How to make a Bush that dont let the enemy see trought ? I know that I need to use a proper Lod. But I dont suceed in finding the good solution. Help !

@NoRailgunner Do you make any test ? The only thing I know is that PMC 204 km x 204 km work with massive city... (even if the biggest part of the island is desert...)

I think that you dont understand well the concept. I will not make aircraft. RKLS mod is working on that and this work seems to be very good ! Even if it will never reach the simulation level of Lock On. No, my concept is just a map concept. Big, and complex. Imagine flying in a UH60 with a assault team during 30 minuts, with a lot of air menace and land to air menace... Then you arrive in a Hight detailled zone (with arma elements...) and you fight then extract. I'm testing this concept creating the low poly models. Screens will come soon.

Yep... We alway need to wait visitor 3 and do a lot of testing... But for the begining of my project I have 322 textures from lock on in now in Jpeg format and ready to be convered to .paa All those textures will not be very usefull... But you can imagine that it's an hell of work to make aproximatly 200 new buildings ! Even if they only have 4 face ! So I need people ! Before the launching of Visitor 3.

It's also quite impossible to make new island. With the old Wrptool it's impossible to use Arma Model. We definitly need the tools to mod something.

Any news about the visitor 3 features ? Is it possible to import geodatas ? If it's possible, what kind of format are supported ? I know that it will be release when it will be done ! But the comunity must know now how to prepare the datas for creating reality based map. For exemple is it possible to use Arc GIS, Arc Map... ect to prepare the datas ? ?

I dont think that a project like that will take some years to be completed. All depend on the new abilities of visitor 3. Just see how the task can be automated in the virtual tool kit for VBS2: Virtual tool kit Press release I just hope that we will see all those interesting functionalities in the free tools.

A little something for you, my beloved community ! For the moment i can't release that because First : it's unfinished and some textures are really ugly... And because the good textures are from the TWM_Const pack (from the old afgan everon !. So I need the author permission... Or, if somebody have a great heart, it would be helpfull if i found a texturer in order to help me. Or... If somebody know how to find free afgan textures... It would be helpfull also ! (It would also be great to be part of a mod team... )

Yes im really interesting by your normal map tutorial. Very beautifull model ! I will try to create a afgan destroyed building like that. Soon, but let me some time to create it !

I'm not offense at all by your critics because it's really constructive. But at the begining I just would like to make a building pack in order to let others customers place them on the afgan island. So I would to release a pack very quickly and to offer a lot of simple objects. I was also trying to find teamate to help me in this hard work (especially for a beginner). But now I dont know if I'm going to make a quick release. Maybe the community want something better, with more complexity. So I think i'm going to rework all that to make a quality pack. Why making addons if there are not ambitious ?? Chris Death are you involving in some building pack project ? I think im the first to make new building for Arma. But I can be wrong. So if a talented and "old" addon maker post on the forum pictures about very complex and beautifull building, it would be very great. In order to show us the right direction. Back to work guys ! We need to be ambitious. We need to be talented ! We need to create something really uncredible !

Yes ! I also use Sketchup. It's very easy to import a sketchup model into Oxygen, then into Arma. The only things you need is the demo of Sketchup Pro (to export your model in 3DS) and the free program Animator. In animator create a new model. Then go in object, import. Then select in Option the 3D dummy data... Then export in 3DS. Then open your 3DS with Oxygen. Then you need to make some work with Oxygen (texture, create different Lods...).

Why waiting the tool ? With Wrptool we are able to place object in the map. As you can see here I succeed in importing my one (unrealesed) afgan objects. All work (lod, geo lod, roadway... and it work much more better than in OFP ! ). How does it work ? Its very simple. -Create your one object with Oxygen. Dont make any Config -Depbo the DBO afgan island. Then open the wrp with Wrptool. -Binarize your .pbo and use that binarized pbo in Wrptool (you are able to place with precision your object because its binarised ! ). -Save the .wrp and make again the DBO afgan island pbo. -Then place your normal pbo (not binarized ! ) into your Arma Beta addon folder. It's 100% functionnal ! Now what i am looking for is a way to binarize the Arma official objects... It seem that they are crypted or something like that. Im also looking for old ofp addons that could be used freely to make them Ok for the new afgan island... And i also create new afgan objects... If somebody want to help me... It would be very fine ! -

Yes of course ! But we dont have any tools ! And it will take a long time to learn how to use it and to do Arma quality models... Time is crucial.

Does anyone here have buy Armed Assault with Brontoland.cz ? How long to you wait to receave your copy ? I'm in France and I stil waiting (i have commanded it the 14th of November...).

I think BIS have a STUPID policy... Its very bad. And the thing wich is badder again is that Arma is not especially brillant... So the fan from germany are going to buy it. The fan from others country cant wait anymore so they are going to download it. And the rest of the world will not buy it at all... BIS have NEVER take in consideration our request (for a demo especially). BIS dont reach there objective to share the tools with documentation before the release of Arma. The wiki is TOTALY not usefull. It's bad time for BIS, and I just hope that they save enought money to make Game 2...

Ok, arma is out, now we are all waiting our TOOLS ! We dont have any idea of the release date of majors tools. But I create that topic in order to let island makers exchange there idea. Visitor 3 is going to be a REVOLUTION. For the moment we know that : The new Visitor 3 can convert satellite data to maps, including their height-maps and surface textures. Again, a Visitor light, token away some of the features, is meant to be released to the community. Due to the new streaming technology the size of the maps isn’t limited in any way. Rastavovich showed us a map with a size of 82x82km, mapped with satellite pictures and meant for the military. BIS experimented with cell sizes up to only 5m, but this will probably represent a problem with large maps. The new version of visitor also supports .png import. The above-mentioned functions can automate different processes in Visitor. We were shown different examples: Objects were randomly placed, power poles were automatically created along roads. The most impressive thing we were shown was an automatic process to fit streets in the landscape. To make them look more natural, the world around them gets flattened or cut, streets going up a hill in serpentines actually look like real streets afterwards. Right now, it is rather unlikely that rivers will find their way into Armed Assault. That is an extract from the last Mapfact. We must prepare ourselves for that revolution. And that topic should be used as a think tank. How to design realistics environment ? How to find sattelite data ? How to create islands that fit perfectly with real location ? Questions are so numerous...
