that portrays conventional warfare in a convincing way and could provide storyline tips for OFP 2, are "Red Storm Rising" and "The Bear and the Dragon" (both Clancy books). Up and until OFP came out, I were an total addict to Rogue Spear - have never looked back since... (RvS = disappointment deluxe - Let's see how Lockdown will turn out!)
-
Yes they were there. OFP Xbox had a stand. No one knows yet if they'll be there or not this year, but all bets are on for them being there. At least OFP Xbox will be showed again I presume - OFP 2 on the other hand... that's the $1.000.000 question!
-
Hmm yeah, they mixed it up last year. Marek were there last year, and Claire from Codemasters pulled off an interview with him... which still hasn't been published. I wonder how many times I have asked for that interview to be published over at the Codies forum...
-
Check out my site http://www.flashpoint2source for all the answers! ...if not, here's the short version; Nope! Don't know yet - Codies usually announces their E3 games mid to late april. Hmmm... maybe Marek or Ondrej have a faint idea... for the rest of us mortal fans in here; no! Relax, I don't you think you've missed anything
-
Don't fear the news my son, because they will enlighten you and your spirit! ...sorry, I couldn't resist that one On topic: placebo; the interview you did at that polish site - is it pretty much the same as the one at hardwired or completly different? (do you spill some more beans about OFP 2?)
-
New gameplay elements will then include fishing for prawns? Well... better just not prawns! I wanna fish trout and salmons too! Hmmm... I have to add a question to the list when I get the chance to interview some at BIS; "What kinds of fish can we expect to see in the game?" and "what kind of bait and fishing gear will be included?"
-
Finally some news on OFP 2! Now, just let me have an interview with Marek and Ondrej, and show us some media at E3 - and I'll be a happy man for a while.

That's pretty much what I thought also... but to my surprise the other day, Norways biggest newspaper (VG) had run a poll on 2005's most wanted games on the 31st of december 2004 (cross platform wise). It passed me totally by, until I saw it here just a few days ago. But the big surprise... wait for it... was that OFP 2 came in at 25 out of the 50 most wanted games in 2005! And on the top 20 list for just PC games, it came in at place 12! My report on the poll! Source (VG - article is in norwegian!) Just too bad they all have failed to realize that OFP 2 won't come out this year, but rather in 2006...
-
Hmmm... did someone forget to take their pills? It's a theory... but let me get this straight: So they will not release it to the general public, but just give away free copies to everyone that's left on this forum? And could you please clarify who's the n00bs and who's the OFP 1337's? Seeing that there's 30 782 registered members on this forum as of now, how many of those is the real deal who will get their free copies? If they delay it until, let's say 2008, what's the number left here then? And... who needs money Making games to give away for free is much better Damn it's could outside...
-
The Queen... baaah Who would want to meet her anyway... give me Marek, Ondrej or hell - just let me meet the cleaning person at BIS! Anyways... Kroky have some good points that makes your mind wander...

Well, the situation is "no information yet"... I've waited for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ever since I first laid eyes on the game way back in december 2001... and the releasedates given over the years (!) have always been pushed back. But I'm still waiting for the game, and still thinks it will rock the gaming world when it comes out. The reason for me having waited patiently for this game so long, and not having lost interest is this; the developers have constantly released information, screenshots, media, given interviews etc. all the way. Not too much, but just enough for me to have retained my interest in the game. I can't say for sure, but I think I would have lost interest and forgotten all about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. a long time ago, had GSC went into hiding and not said a word or showed anything from the game. I understand to some point what you mean, but I do not agree with you 100%. So what you actually mean, is that BIS should not reveal any information or show anything from OFP 2 until the release is one month away? (Because if you put what you said on the very edge, that's what you mean...) Well, if the releasedate at Codies hold (which it most likely won't)... that means we won't hear or see anything of OFP 2 before march 2006... roughly one year from now. You must also mean that at least 90% of developers and publishers are showing bad judgement and have no sense of how to run a business - because most of them give us info on future games more than 1 month before releasing them. Can I ask you if Illusion Softworks is your favorite developer? Because the strategy you talk about reminds me very much of how they dealt with Hidden & Dangerous 2...
-
That were to be expected. Anyways, it's nice to see they're alive I have 2 more questions - although they will probably not be answered either...; 1. Are there any work being done on OFP 2 at all? Or is it completly on hold, until OFP Xbox is released? 2. What are BI's feelings towards everyone here that is waiting for OFP 2? Examples; "impatient crybabies", "poor souls", etc. We all know you care about your fans, but I have the feeling some among us are beginning to get disillusioned - and might abandon the whole OFP franchise (that would perhaps be their loss...). The ultimate question in this, is perhaps; why the decision to keep completly quiet, when the extreme possibility is the alienation of your fans? Oh well, why do I ask these questions... it's pretty clear they will not be answered before BIS breaks this streak of silence. But this is a forum, where we are (relatively) free to express our thoughts...

afugfuye/&%&/47632r¤%#Wf.... sorry, I just had a mild heartattack here... I thought I saw a post from Suma in here... *looks again*... yep.

You mean patients as in lunatic ward patients? Because that will be the faith for everyone here waiting for OFP 2... if we don't get any information soon... Â Â Patience is a virtue someone once said... but then again; someone probably said an enema is a pleasent experience... Â And... that screen is beyond pure evil...

2010 were (hopefully) just an example. The summer 2006 date might not hold (at the Codies site, the date is now 12 april 2006), it could be christmas 2006 or even winter/spring 2007 before it gets released. OFP Xbox is set for june 1 2005 at the Codies site. If we don't get any information on either games before E3, I certainly hope we will learn more during E3! I'm a patient man and a longstanding OFP fanatic - so even if both games will suffer heavy delays yet again, I'll still be here waiting for them... playing good old OFP

New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?
WargamingNor replied to TheLemon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
If you do a search for "flashpoint" at Codies, the first result that pops up in "results from games section" is OFP 2. It says april 12th 2006 as releasedate. Probably nothing to get hung up in, seeing it's well over a year untill this date. But it is something... And, the releasedate for OFP Xbox, is set to june 1st 2005 at the same searchresults. Ah well, just thought I tell ya'll - but you have probably seen it for yourselfs I'd guess? -
Will this have any effect on the release date?
WargamingNor replied to Colossus's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
The rumours about UBI buying Codemasters were just that: rumours! Unless something has happened after senior UK spokesperson, Max Everingham said it was just BS, you can just relax. I reported that the possible buyout were fake way back at the end of august... STORY HERE! So if EA takes over UBI... well it shouldn't concern the development of OFP 2 -
I have mentioned that I was working on a OFP2 site, and I can now invite you all to my site: Flashpoint2source In addition to OFP2, it also covers VBS1, OFP XBOX, IL and some OFP stuff. (which is needed now with the new releasedate...) So, check it out and I will be happy for any feedback to things I can do better!

Hmmm... actually that would be Rogue Spear IMO Â Take it from one who played so much in the sniper room on MSN Gaming Zone that he almost lost his job... Â (... and not to brag or anything... but I started and led one of the biggest and best sniping clans ever in Rogue Spear on the zone...and were at the top of RSSL for a long time - that's Rogue Spear Sniping League. Also made alot of my own sniping maps) ...ah the good old days... Â If it hadn't been for OFP, I'd probably still be playing RS... Â ummm... and to stay on-topic; I played DF2 alot... but never online! It wasn't untill the MP demo for DFBHD came out that I started playing DF online. I find DFBHD and JO quite enjoyable for some mindless online action

New release date worldwide: Spring 2006?

And why is that Hidden? -
Pretty much every Clancy book that's written. (Although I was disappointed by his latest book "Teeth of the tiger" - Jack jr. doesen't convince me, too short and... well... not up to his usual standards...) Personal favorites are: -Red Storm Rising -Rainbow Six -The Bear and the Dragon There are 2 books from Clancy that I haven't read yet - I'm in the middle of "The Cardinal of the Kremlin" right now, and after that it's "Without Remorse" waiting to be read. Another favorite from older times, is a norwegian book (I don't remember the title). It's about a nuclear rocket from a defensebelt out in the sea off the northern norwegian coastline, that accidently gets launched and strikes a local community. The book deals with damagecontrol and the rising tensions between NATO and the Soviet Union - and ultimately ends in war... (sorry for the spoiler, but I think this book has only been released in Norway... or does someone recall this book?) Another book I remember from my youth, was a huge 2 part book about the aftermaths of a nuclear war. It was kinda wild at times, the devil himself roamed the earth and supposedly started the war, and the president of the US ends up living in a cave after Airforce One gets shot down, etc... anyone remembers reading this book and its title? I found it entertaining at the time (could have been around 1987-1988 I read it). I've also read many Alistair Maclean books, and many of his WWII books are great reading! (Where eagles dare, Guns of Navarone, Force 10 from Navarone, Partisans)
