I am one of Mando's testers for the MP version of his Missile System. Last week he was finished. However a freak storm out of no where hit his house and killed his computer and all communication devices that were on at the time. All he has left is his laptop which unfortunately doesn't run Armed Assault. It is too early to tell if his hard drive was too severely damaged. But the good news is I have one of his final beta versions for MP. So before I get off track let me answer some of the questions about the missile system. You have BIS missiles (which are stock) and you have Mando Missiles (which are custom). It has support for the mission writer to change the parameters of the Mando Missiles including the damage which was one question. My focus was the chaff/flare system. Yes the Mando Missiles System has it. It has support to allow the mission writer to set for automatic deployment (recommended for Helos) and manual deployment with a key press (recommended for fixed-wing). The chaff/flare system has limited stores. So Ammo Trucks are required to reload these stores. Ammo trucks to reload Mando Missiles are completed. Reloading Chaff/Flares are almost done. The automatic SAM sites are cool and working as well. The Bells and Whistles were completed but thanks to the lighting storm Mandoble has to re-add them after he replaces his computer. Sadly this means approximately 2-3 weeks delay. Unless someone donates a computer to him in Spain until he gets a replacement. RTS rocks!! I'm looking forward to more enhancements!!

So I have a question for SUMA or anyone else that feel extremely confident in their answer. Can I assume the following recommended calculations? MaxMsgSend = ? MinBandwidth = 75% of Upstream (in bps) So in other words instead if we have a server with an Upstream of 2048 Kbps (2,048,000 bps) then BIS recommends the following? MaxMsgSend = ?; MinBandwidth = 1536000; Is this a correct assumption? What formula can we use to set the MaxMsgSend??

I do not know if these mission writers have used FSM Edit but they have an FSM file in use in their very cool RTS mission http://granq.se/content/view/70/91 The kte_EOD.FSM gives AI the ability to search from mines nearby and disarm them. We need more examples such as these to inspire us.

Great work!

FYI - I played on a server that had 85 players on it. It was using the seemingly popular Bezerk Missions and although I had some D'sync I can say I had no lag. We played for about 1.5 hours before I had to leave. It was great.

Rearm air vehicles with truck?

These scripts you wrote are absolutely awesome. What a great service to the community. Thanks for sharing! Can this (the rearm part of this) wonderful script be adapted to a mobile ammo truck? It would suck to have tanks and mobile AA have to return to a repair pad just to rearm. Thoughts? -
I used comcast.net and I get a reply in 4 business hours when I sent my email Tuesday.

Wow. I did not know this about gogamer.com From what link did you order from the UK. I have friends in Canada.

Mapfact releases: AH-64A and CH-47D
vipermaul replied to raedor's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Why would you want a Havoc when there's a Hokum? Why do people always request more in addon release threads? Why can't you be satisfied with the hand for now, leave the arm for later eh Anyway, what's really needed is a Hind. Nice job Mapfact, although the Chinook, as well as having the already known bugs, looks really ugly compared to everything else in ArmA, but that's nothing you did. Thanks for the Apache What I'm really looking for is a two-seated russian attack helo. An Mi-24 Hind would be great for this as well. Again GREAT JOB on the Apache -

Excellent. Now if we can get someone to create the Havoc to balance things out, then we can use this excellent piece of work in the two Team v Team tournaments that are out there. -
dis-regard post. I'm glad there is a fix already.

Ok what this community needs is someone to host a 100+ stress test night. Give a minimum of 5-7 day notice. So everyone can plan to be there. Create a mission CTF or CTI mission that allows 50-60 slots each side. We may need two different days if you can manage it. I am not satisfied with people saying awesome 60 man servers when the announced goal was 100+ at least. Thoughts? Any daring admins want to promote their server? This will be a great service to the community.

I think it was a SUMA post that said LAN games in 1.04 or earlier still attempt to contact the GameSpy Servers. And that this should be fixed in a future patch... possibly v1.05. So perhaps when v1.05 comes out this won't be a problem since I am almost sure it is the GameSpy Servers that do the CD key checks. I'll add hopefully here.

It seems like my head moves when I turn the vehicle regardless of which control I use. Mouse or Keyboard. This seems very different from other games. Takes getting used to or a design change. Is there any option I can prevent that?

I do not know why guys are waiting for the NA release when that is in May, 2 months away. If you are excited about the game the UK English Release is all you need. Here is a US Based Company shipping to North America. I got mine 2 days after ordering. www.gogamer.com Also

How to play CZ/GER version completely in English
vipermaul replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Looks like at least one other person has had the same problem. But this lacks exact error messages or behavior details to do a proper investigation. Perhaps Sicboy this is what you are needing. http://trac.6thsense.eu:800/arma/trac/ticket/16 Sickboy have you heard of successful runs on Vista? Sorry I do not have any details to add personally... -

Sorry. I normally research this but I am running out of town right now. A friend a mine had a problem with the language patcher on Vista with the German release of the game v1.02. Is your language patcher compatible with Visa?? I will send him to this thread for your replies. Thanks. ViperMaul -
Ok I understand. There are two big organized CTI tournaments that have been formed and can really use this tool as I am sure all others. Thank you for keeping it on your list of priorities. I know it will get a good beta test by many. -ViperMaul

No we didn't, I was skimming the release notes and I didn't find anything that mentioned MP fixes so I never tried It. Sorry if I misread something. Skimming is always dangerous. I'm excited! We'll try it!

Kronzky, Great script! A few of us are still waiting for the ability to use this in MP on a dedicated server. ETA on a version that will fully support this?

Yeah, anything that hooks tends to die with upgrades. I can get us the data out just can't release anything that injects the data. I will finish up an application that does not hook into the exe or modify it in anyway but will provide all the information that we need. If someone can give me some ideas on what they want i will try to add it into the exe. Here are some of the things that i have somewhat working. 1. Chat logs (Global, Side). Working on vehicle and group. 2. PublicVariable (Any type) 3. Player Joins (Username, Uid -- Might remove this if it is an issue for people but the server logs have it also) 4. Current Mission 5. Players, scores. Things i can get working but have not yet 1. Object locations (player, vehicles, AI Units) 2. Object Names 3. Object damage 4. Network Thruput (total sent, current-- Kinda working) 5. Player history 6. Server information requests (gamespy hits?) I did find out a way to crash the client connected to the server last night. So i guess we could in effect ban the idiots who are running the admin war scripts on the servers. I know i am going to use it to knock their clients out. Sick of watching people connect and sending an admin command over and over trying to find a password. We never know though, they might do something with the next patch. That is not to far away so i guess we can see what that holds. Any updates on this tool's availability?

I guess this is not possible "in-game"?

I think there was a tool to read this file in OFP. Is there a tool to read Objects.sav file in Armed Assault?

ATARI has their own digital download service. ATARI is usually good at publishing games. Let's see what they come up with. God knows they have plenty of time LOL. May 2007. Feels like 2.5 years away. Instead of 2.5 months.
