@unl33t: (don't know, whether this was mentioned before) The image in your sig is offending and very bad taste! You can say Bush is dumb and everything, but making him look like and compare him with Hitler is completely out of place. Maybe he said something that could be translated like this, but I'm sure we can find dozens of better translations and I as a german feel offended by this statement. (this was 'the' slogan of NAZIs back in WW2) Furthermore I doubt that he used the expression that is used to translate this to english (if there is a fix translation for this at all)

Well, some things: 1. I don't want a WW1 simulation with a full 36 hour artillery barrage on my position. 2. I have enough stress in my job. I play games for fun and leisure. 3. A bit more identification with your character and relation with your squad mates is okay, but I prefer my friends in real world. (I see sad kids in school telling their teacher that Koslowski died yesterday evening in a russian ambush) 4. Too much reality in games might cause sensitive natures to lose the sense for reality what could be dangerous for them as well as for their environment. Just some personnel thoughts about it. We should not try to create a new reality next too the one we already have to face each and every day. wkr WhoCares

Played some CTF yesterday. One mission I said in the beginning 'I put mines in our base'. So the mission started, I ran to our base and started to put some mines. I told my mates 'Use only the backdoor to leave our base!' Just finished to place the first round of mines and was on the way to get new ones I saw one of our tanks driving through base to the front gate. I said 'Mines!!!' but guess what, two secs later BOOM. 'Great...' So I took new mines and placed one right were the other one exploded and guess what - they found it... 'Did I mention the mines???' At the end of this mission I scored 3 or 4 Tks just because my mates tried to find all my mines...

Maybe it would be an idea to name all needed addons in the server config file. Add an extra section for generally needed addon and list mission related addons where the mission setup is done (class Missionxx). Now server or client can check whether all needed Addons are on client side. If general addons are missed client can't connect to server (with a message to the client which addons are missed). For mission related addons it would be good to have a little window where missed addons are marked red.

Adapting Kegetys idea, I would split up the user Addons in the server config in one part that should be generally activated (and thus neccessary) in every mission, and another part activated if a mission explicitely uses the addons. However, one problem with this is, that it multiplies the possibility to cheat, since it would be possible to modify any given addons config and not neccessarily the official one. So, every config of every addon on every client has to be checked against the Servers configs....

1. One-Key-solution would be better, but I never really had a problem with it. 2. This is not the MATRIX. You should find cover/concealment before reload. 3. That's what radios are made for and you should always engage the most dangerous enemy first - that's also the reason why the maschine gunner is your first dead team mate. 4. Ever tried to shoot from your hip while moving in real life? 5. Don't get this one. 6. Why shouldn't they know, when they can see you leaving the squad? 7. Ongoing improvements with each patch. 8. That's a matter of mission setup. I know, that (some or all?)official missions remove the corpses after 5 or 10mins. 9. I'm sure, some of them would disagree... But anyway, if you find a real problem and report it, they might investigate and implement an improvement if neccessary. Just check how fast 1.46 was out after problems with 1.45 were reported. 10. Finally you found something that's worth a look... 11. Just keep your team together or give them appropriate order and they shut up. Most of these items are gameplay related and thus no indication for poor programming. And one hint for the future: Get the demo - as you said, most of your items were there from the beginning... Edit: I was too slow...

You downloaded all the previous upgrades and patches? Well, all you should have done then was to get the downloadable version of the Gold Upgrade for half the price of the box... You paid now for the box, the printed guide, the CD with all the patches and upgrades included...

A dynamic campaign mode for sure. Strategical control -> command regiments, battalions, companies, platoons, squads according to rank. Plan your missions, full scale battle ongoing in realtime so you can assist other units in their task after you finished yours, a 5GHz maschine, ... Additional player movements. My idea would be something with the mouse wheel, eg. if you take cover behind sand bags you should be able to control how deep you duck behind them. Currently it happens often that you have to stand behind them to be able to engage enemies. Peek around corners would also be fine.

I think that TKs reduce your score. (also in the negative, but these values are not shown) I recently played a CTF where the russian (my) flag was at a fuel station. I place some mines around this area and a mate drove over one with a BMP (the whole base blew up, the fuel station, the choppers in base, all present players (~3 or 4) were killed including me ) Of course on global channel I was the TKer, since it was my mine... Long time during this mission I was not even on scoreboard (a thing they might have changed too, in previous versions you were always there, also if you were on 20th place) and after some regular kills I was in scoreboard, but still w/o any score...

What you ask for are flare traps. These are not available but can be simulated by scripts. I suppose you can find such scripts at the http://www.ofpeditingcenter.com. It would also help, when you post such questions in the Mission Editing section of this forum  *fix link*

Ever tried this and followed their instructions about ramdom crashes?

Can we also create a nice little sylvester firework with 50 flares in the ammo crate?
