Not sure if this is even possible, but for atmospheres sake, Id love to have background radio traffic noise both when in vehicles like tanks, choppers etc.. as well as intermittent radio contact when on foot (fire missions, medevacs etc). Is this possible?
-
- Choppers in formation, fall behind, then catch up with the lead chopper.. then fall behind again.. rather than maintaining constant speed with lead bird.

* BUMP * Op Flashy is crying out for a ded linux server. Lots of ISPs just arent willing to host Winblows servers..

Can anyone tell me if Satchel will be releasing his Dynamic range sound addon for Resistance?

Although there seems to be a much better overall feel to the game with the new netcode, I have found that warping seems to be just as prevalent.. if not more. Just wondered how other people had found it..

Server P3 Ded. Telstra cable 512/128 ver 1.58 Client P3 1gig ADSL Map 2-8 Paintball (official deathmatch)- Unable to climb stairs inside houses... as if they werent there.. Map 2-5 Coop (offiicial Hostage rescue) Major warping of enemy units. most frustrating. cheers,

The major one was in the 2-5 Coop (hostage rescue). where once u "touch" the hostages, their numbers briefly added to the troops under your command.. then dissapear, and can not be ordered to do anything, nor if you or another player has been killed, can you "assume an AI" which previously worked correctly. I tried this later with a mp game with just me playing, and the mission worked fine. any ideas? The problem was players getting stuck in vehicles, and unable to get out, despite selecting the command in the menu to "get out". And one stage the pre-game screens froze for one player and had to reconnect for it to work correctly. Other than that, it seemed terrific. The server was a cable server (not b/w limited), two of the clients were on adsl (both behind the same gateway) and one 56K modem connection (the one that hung at one point). Also, the call support > medic doesnt appear to work.. but im not sure if that ever did. (i seem to remember if your legs were busted.. he would come over to you. same with repair vehicles for tanks etc) cheers onslaught

Just wondered.. because I feel that radio traffic/chatter would greatly add to the atmosphere of the game when in vehicles (even the jeeps got a radio). I suppose it would be some kind of audio file that would loop after a certain amount of time, but even so I reckon it would be great.. If BIS could introduce hand signals in the game (eg. Halt - raised hand etc) it would look mighty cool! cheers [WTF]onslaught

If so, Im suprised that there arent missions with thick fog early in the morning that progressively dissapears as the sun rises.. anyway.. Surely someone who plays the game at 1600x1200 has an advantage over someone playing at 640x480.. how is this different? ** OOPS.. soz Fubar.. didnt see you raise the same point.. btw, good to see some other Victorians on the forum.

I was wondering if it would be possible to increase the default maximum viewing distance as a performance option? I realise some missions are meant to be played in murky conditions (fog etc). However an option to set an increase for the default viewing distance for maps, unless specifically set for a particular map would be great imo. cheers [WTF]onslaught

Can I assume that as the game is due for release in about another month or so.. that BIS have left it too late for us to "evaluate" the new netcode? Im not sure how long it takes to distribute a game across the world, but I would imagine that time would fast be running out for the public to test the new code out, before the game is released. thoughts?
