    New beta patch 1.16

One thing I praise in BIS. On the eve of launching ARMA II you're still making patches to improve the playability of ARMA. Some will say that's because it was full of bugs since the release. Ok. But most (if not all) games are buggy nowadays. Only a few software house's got this care with the players. Thanks a lot BIS.

    new guy

You've made your point -Total-. :( Call me old, but I don't see the need of gore. I played the last COD and I tought there was too much unreasonable/senseless violence. That was not even to try mimicking the real world or a real combat warfare. That was pure stupidity. I really don't need that in a game.

ArmA II release date discussion thread

That could be a good decision in terms of number of sales, considering that a lot of people will only buy the first who cames out. I've already saw it stated by users on the Dragon Rising's forum. What I saw from the previews and videos, let me to think that ARMA II is almost final. Considering this I'd say that they will keep the release date of 26th June. But if Dragon Rising's will be delayed until Q4, maybe BIS will use the extra time to improve the game. I'll stay with the first. But be prepared, as usual, to have some bugs and improvements needed. But as always BIS will fix most. I bet there will be an expansion later with a lot of improvements. That's OK with me.
  4. No it isn't just you. But the whole atmosphere is so amazing... the detail of the village... I really can see a lot of improvements. I'm expecting there will be some bugs, like when Operation Flashpoint and ARMA were released. But they will be solved in due time by BIS (with the help of this fantastic comunity). I'll pre order it right now.

    1.08 Texture Bug

Greetings, I too did have some problems with loading textures and with the text, but no CTD's. I solved by changing the textures option to default. Later I tried with Normal and it also worked with me. Only when I set to Low or Very Low I get those problems.

    1.08 Troubleshooting thread.

I got a Asus EN8600GTS 256MB and I can choose the default option. Probably it depends more on the series chipset then the amount of memory.

    **crackling sb live etc solved**

I think there is no solution to this problem, unless creative develops new drivers for our sound cards. It's not an hardware issue, IRQ's conflicts, Operation Flashpoint issue, or whatever. I work in a computer store and tried to solve this out, a couple of months ago. I used the same hardware except the sound cards (I used different Creative Live soundcards). With some cards the crackling sound was unbearable, while others like mine (CT4760) the sound is crackling but bearable. This with the same drivers version (the last one). Only with the Audigy, it seemed that everything was ok. And this doesn't happen only with OFP, a lot of games, also suffer with the same crackling noise. So, or creative launchs a new set of drivers for Windows XP, or I'm afraid, we'll have to buy a new soundcard. Â

    Desync problem

Hi, Can anyone explain me what causes desync?, Is it only a communication problem? I've got a:         PIV 2.0Ghz         512MB RIMM         Geforce 1         Windows XP         ADSL (512K download,128 upload) It's not bad for a PC, but the fact is, that me and my friends with similar machines and similar connections (cable and ADSL), are getting problems with desync. The pings seems to be allright between 30 and 200 (depending on the server). But we notice that our values of desync are bigger than other players playing in the same server. Is it a problem with our ISP's? Is there any way to fix the desync? Will the next client patch help solving this problem? Please can anyone help? Thanks

    Desync problem

Hi, Now I'm pretty sure what is the problem... It's bad and lack of reliable communications that causes all the troubles. Not GameVoice. For example, when we play at afternoon (when most people are at work or in school) the Desync is almost inexistent. But at night, well... So the problem is with our ISP's (here in Portugal). They just don't have enought bandwith or whatever, to support all the customers. And still they want more people to join the service  Anyway thanks all for trying to help me with this problem. This is a great  community, and OFP it's the GAME !Â

    Desync problem

Thanks Frag, We have already tryed to host, and the problem with the desync its the same. Â That seems to be a good ideia to monitor our connections with and without Gamevoice. If the problem is in the Gamevoice I'll report it here, maybe then, someone thinks twice before buying it. I think that one of the problems might be the stability of our connection. Our ISP's here in Portugal, are making a campaign, in order to get new subscriptors for the service, offering free traffic until the end of the year. So maybe the connections aren't really stable as they should be, cause a lot of people are getting advantage of free traffic, and they spent 24 hours a day with their PC's connected to the internet to download all kind of things (you may imagine) from the Kazaa's and newsgroups. That might be one reason. Â Could you or anyone tell me what values should be considered "normal" (or suficient) for the Bandwith and for the desync?

    Desync problem

I don't think so. I said that my friends have similar computers... not equal, one at least gots a gforce4 4600, and another a gforce4 4400, and the desync it's still the same. Besides I run the game with 1024x768 32 bit, but with low detail. But I forgot to mention one thing... We are using Microsoft Game Voice (which uses Microsoft Messenger) for voice communication. Can this be a cause for desync? Thanks for answering ACES

    Help my resistance crash

You were right. I uninstalled the full game and installed all again; no more problems when I select the Campaign Menu and everything now is working well (as far as I can tell). Now I've just to install all   the other addons one by one and see what happens. Thanks!

    Help my resistance crash

Same problem. When I choose the campaign menu jumps out to Windows Desktop with this error message: "cannot memory-map file 'campaign\resistance.pbo'" But if I load first, a single player mission (I've tried one from Resistance) and exit and then go to the campaign menu, I've got no trouble and begin to play the campaign normally. I've got a: Intel PIII 866 Board Asus CuSL2c (Intel 815) 512MB Live 1024 HD 40GB Geforce 1 (Asus 6800) Win98 SE
