Okay I remember playing OFP, try to go into a server and you find you don't have the right add-ons. How about the add-ons that are cool (like the C130) but don't really work up to standards. Well how about BIS, on their ArmA main website, creates a button that says "Official Add-ons". You click this and login, members from the community can assist in moderating this. Members can view a list of all the neat little add-ons that would make ArmA a even better game. The list includes, for example, fully working C130 (working doors and ability to walk around inside), Chinook, F-16, flash bangs, etc. Creators will do their best to fit all necessities to make the add-on fully functional. Then another creator can take and edit the add-on until perfection is reached. The add-on is available to the public but under "Experimental" phase. Once it is fully tested by the community and given the go by Developers, it is given the "Official add-on" status and is submitted INTO the next patch. So everyone will have it. Only the add-ons that are asked for will be added to the updates. So to save space, add-ons from other counties won't be added to save space. I don't think people want a game that takes up 10 Gb.

This post was really directed toward the BI guys. I hope they see this and give me some feedback here.
-
So moving on........ I hope a lot of people attend so ArmA can be played the way it was ment to.
-
I think they could. Anyone can make a legal disclaimer saying that any addons submitted to BIS are allowed to be used by BIS is any way, shape, or form.
-
Anyone care to post any pros/ cons of this idea. Any BI mods want to comment?

I'm looking for some good modders that will work for free or cheap to make USM a full mod. I'm looking for something like armed assault with mabye a few other touches. There will need to be many skins made for units, weapons, and vehicles (Although some are made already) and other tweaks to the game. It should end up a game of it's own. If anyone is interested My Xfire is cptspyder and my email is Spyder001@comcast.net. Also this is somewhat time sensitive as ArmA should be released soon (lol pfffft).

Well, gee I posted a request for help, and was willing to pay people. But it seems you are all a bunch of douche bags. And WGL is cool and all but theres still some problems with it. And it would be realeased to the public. You kids really need to grow up and stop flamming on forums. Go and find something else to do with your time that is constructive. I would bet that 20 people are going to post on this topic, but I only check it mabye once a week. They are going to talk shit cause they are over the internet.

Ha, the M1A1 has never been knocked out in battle. The tank is superior to all other tanks. It can withstand direct hit from other M1A1s, even if it's with a sabot round. It can take hits from the rear by an M1A1, which would knock it out but not explode. It can fire going max speed with pinpoint accuracy. It doesn't matter what tank you have or even how many, the M1A1 can engage at a distance of 2 miles. They only way to kill it, because its a game, is if some n00b is driving around and you get behind him.

Gosh i cant wait for the demo...

USM is now recruiting for ArmA. You read some of these other clan posts where they talk about squad movments and what they have to offer. Here is what USM has to offer. - Server box that will host ArmA Servers. - Real training from REAL x-soliders - USM has 2 X-Army and one currently serving in Iraq. - USM also had one X Marine who showed us a few things. - Teamspeak, website, and fun times. Have an extra 15 minutes to read out training list? http://www.usmsquad.com/USM%20Training.txt USM is broken off into 4 divisions. - 75th Ranger Regiment - SEAL Team Three - 2nd Armored Division - 1st Air Calvary Each Division has their own job and is equally important. We are looking to get very big before the ArmA Full release comes out. Here is what we want from our recruits: - Maturity - Respect - Enjoying learning tactics and using them - Interest in taking ArmA seriously - Showing up as much as they can - Respect ranks - Are in TS and Xfire as much as possible A few other notes: - USM uses US Army and Navy ranks to show who is in charge. - We train on US Army, Marine, Navy SEAL, and Armored tank tactics. - Our ranks are intergrated, so no one is sitting and watching. - Promotions are given out every month, to our 3 players of the month. - USM has been going for 3 years. Our Contact info: I could go more in depth about USM, but just come check us out for yourselves. www.usmsquad.com TS @ 72.21.53.114:8767 Or hit me up with an Xfire messege, my name is cptspyder Thanks, COL Spyder USM Commander

Actaully I said I was trained by "Former US Army and Marine Soldiers". In no way did I try to sound smug. I don't see what my rank has to do with anything. I am not claiming any title besides a leader of a team. You need to read further into a post, don't skim them. Mabye your english is a bit off and you couldn't comprehend what I was saying. I would never try to pass off as former military, as I haven't earned it and have to much respect for the military. Now, this is a recruiting thread, as as this arguement is over, I don't see why you would think to post back here. Seems rather immature to me, like you want the last laugh. So to you, and anyone else, only post he if you with to join USM or want more information. Or, if you would like to wish us luck, like th guys at 4thib. And dockery, the only problem caused was the people who posted here starting one.

Ukraineboy drop it, just look at the dancing bananas, they made me smile .

Wel,, thats nice and all but I really don't understand why people are posting in this thread about unrelated topics, agian turning it into a flame fest. Now, thats great you served your country. As for the not reading the flight manual thing, that doesn't apply. I was trained, though not officially, by US Army and Marine personel. Those men continue to train the USM recruits. I have had alot of practice at them, and leading them. Someday soon, it will be in real life, but not just yet as I'm too young. And age has nothing to do with maturity, so if you could keep those comments to yourself, as you know nothing about how, and where I grew up.

lol, i'm not talking about that. I'm talking about having to go to a website, looking for the damn thing, then having to download it. It wouldn't take that long but it would be a hassle. I jjust said it would be better if it was a server side mod.
-
I never acted like I know-it-all. The next sentance after that is if you pay attention, everyone can learn them. And as for the over serious clan, Kernriver, we have fun while doing it. Have you ever been in the military, looks like all your time is spent trying to knock people down over the internet, ....next. Now ZiiP, i understand it's not going to well for you in reality mod but if you contine to try to recruit in the thread I start which is rather childish, then we will be forced to match you, want another loss on your list. We have had problems with your members behavior in servers before, ....next. And to the guy from 4thib, thanks bud best of luck to you as well.
-
You may think that, but YOU came across as the dick in that PM". These forums are not for childish flame fests please keep this topic around what has beed talked about.
-
Yeah, well like someone said, customizable formations would be tight. The only problem would be having to download something. I hope it just auto downloads or is set so its just a server-side mod. But the US does focus on tactics and marksmenship alot. I can't speak for the British because I haven't looked at any of their doctorines nor do I know any british soldiers. I can say the the US values training, especially special forces. US Navy SEALs have the toughest military training in the world and work in 2-16 man teams.
-
Yes, he PMed me saying I was an arrogent prick. And of course you still neeed to show how im beiing arrogent. As, I said, I'm expressing my opinions, I haven't knocked anyone down. Except someone whose only motive posting was to make fun of what I said. USM is a very professional team who doesn't take crap from anyone. We back up our loyal members and have high morale standards for game play.
-
Would custom formations require people to download something, that wouldn't be cool.
-
If I insulted anyone one in anyway, shape, or form, or knocked anyone country down, which I would never try to do, sorry. i just posted what I wanted and was hopeing for a good discussion. Of course, like all debates it turns into a flaming fest. Oh, and yes, the word "other" is a word that doesn't apply to every US citizen nor the majority even. And, to ryankaplan, thanks bud. You actually read what I said. I won't go into you saying th brits were better though. (Don't start another argument Spyder) So we will have to agree to disagree on who is better trained.
-
Could you please direct me to it, unless your talking about the one in the OFP forums.
-
Speak for my countrymen?!?, kid did I say what every person in the US wants, no I said what "other" US Citizens want (Refering to only the people I know). It's like no one actually takes the time to read. Please, read, think, then respond. And I understand that not just US people play, but hey, I don't want to be killed by some AI because I'm wanting to to do one thing then they do something else. Like not watching a sector when they need to be. Besides there IS going to be US forces and US weapons. And the high horse thing doesn't apply, i'm not gloating....
-
Actually, he doesn't tell me what to write, Hes waiting for his registration to be approved. Yes, every country has different tactics, and to the kid who laughed because i said the US was good, I'm sure sitting behind your computer and laughing is easy, but lets look at how fast we took Iraq. Now, I'd like you to look at the part about me saying "I was taught by...", the look at what you said attemting to make fun of me. You said I was a know-it-all. Now seeing as he and other military personel continue to train me, I don't think it was a valid response. Now as I said, this game is US based, so in order to be realistic, there needs to be US Tactics. Now, if a modder is a russian solider, then he can inplement russian tactics. I started this post with a friendly, this is what I and other US citizens want. I would also like to know who took over the United States. Because I'm pretty sure we started as a colony and then after we won our independence, we became the US. Now tell me who invaded us after that and took us over... Right, now where do you get the information about 300 million russians trying to take over your country. I belive that was the number of people that lived in Russia at the time. And as for my training, it was done by US personel. They went through official training on infantry tactics and tank tactics. Please post something now, I enjoy knocking everyone of your comments down, it take me longer to understand what your trying to say than it does for me to type this out. Oh, and as for calling me an ametur, we will see when USM rolls you and your friends over in ArmA, be prepared.

I don't think IED should be added into the game. Many game like this are bought by terrorists for "training" purposes. So yes it's just another instument of war, but this is a war game, not a terrorist training program. Even if they pick up on some of the tactics the US uses, it wont matter. In real life terrorists have no actual training on them, theres more than just where your placed. But with IED you can practice how to place them so drivers wont notice, and good ways to approch convoys.

I hope there are deer and ducks, we can have hunting events lol. Then you can interact with the dogs to go retrive it. I think the coolest thing is civilians, it'll be pretty neat setting up checkpoints. Your have to stop them, seach their vehicle, or tell them to turn around.
