Yeah, I have to agree with the above- both the B-1B, and to a lesser extent the B-2 and B-52, have been MAJOR contributors in the Iraq and Afghan campaigns. The B-1 in particular, is still one of the primary "go-to guys", when large amounts of ordinance, or particularly large precision-guided weapons have to be used in a hurry. The plane's supersonic dash capability, combined with enormous capacity, makes the Lancer a huge force-multiplier even at this late date in the conflict. The B-1 is still being used almost as much against insurgent targets, as it was employed against major military targets during the opening days of the air-campaign. You'd only need to give the model a single, multi-purpose bomb load, because the three internal bays can hold such a large number of weapons on each rotary launcher. It would really be awesome of they could still mount the full amount of weapons using the external hard-points as well, but I suppose it's better than unraveling all the treaties with Russia, at this point.

Personally, I'm glad I didn't miss the M14 training- it was, and still is, a great weapon. -

Back in the day, ( 1990 ) when I did boot at San Diego RTC, ( closed now ) we were still being trained on the M1911A1 pistol, and the M14 rifle- are they training you guys on anything more up to date these days? We even had WWII-era steel pot helmets in the ship's gear locker! I think the most advanced piece of kit I was ever issued by the Navy was a hand held Motorola radio, and the MCU-2P gas mask. 'course then again, as personnel on a carrier, we weren't ever supposed to get shot at. ( And the company of MARDET on board were always loaded for bear- and were probably capable of wiping out a brigade of anyone else's troops. In addition we often had SEALs aboard as well. ) Come to think of it, ( and I won't/can't elaborate further, so don't ask ) the only reason for us to be armed, had more to do with the possibility of shooting our own people, as opposed to shooting "enemy" personnel. -
On that note, has anyone thought about doing a Falklands mod? Seems like ArmA would be just about perfect for simulating the "ground war" phase of the operation. I suppose I'm specifically asking if anyone had plans of reproducing a close to scale model of the Malvinas? It seems like it would be sized and featureless enough to be perfect for ArmA.

I'd suggest the OV-10A, and possibly some "D" models would be a cool FAC and gunship for the RACs. http://www.fas.org/irp/program/collect/ov-10.htm

Ironically, all AF medics deploy from hospitals as well... She's typically staff at the cardiac care unit at Wilford Hall, Lackland AFB. She's usually up to her elbows in somebody's chest over here, or over there. Anyway, it equally sucks for us all, of course. But that's a whole 'nother Oprah. -

Hey, uh, I'm not trying to piss anyone off, or get into a debate over a stupid cover, so cool your jets, dude. I'm just trying to contribute something meaningful to the discussion- regardless of the implied context, or lack thereof. Sorry if that bothers you. -

I'd appreciate the Troy Industries INC M14 MCS, in standard ( Perhaps with M203, and/or Beta C-MAG ), CQB ( possibly with suppressor, and fore-grip ), and DMR variants ( with bipod, precision stock, and various sights. ) http://www.ar15.com/lite/topic.html?b=7&f=134&t=439289 Yeah, I know the Troy M14 SOPMOD has already been done for ArmA, and they are indeed excellent models- so I'm kinda hoping that this newest version of the weapon can be done as well.

Sorry here but i think u overate the M1A1/2 check this here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Abrams and u can see that only by a single hit by RPG there can be problem and after all if the tank cant be playable in terms of gameplays u can consider it destoryed Note there is a difference between "disable" and "destroy". A T72 cannot even penetrate the armor of an Abrams at distances above 1 kilometer. We are focusing mainly on realism, not balanced gameplay. edit: Just thought i might point out that a few years back an abrams was disabled when its engine was hit with an RPG. It was decided that it wouldnt be worth getting it out of there so they dumped caliber 50 rounds all around the interior, dumped gasoline all over it, and opened the ammunition chambers. After which, several thermite grenades were detonated inside, another abrams fired a round into it, and a AGM-65 and 2 AGM-114s were fired into it to be sure all of the systems were destroyed. And besides, just because it takes so many rounds to destroy it doesnt mean you cant disable vital parts of it with a well placed round or 2 If I remember correctly, that particular tank was eventually repaired, and returned to service.

I don't think what was being suggested, was about adding anything, but rather, making the technicals and other cars more realistic. These cars need to look like CRAP, with lots of primer, missing fenders, corrugated metal sheets welded on, bullet holes, Arabic writing spray painted on, off-road tires on a station wagon with the roof removed, etc. etc. You need some inspiration? Watch Road Warrior, and google "hooptie" and "rust bucket". BTW, the Ural, the tractor, and other Eastern trucks might look great as a technical, maybe even the bus could be modded into a battle wagon.

Jahve's character addons - Shaw v1.1

No! Everyone knows that Shaw only works alone! -
Well, I hate to break this to you, but that sort of operation isn't exactly a new concept- many western nations are currently developing similar UAV projects. The US is currently in the forefront of the technology, and near to production of a helicopter-type of UAV known as the Fire Scout, and it's actually capable of being armed and carrying out fully autonomous combat operations. There are also fixed-wing UAV's that are also capable of fully autonomous operations, such as the Global Hawk.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't this similar to the vehicle that the USMC and Army Rangers has purchased to replace the FAV? I know I've recently seen video of US forces tooling around in a digital camo-pattern Mercedes jeep that looks a lot like this little bugger. If so, it would be nice to have a US version. * Found it... United States: The USMC Interim Fast Attack Vehicle (IFAV) is a modified version of the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen 290. It replaces the modified M-151A2 1/4 ton truck (MUTT jeep) used by the Marines as a FAV in the 1990s. The U.S. Marine Corps acquired 157 of the IFAVs distributed as follows: (I) Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Camp Pendleton, CA (33; (II) MEF Camp Lejeune, NC (25); (III) MEF on Okinawa, Japan (27; (IV) 17 Force Recon, Afghanistan (22); (V) 3 Force Recon Bn, Iraq (23); (VI) 1st Provisional DMZ Police Company, Korea (15); and (VII) various miscellaneous (12) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_G-Class And here's a large pic of one in woodland camo, mounted with a Mk19 AGL: http://images.google.com/imgres?....rl=http

Jahve's character addons - Shaw v1.1
VIPER SHIVA replied to Jahve's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Well, thank you for dignifying my post with your awesome-ness, ma'am. But, it pains me to inform you this config IS currently being used down-range, whilst the SR-47 was never really mass produced, AFAIK. When spec. operators need a heavier round than 5.56, and they're knee-deep in 7.62x39- they're supposed to use the SCAR-H. Which is unfortunate, because I love the SR-47. -

This is probably more appropriate in the Addon Request thread, but if you were going to make the guy really high speed, I'd like to see him armed with something like this: http://www.defensereview.com/stories/bhi/ Now, that's teh uber-hawt, super-leet AK, yo! -

It's near enough for game purposes. Are you going to do the new varient armed with the 25mm Bushmasters replacing the 40mm Bofors, and Viper Strike PGM's? Anyway, It looks amazing, and I cant wait till it's finished. Bravo Zulu! -
I'm a Pirate/Ninja with Star Fleet, and we use them too. Chuck Norris is slightly amused, and therefore will tolerate this addon.

Would it be possible to simulate a jam or malfunction if the weapon itself was hit by incoming fire or shrapnel? I have hit many SLA rifles with rounds from my weapon, and it always annoyed me that it never seemed to cause the slightest damage to the rifle or the shooter. Seeing as how I'm typically using a weapon firing 7.62 NATO, that's most likely going to cause some damage to the weapon, if not injure/maim/kill the guy holding the weapon.

Yossarian, thank you, thank you, thank you! The EBR is one of my favorite rifles of all time, and a most welcome addition to the gradually increasing ArmA arsenal. Bravo Zulu! You Da Man!

"Those that shall not be named" uses any and every weapon that they have access to- which is EVERTHING. This likely includes the entire inventory of BLUFOR, as well as that of the OPFOR, and very probably makes and models we've never heard of. Talley Defense Systems is likely a very popular manufacturer for all of the secret squirrel's anti-armor needs, and I know that a very new, ultra-light, shoulder-fired ATGM/MANPAD system has been designed specifically for the needs of the Dept. of the Navy's SPECWAR units. Take a look at this: http://www.defensereview.com/modules....sid=887

BilOlson, I just wanted to say thanks for the addon, your kind of work is always appreciated. That said, I think that the M107 is far too heavy and cumbersome for a guy to carry around while sneaking and peeking. My suggestion would be to arm your ( US SPECOP ) sniper/DM/sharp shooter with either the SPR, or one of the new M14 mod's. Speed and endurance are these kind of unit's biggest consideration while their out in "Indian country". Like the Javelin, the M107 has been used to great effect by American SPECOP units- but they wouldn't typically carry one around while out on patrol. If it was called for, the sniper would already have one set up in a prepared position, and when it was time to move or extract, the shooter would grab the weapon and load it onto a vehicle. If you wanted to be realistic about it, the weapon would be loaded from, or back to, a hummer, Stryker, or helo- if the mission required it. Anyway, thanks for the addon!
