Patch 1.02 makes image blurry
von_paulus replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Until next game start. -
I don't know if they are connected. VRAM is video ram (video memory). Do you have 512 MB in Graphic card? ---------- Post added at 11:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:27 AM ---------- Look at his thread. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73668

I know the feeling. I experienced the same thing Friday last. I tracked UPS. I went to work sooner because I gave my work's address. That was really an insane moment in my life.

Patch 1.02 makes image blurry
von_paulus replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I tested tonight. I benchmarked with fraps and compared with the results of last night and come to conclusion if there was any dropout in performance was marginal. So I guess its ok to use the 32 value in HDRPrecision. -
I saw this at armedassault.info Source: http://www.mcvuk.com/press-releases/48566/ArmA-II

Try to find ArmA2.rpt file. It's a kind of a debug file created by Arma when there is a problem with the game.
-
I'm not stating that is something wrong with your drive, but sometimes the problems begin in a gradual way. It's also a known issue that Securom doesn't work well with all dvd drives.

I didn't find any more specific information about it. http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1323052&postcount=154 -
You can try different settings in video memory. Try "default" instead of "normal" or vice-versa. I suppose you've 512MB VRAM. You don't have a system, in my opinion, to choose high options in video settings.

What is your system? Look at this thread. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73375

The all new: Ask a moderator about the forum & rules
von_paulus replied to Placebo's topic in OFFTOPIC
In the troubleshooting sections there are a lot of threads that are related and maybe should be merged. That could help sort the forum and the problems I think. How can we warn a moderator about a thread that should be merged with other one? -

How old is your PIONEER drive? It's the only drive in your system?

The latency test you can run. As for the memory you've to tweak your motherboard cmos settings in order to run at proper speed. Updating the BIOS might help to recognize more different type of memories. You can also try also the support tech (forums) of Corsair and of the motherboard maker. There are users (look at the thread http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=47904 ) at this forum that have a lot of hardware knowledge that may help you. You can have a bigger memory latency in each cpu cycle if your memory is not well optimized. I'm not saying that this will solve your problem, but it's those little things that sometimes make the difference between night and day.

Could you look at this thread? http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=74401 I'm not suggesting that you might have a problem in your system, but I noticed for example that your memory is not running at 800 as it should be. One thing I noted since Operation Flashpoint is that if you don't have a tuned system you can run into trouble. We know that this game is very CPU dependent.

Patch 1.02 makes image blurry
von_paulus replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I see your point and I've already thought about that. Yesterday had the opportunity to play for 1 hour and benchmark the 2 SP missions that I played with FRAPS. I'll try it tonight with HDRPrecison set to 8 (as it was before changing to 32) and reseting at beginning the PP and see if there's an increase in performance. ---------- Post added at 12:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:41 PM ---------- noblurB doesn't work with patch 1.02. -

It works with me. Changing HDRPrecision to 32 I don't have any blur at game startup anymore. Thanks MadDogX. Now what HDRPrecison controls? -
Besides the issue described in http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/2196 I've nothing more to report.

In spite of having the same problem I think this was a really good patch. I see great improvements in terms of game fluidity. The game is now much more smooth in my PC. Thanks.

von_paulus replied to EricM's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Most of the reviewers could see behind the bugs and see that ARMA II has a lot of potential and with the bugs solved will be something really different that we are used nowadays, and praised BIS work. Whilst the Czech Tiscali and some german reviewers could only see bugs and bugs. -

I've discovered also if I press ALT-TAB and exit game to desktop and then press ALT-TAB again and exit desktop to game the blur disappears. With Blur: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/8449/arma2blur.jpg Without Blur: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/3550/arma2withoutblur.jpg
