    Bends on texturies

At a guess, get your basic camo pattern into a decent paint program of your choice. Create a new layer, call it highlights, set the opacity to about 50% and spray white about a bit where you want the wrinkles. Create a new layer, call it shadow, set the opacity to about 10%, and spry beside the white bits of the previous layer. save a copy as a .gif. Experiment with the settings, but that will get some kind of result.
  2. If you use the -nomap command, you shouldn't need to remove any addons. I think that will solve your problem.
  3. Nothing wrong with OFP, so I didn't think it should go into troubleshooting. Anyways, recently indoctrinated a buddy into OFP, and went to his place to make sure he got all the good stuff loaded up. The problem is that his OS is Windows XP. I use Windows 2000 and this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">H:\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE -nosplash -nomap -mod=hisky;GMR_exploMOD;DynamicRange won't work on his desktop shortcut; it won't accept the command line at all. In his shortcut, the target info is contained in quotes (in Win2000 this isn't the case). I've tried the command line inside and outside; Nothing works. Is there an XP user out there that can give me the solution? Thanks in advance.

    Problem with windows xp

Problem solved Gentlemen. When we created the shortcut, we just cut and pasted the command line into place. For some reason it didn't like it. Tried typing it in by hand, and now it works fine. Don't you just love Windows? Thank you all for your input.

Ofp combat photography. No pics over 100kb.

The Mig 23 has radars and weapons for air to air combat, the Mig 27 is optimised for mud-moving, and has appropriate electronics for that. Outside, apart from the nose they appear to be almost identical. Inside, they are very different beasts.

Well, you could, but then we'd have to kill everyone that read this thread, including me. Best keep quiet.

    Problem with windows xp

I'm using XP Pro Are you sure the 'start in' folder is correct? Interesting. The start in folder appears to be pointing somewhere else, if I remember right, but OFP cranks up ok anyway (Though without the mods). Something to check on.

Can you explain more what you mean by "Bends on textures?" Can you post a screenshot of an example?

    Problem with windows xp

Thanks, Supah. We quickly tried doing it by cutting/pasting your command line into the target box and making appropriate adjusments, but still no joy. Benu, I believe that it's the home version (Can't confirm that just yet). Dynamic isn't working properly, but it's one of those things I never got around to fixing. The information is definitely going into the correct box. I intend to post a screenshot of the problem when the victim returns from work, but in a nutshell, it appears to be reporting a syntax error.

That is a Flogger; single engine, variable geometry wing. A Mig 25 is two f*cking enormous engines with an airframe bolted on.

    Backpack

just carry the satcom in the pack, if you want to be crude, and dig it out when you want to call down hellfire and damnation. ;) I don't know if anyone noticed, but there's already a medical backpack floating around in the 1993 Ranger pack by Laser. What it does is give any unit the ability to heal, though it doesn't appear to work for AI.

    Bas tonal-tango pack

Just finished reading the "Profile" for the island; Nice. It goes a long way to providing depth, but left me with a question; Tonal is represented, as well as Tonali 1. Will you be publishing Tonali 2 and 3? Not asking when, just if it's on the cards?

    Redressing the balance

Nice work, I love the smoke. Will other loadouts be available? HARM puts the aircraft after Vietnam. Back then, they would have used Shrike, or maybe (again, this may be a bit late) the Standard ARM.

    Backpack

Working night shift last night I was thinking about this. I wonder if some penalty could be built in to it? at the moment it's possible to sprint with the backpack on, which isn't very realistic. Some bergans can weigh over 100lbs (say 45-50kg); with a load like that I think the best you could do would be a trot, and not for very long. Eventually, a custom animation would be needed, but that's beyond my abilities. Then again, perhaps carrying the kit itself should fatigue you faster, or in the context of OFP cause cumulative damage, which could be staved off by (wait for it) food and water? the amount of food/water needed would vary with the distance you would carry the pack; for longer missions on foot less equipment could be carried because more rations would be needed. Now I'm going to wander off topic a bit (bear with me ) and head over to Tonal. Carrying the packs through western Tonal on LRRP syle missions. What's missing? Snakes. Snakes don't move around very much, so you could treat the little suckers like mines (basically). Static, because that's how they spend a lot of their lives, with a little striking animation for when they are disturbed. If you wanted to be really flash, perhaps a swimming snake animation. Coupled with a script which would only spawn them when "needed," Western Tonal would become an even more delightful place to visit. I bring them up because I was thinking of medics, and what they would bung in their packs, like antivenoms of differing types. I'm working on more varied backpacks (models), but my scripting sucks. I'd be prepared to work on snakes as I've described if an animator would help. He would need to tell me what he needed in the way of body segments and how he wanted them defined, I'd be happy to take up the job. That's what you get from 3.00 in the morning.

I suggest you try downloading again, there's supposed to be a lot more than just a .p3d in there!

  21. I'm trying to put 3 claymores into anderrson's new backpack. the code I tried is this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">this addweaponcargo ["COCMinesPut",1];this addweaponcargo["COCM18A1,3"];this addmagazinecargo["COCM18A1,3"] Ingame, I'm able to retrieve the M57 from the pack, but no mines. Anybody know why?

Andersson, you've done a wonderful job with a very simple model. you left the source files open; how far would you allow the original to be modifed (with all credit, of course)? Oops, didn't mean to quote!
