once more: i have beta tested this exact vehicle, it works perfectly apart from the affore mentioned pitch problem, this vehicle has 3 different rotating turrets (one main turret, two sponsons) as well as a hull mounted (fixed) bombard cannon, all turrets are able to rotate at the same time and fire at different targets. either way, when the tank pack is released (which should be soon) you'll be able to see it for yourself, won't you. -

it is. and then again it isn't. if you're asking can OFP straight out have a jeep with two machine gun points, both rotating, then the answer is no. if you're asking is it somehow possible to to get a second machine gun onto a jeep then the short answer is yes. The long answer on the other hand goes as follows. the jeep with the single machine gun point has to have the secondary machine gun turret added to it as an additional object (think of putting a turret down in a building), which then has to be scripted so that it attaches to the vehicle (because it moves, and you don't want the turret left behind), there's a problem with this however, as the pitch/ground-height of the weapon doesn't change in accordance with the vehicle, so going up and down hills can cause a strange effect where the gun moves around the vehicle vertically, or if the vehicle flips, the gun stays the right way up . So basically, yes, with difficulty and problems -
wouldn't the hovercraft then be likely to flip or seriously dip when reversing? There was a couple of ideas for VTOL craft using the chopper's config at OPSCIFI. to get rid of the dip the maximum speed limit was set to something like 2000 and then a speed limit was imposed upon the craft at 200. the theory being that the craft would tilt more the closer to its maximum speed value it got and by limiting its speed only minimal amounts of tilting could occur. i don't actually know if it worked, but it seemed a sound idea.

even if you do use the helicopter physics to simulate the hovercraft you're still going to have almighty problems, surely? the tilting motion, the constant need to hold down 'increase lift'(Q) when moving(otherwise it'll sink/crash, because of the tilting in the physics) come to mind. i'm really interested as to how IMUC are planning to simulate it.

I model most of the Human weapons for OPSCIFI's WH40k mod (which the Tau pack is part of), if you look over the pics of the various weapons and spot one you think would work well, just say so and i should be able to get the model to you at least, the specifics of a config and other niggling factors you'd have to sort out on your own for the most part i'm afraid. the problem with that is if he leaves the jungle he becomes visible, the best way to do it would be in a similar vein the OPSCIFI:WH40k mod's Stealth suit: Stealth texture it normally, and then create a second texture that is totally invisible or nigh-on invisible and then texture swap it from the menu when needed, using a script of course. Also if people are serious about starting up a predator mod, Operation Sci-fi would probably be able to host it at our forums, as we've had inklings of it before and its obviously of a suitably sci-fi nature. however, it would need to have proper input, not just one guy and his donkey, a serious team would need to be involved, but if that's sorted i wouldn't see any problems.

if previous textures are overwriting your own (which i think is what you're saying) if you go into face properties (select the model then press 'E') then if you select the textures that aren't yours and delete the file name in the bottom text box and apply, it'll get rid of those textures. failing that delete all the textures in face properties and then retexture it using your textures as you'll start off with a clean model. hope that helps

DK, calm down man, the download was in public, its our fault, and P_Megaman told us about it, do you really think if he was going to sell it on the 'addons black market' that he would have told us about it first? Megaman, i'd just disregard the 'threat' thing, DK's been a little bit jumpy lately since a certain someone returned to Opscifi, i wouldn't worry about it. oh and murhpy, yes the turrets change elevation on the chassis when going up and down hills, but as with everything else we're working on it, and we think its a small price to pay to have 4 guns firing at the same time at seperate targets

i don't know if its the same one but there was talk of a jurassic park mod at Operation Scifi in this thread. so far i think there's been a couple of the park buildings made. check it out.
