Aircraft addons have been popping out like crazy, and addon makers have come up with all kinds of new features to make planes more realistic: countermeasures, ECM jammers, HUDs, bitching bettys, and new stuff never stops coming. What do you think about plane addons in OFP?

I think the WVR missiles (9M and 9X) could be made a bit slower. Kinda the same way they are with Battle Over Hokkaido mod's Fighters. That way they'd have more time to track their targets. I just hate it when I line up for a great shot at a fast-mover's 7 o' clock position and my supposedly "all-aspect" fox-2 misses 3 out of 4 times. A/A-missiles have always been this way with most OFP aircraft against fast-movers. I also can't help feeling that the Vulcan is a bit underpowered. Sure it's pretty much spot on against BIS's SU-25, but that's a paper plane! Community-made aircraft usually take half of the ammunition. A 20mm Vulcan should be able to take out a BMP.

I use a joystick too, but a programmable one, so I have the throttle axis range from 0-90% programmed as analogue trottle axis and 90-100% programmed for forward fast depressed. Anyway, action menu afterburners are not my favorite to say the least.

Oh, and some new sounds might be in order. For example afterburner and bomb release sounds.

Oh that's right! JDAMs... I thought there was something missing. GBU-10s can do the job as well though...

This fighter addon is solid gold! I've been flying it over RSKL test island (too bad there are no map textures for it yet). This aircraft goes right to the top with Hardrock's Typhoon One developement idea would be to implement the kind of afterburner used in Spetsnaz's SU-27 where the afterburner is turned on by holding down the "forward fast" key.

Is it just me, or does it seem that the POV from the cockpit is a wee bit high? Just judging from the HUD.

I see you haven't tried it out because you'd definately notice the difference. The F-18C was entirely modeled and coded by the FDF team. It doesn't handle as good as Hudson&Pennywise:s though.

Operation Flashpoint has come a long way. Thanks to ingenuity of addonmakers and new patches supplied by Bohemia Interactive Studios things that were first seen impossible have been made possible. This is a thread where you can remind us of what engine limitations have been broken and what was the addon/mod that broke it. For example: Engine limitation: "Wheeled vehicles cannot be armed with missiles" Addon: Project MCAR

You really don't need a radar for firing IR missiles. However they do extend their detection range (but I don't think range is that important with rearward-firing missiles). Now back to the addon: -cannot turn your view past 90 degrees inside the cockpit - biiiig minus! -As someone pointed out, backward-firing R73:s don't lock onto targets. AI will still use them against you, but you get no missile warning (provided your aircraft is equipped with it). -Handling doesn't really feel as flanker-y as I think it should (as If I know how an SU-30 should handle! :P). I'm thinking more the likes of Spetsnaz's Su-27. -Canopy animation has no meaning (You can enter the aicraft without operating the canopy, and it can be opened without a problem in mid-flight, ergo it's useless eye-candy). Recommend automatic animation according to engine on/off status. -Model: WOW! Conclusion; needs some work, but pretty damn nice for a beta!

Only the non-addon versions of MFCTI will work properly with any replacement mod, be it FFUR, EECP or Y2K3. Otherwise the changes will only be cosmetic.

For a russian atmosphere it might be a good idea to include male bass chorus vocals (red army chorus style)

Simply fantastic! The horizon ball needs a bit of rescaling though... the pitch lines aren't aligned yet.
