  1. Yeah i started to get these too lately, after update 1.46.131127(or from previous, had a break from arma and did not play much using the previous version). No hardware has changed on my pc, drivers up-to-date.

    GTX 680 here.

  2. Oh and one more thing which I'm sure would be appreciated:

    Making the container on the "HEMTT Box" and the device on "Tempest (Device)" hideable components would effectively give us two flatbed trucks to haul the helicopter pods or any other cargo around.

    This would be very much appreciated. I already see myself transporting a broken vehicle back to base for repairs with attachTo. Or ammo crates from base to a FARP. Slingloading is not always an option when enemies have effective AA.

  3. Heyho,

    the new revive is somewhat different from current revives (as far as I know). It will attach a "Hit" eventhandler to the players, captures there damages and prevents them from a fatal hit. Instead the players will get unconscious.

    First I tried a insurgency-style revive with first person camera and animation. Even slow crawling into cover was possible. The drawback: If you are unconscious and have a FAK, you could break from the unconscious animation (what makes you an invulnerable soldier).

    I think removing FAKs etc via script from a unconscious player is not a good style of code. I can't find a solution to completely disable the action menu (if someone knows a solution, just tell me :D ).

    My second approach is a camerascript: Watching your own body and maybe following other players, while you are unconscious.

    I just started writing the camera script, the rest of my old script can be used here.

    But I still really likes the crawling while wounded thing.

    Would these commands be of any help? The first one adds a cinematic border and disables the action menu but still allows movement. The second returns business as usual.

    [0,0,false] spawn BIS_fnc_cinemaBorder;
    [1,nil,false] spawn BIS_fnc_cinemaBorder;

  4. Does anyone else feel like the flow of time has slowed down since the announcement? I know it should be impossible, but still...

    What time on March 5 does the game go live?

    Has that been answered yet?

    And will the Patria AMV or its variants be in the Alpha?

  5. What is this?

    "I guess darkness serves a purpose: to show us that there is redemption through chaos. I believe in it. I think that is the basis of Greek mythology."

    * ah too late :) But this site most likely is a reddit joke or something

  6. As someone noted before, Steam uses about 10-16MBs of RAM when minimized, which is nothing to worry about. If you're worried about the Steam overlay affecting your in-game performance (which it doesn't, in my experience) you can deactivate that.

    That was me. And now after monitoring the memory usage for a while(uhh about 1 hour), it has climbed to 56 MB. I dont remember though seeing it use much more than that in the past.

    Opening Games Collection window(opening or closing just the smaller Friends list does not seem to have this effect) and minimizing again seems to drop it to around 8 - 12 MB from where it slowly starts to climb again.

  7. Maybe Dwarden or someone else could make a sticky covering most if not all the concerns about Steam & questions about the integration people have pointed out here

    and in the dev blog & reveals -thread?

    *** Ah Dwarden already sort of did that while i was writing this short novel.

    Personally im just happy its Steam and not Games For Windows Live or Origins. I have tried both of those and oh boy they are bad. From these, Steam is the lesser evil ;)

    I have retail/BI Store versions of ALL the BIS games(+ 2 copies of OFP and ARMA2:CO), and i am not really a Steam fanboy but not a hater either.

    I have Steam running in the background always. I have used it since 2004. And it really sucked back then, but it has gotten much better.

    About Steam ram usage:

    When fully minimized to tray: around 10-16 MB (sometimes climbs to around 37 MB)

    Store window open: 50-60 MB (lots of images there)

    Game collection window open: 20-25 MB

    Personally i cant say anything about Steam Workshop since i have yet to use it, in the case of Skyrim i have always used the Skyrim Nexus website instead (and lately their downloader which is a bit like SixUpdater).

    Maybe i own or play the wrong games, but when Steam has lost connection to its servers, i have yet lost connection to the mp game i have been playing at that time. Same with singleplayer games.

    About reselling games: I think i have read that Valve is working on that. But who in their right mind would want to resell their copy of Arma?

  8. Most likely the "certain restrictions" might mean for having names for the important characters only (from campaign), maybe with a few extra common first names (Steve, Bob etc) or typical (silly) nicknames (Psycho, Rock, Mad Mike, Hammer etc) for players to use in their own missions.

    (Also, damn i had completely missed that it was mentioned in ARMA 3 development blog & reveals -thread already)
