Must be your s**tty comp. I have never seen a better image then what comes up on my monitor. For one reason old tv's max out at a resolution of 640x480(not new Digital TV's they max out at 1024x768), put that on your monitor and watch teh clarity and detail go to s**t.

yea if that was happening, over 85% of the community wouldnt be able to play You'd HAVE to have a GF3 and a 1.5GHz+ CPU. ATLEAST, I cant imagine teh stories that would be told, I mean half teh people have trouble running it now, I guess this is a wake up call for those that think their rig is sufficent for future games, with tehir GF2 MX's and P3 933;s muhahahahha.

AMD is not really good on servers, thats the only good thing I can say about Intel. I'd never put one of thoise in my PC, but If I built a server it would def. be a Dually Intel :biggrin: BigEd as far as their SMP being a "little" better, thats an understatement. AMD just doesnt ,market as well. But AMD's newest XP 1900+ smokes teh P4 2.0GHz In EVERY test. Now I'm not sure about when teh Northwood 2.2GHz is out(ETA Jan.7, 2002) but then aain teh TBred will prob. beat that

Acctually Pete, I would have to agree with Malboeuf on that one. The difference in ADSL and DSL is teh A, I think it's like Asynchrous(cant remember) Which means that there is a major difference in your up/down speeds. essentially meaning that you down is gonna be a #### of alot more than your up You probably ran a speed test and didnt clear your cache

Sprites do tend to kill framerates and performance, Like when I run 3DMArk20001 the Sprites test with the rotating horse tends to be one of teh harder tasks for the GPU " Not all subscribe to geforce, to get a slight perfomance boost and some cool features that are 6-12 months into the future " Slight? In Quake3 Arena, I can get well over 200FPS with everything MAXED OUT, whereas some s**tty TNT2 Vanta, geets like 20FPS full detail IF you're lucky. And I see it as a wise investment, If you think the performance hit you're seeing now is bad, wait til next year, you will have to upgrade to atleast a GF2xx Just to get low end performance, where my card will last atleast a few more yersa before needing to be upgraded.

What problems were you all having when trying to run FRAPS? When I run FRAPS, and then try to run OFP, it crashes EVERYTIME. When I get back to my other comp, I'll try some of those suggestions and get back to yah But I won't record any results til I get my new comp :biggrin:
