I'm sure this is on every OFP fans mind, waiting for OFP 2. I can actually just break it down into some simple questions; 1. Will OFP 2 be showcased at this years E3? 2. Will BIS give us any kind of community updates, news, interviews, media, etc. etc. during 2005? 3. Will the official OFP 2 site be updated this year? (http://www.flashpoint2.com) 4. Will BIS explain to the community why OFP 2 and OFP Xbox were delayed - and why the 99% silence that's been enforced? 5. I'm not sure if this question should be here (but rather in the Codemasters forum), but I'll ask it anyway; -Claire from Codemasters did an interview with Marek at last years E3. Will we ever see this interview? Everyone else can feel free to add their own questions as they see fit in this thread. It would be nice if Maruk or Suma would enter the forums and answer some of these questions (even just a "no comment" would suffice) - but most likely this thread will be closed... I (and probably everyone else on this forum) can wait for OFP 2 - be it 2006 or 2010. But it would be nice to get some snippets of information from the developers from time to time - it wouldn't have to be very often, maybe once a month? Well, this is just something I had to let out... now let's just see what the future holds for us OFP folks...

Lol, where do you take it from Klink? This one + the one you had with que sera sera is pure genius! I'm still ROFL here...

A little "best of" collection from my own OFP screen thread; First four screens are totally unedited, except resizing. Last one have been touched up a little in Fireworks (Like it better than PS ) So... addons... this is what I remember or think it is; A: OFRP men and veichles, Strike island, Footmunch F-16, the A-6 I'm not sure about... could be Footmunch?, some BAS or HYK units in there too, dxdll, Llauma skies... this is what I remember

Why not? He is, after all, a BIS employee (BIS Community Manager). He moved to the Czech Republic and works fulltime for BIS.
-
Well, I think the "trřnder" above me said it all... This E3 should be a good one. We have waited so long for any info from BIS, that the next 4 weeks will go rushing by. Good news indeed!
-
Since others are talking about their own OFP screen threads in their own forums... I'd just like to say that flashpoint2source also have one... OFP Combat Photography thread I've gone more back to basics again in my screens. Now I only use dxdll and do not edit them in anything afterwards.
-
Well, it's been a long time since I posted anything in here... I'm just posting away in my own screenshots thread and gallery at my own site... and forgetting to post here! But new thread and everything... I better show something then. Just don't shoot me for not remembering all addons used... All images are unedited (except resizing of course). Only used dxdll ingame. Addons... ; Footmunch's F-15E... I think...

If I may be so bold to try and interpret what he meant; It's funny, we all wait for (good) news/information about OFP 2, while it is most likely there'll be no news for some months at least. There... was that what you meant?
-
Look at the (possibly...) bright side... There might be some exciting news waiting for you when you return home Or, you could be disappointed... ( I don't hold my breath so to speak).

Ok, so I made a new topic about this after all.... so sue me As I said in the Land of the Dead topic, the upcoming movie adaptation of Tom Clancy's brilliant book "Rainbow Six" have gotten itself a new director. John Woo were attached as director for quite some time, but now the directing duties has been passed on to Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder is a relatively unknown director, but he directed the remake of "Dawn of the Dead". I for one, thinks this can benefit R6 as a movie. I were never quite sure if John Woo could bring off the book into a bearable movie... (don't get me wrong, Woo is a talented director and has made some impressive actionflicks... but his style would have been all wrong for R6). Zack Snyder said before the release of "Dawn of the Dead", that he made the remake from a fan's point of view of the original movie, rather than just his own vision. And as I said elsewhere, I think he did a good job on the remake of DotD. I'm just dying to see who's gonna play who in the movie... that's what's gonna make or break the movie for me the most. I would really want Willem Dafoe as John Clark and Raymond Cruz as Ding Chavez (they played these roles in Clear and present danger). In other news about Clancy books being turned into movies; Paramount is apparently also working on making "Red Rabbit" and "Without Remorse" into movies Can't wait...
-
Unfortunately, I own Net Force on DVD... (relax, I bought it VERY cheap...) But this is just a straight-for-TV movie, and Netforce is not the best books either (Clancy is just co-creator of the Netforce series... same as Op Center, Powerplays, etc...).
-
That goes for all Clancy books made into movies... There are lengthy discussions about who should play who over at the R6 board at IMDB. But as I said before, I would really want to see Raymond Cruz play Ding again. He is Ding in my mind. Only worry is he's getting old for the part perhaps... (although I haven't seen any recent pics of him).

And that's what's wrong. The timeline established in the Ryan books are as follows: Already in Patriot Games, he's married and have his daughter. So yes, the filmmakers have always screwed up the timeline established by mr. Clancy. And with 3 different actors portraying him it is actually a chaos... In R6 the book, Ryan is still president of the US... so I wonder what they'll do about that? Possible solutions: 1. Write out the small parts with him completely (perhaps the best solution) 2. Get Affleck to play him again (grrr...) 3. Get Harrison Ford to play him again (he's getting old though...) 4. Get Alec Baldwin to reprise his role as Ryan (errr I don't think so!) 5. "Forget" that Ryan is president, and just throw in another fictional president The possibilities are endless...

Yes. In order for RSR to make the transition to the screen without being... well crap... they need to stick pretty much to the book. And it can never make a great movie. In order to squeese everything into a 2 or 3 hour movie, they would have to cut so much out, that it wouldn't be RSR in the end. Keep the cold war storyline, and make a miniseries with the budget and talent behind Band of Brothers - and you would have the greatest miniseries ever made! BTW... about the timeline. Yes SoaF screwed up the timeline established in Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger. (And I really hated Affleck as Ryan and Schreiber as Clark... ) But they never stayed true to the books when they cast Harrison Ford into the Ryan part. In Patriot Games (the book) Jack is supposed to be 31 or 32 years of age... and Ford comes across as somewhere in his fourties... But SoaF is a mediocre movie anyways. It strays so much away from the book and the Ryan timeline, that anyone who has read the book will never like the movie. (If I never had read any Clancy books, the movie could have been an ok actionflick, but as it is - well it stinks!)
-
I wonder if they'll ever dare to make movies out of "Debt of Honor" and "Executive Orders"... A airliner crashing into the Capitol - I really don't see an american filmstudio doing this anytime soon. But the books are great anyway.
-
Eh... Or do you mean a remake of The Hunt for Red October? IMO it's not a movie that needs to remade - it's a great movie as it is - The Hunt for Red October
-
Yes, I wonder how many times I have said the same. But I think RSR is too much for a 2 hour movie... so my suggestion all along has been to make a miniseries out of RSR. Something like Band of Brothers... 10 episodes, 1 hour each. Now that would do more justice to RSR than just a movie.

Perhaps a bit unrelated to the original topic here... but Zack Snyder who directed the remake of Dawn of the Dead is now going to direct "Rainbow Six"! I haven't checked up on the status of this film for a month or two, and suddenly while I was cruising around at IMDB I saw it. (Rainbow Six is the movie based on Tom Clancy's book, which the Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear/Raven Shield is based upon - John Woo were attached as director for a long time until now.) He may be a somewhat unknown director, but I liked his way of directing in the remake of DotD. And I really think he can do a better job of making Rainbow Six into a movie than Woo. Well, sorry for off topic, but I just thought I should mention it... and I didn't bother to make a whole new thread about it Both Land of the Dead and Rainbow Six are two eagerly awaited movies from me.

I already have a photo of it for you

So... he finally got his fourth episode onto film But... why has he changed the name... all indications from the past pointed to Romero naming the fourth one "Twilight of the dead"!?! I love "Night of the living dead", "Dawn of the dead" and "Day of the dead". And speaking of Dawn of the dead... the remake were not that bad... all things considered. How many of you have seen all the different versions of the original Dawn of the dead? And which one do you feel is the better?
-
The first three are so-so... but the fourth one is not just brilliant... it's genius! But if you sit and stare at it too long... you might go crazy
-
Maybe arrange it in Hamar... would have been nice Anyways, E3 is not open for the public. You have to be in the industry, be a reporter or have an invite. But it would have been great to have attended E3 Maybe next year, if I get my two biggest gamingsites set up and things go as planned...
-
I just received an answer from Codemasters... What they did not care to answer, were wether or not it was true that they wouldn't show any games at E3... Now, I don't exactly trust Codies support any further than I can throw them... but I didn't like the part about "Operation Flashpoint 2 is not released until late next year"...
-
Look in the E3 thread for an update that might give you some hope back

Ok, I checked the exhibitor list at www.e3expo.com again... And now I see that Bohemia Interactive a.s. is listed with their own booth! I've regained some hope now
