Haven't recieved it yet, but made my mark on a pice of paper saying I wouldn't broadcast deatails of the software. Call me an old Fuddy-Duddy, but I would prefer people to know my word means something.

I remember the mig-28 in top gun, all right. It looked suspiciously close to the f-5 tiger, don't you think? <span id='postcolor'> Ah yes, the MiG-33, I thought you might have meant that one. It's another one of my favourites but it looks like the Russian government has started favouring the Su-27 family over that of the MiG-29. I'm starting to think it will never be more than a prototype. As for using the F-5 in Top Gun, I can understand that completely, the Cold War was still on...and to be fair the US used them as agressors simulating MiGs, but they at least should have made an attempt to make them look like MiGs, with Soviet-style camouflage and markings instead of all black...a bit too much like the "men with black hats" in Westerns . And what the hell was it with having a circle around the red star?? And given it an actual existing designation.<span id='postcolor'> I think it was supposed to be "An Unnamed Foreign Power," But honestly Topgun for facts on Combat Aviation? That's like watching "Scooby Doo" for advice on dog handling! -
Scanner is still down, no Gimpy yet. instead: This just leaves the L42...

Damn, Right about tiffie not having thrust vectoring; so much for listening to air show commentators. I know the Hawk doesn't have BVR capability; I never said it did, but despite that impressive somersault, you'll notice the Flanker never actually changed vector; unless its missiles can scan through a very wide arc in a fraction of a second, then lock on and fire, what actual use is that maneouver? -

I believe the F22 only has 2 dimensional thrust vectoring, as opposed to the SU and Typhoon's 3. However; Nobody really knows. We are all just stating opinions on each aircraft's merits, no matter how sarcastically we type. The maneouverability of the aircraft Vs. each other is all but irrellevant; the question you've got to ask is how well they can outmaneouver BVR missiles. If it did turn into a knife fight, I think I'd still put my money on the Hawk at least surviving unscathed, while the larger more powerful aircraft expend all their ammo trying to hit it. After which they would have to bug out most ricky-tick; a 30mm ADEN pack will solve most airbourne problems. -
The wigs don't appear to have a foil section, which should up it a bit. Also you could bung in control surfaces; Rudder, Flaps, Ailerons, Elevators and Speedbrakes. though you won't be able to animate it yet, bung in the undercarriage in the down position. All in all, that's a hell of a lot better than my first effort!

Very impressive.

Mr. A, this site here, has some very detailed info on the C130, including photos of the cargo bay taken from fore and aft in para config; that is totally covered in seats. I sourced it for my own attempt, but you are closer. Hope you can use it. Good hunting  P.S. Couldn't retrace my steps all the way, but this is definitely the place to look. The images are offsets, but they were enough to give me a few ideas. P.P.S. found this in amongst my own grabs:

Being fundamentally a lazy git, I'm skinning my weapons by clipping photos. Has anybody out there got some good quality images of a Sterling SMG that they can put up so I can grab, both side views, and magazine? The higher the quality, the better. Thanks in advance.

:salute: Thanks mate, but not high res enough. I haven't found anything on the web that will do the job; either too small or wrong angle. The illustration in Salamanders book about smallarms is a ripper, but I don't have it, though the reference library does, but they don't have a scanner.

Thanks Mr. S, so at least I don't have to buy a Milkshake bundle. Still, gots a few weeks to go before Oxy arrives, by all accounts. Can't help wondering though; other people have already got Oxygen. Why aren't more models available?
-
I don't know. Though I'm told its possible to send GMAX to Milkshake and from Milkshake to Oxygen. Downsde: I downloaded my copy of GMAX, so no export feature. I also downloaded a copy of Milkshake, which is on a timer. I may have to spend money to buy the apps that they come packaged with. Crazy, what?

You're missing the point, Mr. P. The 'winders WERE put on Nimrods so they could HUNT Argie recon aircraft. Putting them on Hercs could have made a knid of sense, eg: Scenario:Argie recon flying out into the South Atlantic comes across RAF Hercules bound for the Falklands. pulls up alongside to swap rude gestures while it radios Ground Forces to warm up SAMS for incoming. Alternate scenario: Argie recon flying out into the South Atlantic comes across RAF Hercules bound for the Falklands. Runs into Aviation's second best way to say "Sod Off" before it can get out a message. But they were'nt used like that, AFAIK.

Bump. C'mon guys. You're not actually going to make me WORK are you? They're starting to stack:
-
Only through Oxygen, I'm afraid.

I've got a BEEE-Utiful image of both sides of the gun, but my bloody scanner's down. I think it's only the lead, otherwise it could get expensive. Think I should be able to get it skinned by tomorrow one way or other, but also looking for good images of the Stirling and Enfield L42 Sniper's Rifle.
-
Next! With an L42A1 and L96A1 to go.
-
If you're using GMAX you'll find the poly counter in the utilities section (Hammer icon, far right). The allegation is about 2500, though i don't think there is an upper limit. But obviously, the fewer the better.

Just Falcon4 SP2 for my High tech, CFS2 for my WW2 fix. Used to play EF2000, and I played EAW a lot, but despite being IMHO a better sim than CFS2, the graphics are definitely dated. What can I say? I'm shallow -

So has an F16. And speaking as a Falcon4 with a particular affection for Wild Weasel, believe me, it's not the best feature.
