i guess you have to wait 3-12 months for the next (upcoming?) 2-3 patches to find out that its NOT FIXED. sorry, im out of optimism with this game

why so low FPS for ati users still on 1.08?!!!!!&#
TheVoodoo replied to dragunov90's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Get rid of this piece of crappy Arma Engine Code, and tell the dev they have to get it running right! 8 months are over since the game has been released and all i get is BSOD, system freezes, error messages like "cannot create memory surface blabla" and stupid anti-vista-noob posts in troubleshooting forums and a fucking gamesupport from dev's cause they need 3months to release patches and make it just worse. -
I get problems only with AA...Nothing else ! You may be right, but why does AA work with other nvidia cards and why don't they make anything to resolve this problem? I'm so sad... You're right! Only AA making trouble like hell! Everything else runs PERFECT on my system! I cant belive that the dev's cant get this shit running right since its out!

	NOPE
 -
one more thing you could try is to start Arma with following parameter: arma.exe -wthamistillplayingarma=dontknow sorry could not resist. arma pissed me off like no game did before!
 -
just wanted to add that everyone who says "aero theme slows down the system" doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Aero is a GPU supported, 3D accelerated userinterface that usually speeds up the system if you own a considerable gfx card.

I had the same problem... i solved it this way: I stick with vista, don't care anymore about ArmA, wait to grab a nextgen Game with better performance and support... BTW: Any other Game works PERFECT with Vista and ArmA did also till 1.05 arrived. Maybe i check back in 1 year if it runs smooth on a Quadcore CPU with 4GHz, GF 9850GX2 1024MB DDR3 VRAM, 3GB Ram (the rest of the 8GB are deactivated due x64 issues), Soundblaster X-Fi 2 and WindowsXP (=> ??LOL??)

great, but can you provide screenshots with the difference between '6star' and 'streak glow'? i also would like to know what the seafoam textur changes... i havent noticed it ingame. -
	*agree*

We're hosting a 40slot Arma server. Is there any way to administrate it outside of the main game? Cause there is NO WAY to log in as admin when its full => 40/40 example: If me or any other communitymember want's to join on our own server when its full we are not able to connect as admin and kick for members. Seriously, it can't be the only way to shut the whole server application down and restart it to do that?!??!? Is there no servercommandlineconsole?
 -
Well, maybe a server boycott could make them listening... once we did it for bf2 to send out our message
 -
hi, nice to see new 1.06 videos... some questions and video requests: Are the Harrier and SU HUD's redone? Are running playeranimations interrupted on death? => switch to AT4 while get shot
 -
use the "lean" buttons when prone.

				Hand Glitches Through UnderslungGrenade Launcher
TheVoodoo replied to OkitaMakoto's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
well, i've already reported it as bug on bugtracker some time ago. I'm also annoyed by it, so your not alone. http://bugs.armed-assault.net/view.php?id=1869 vote for it and leave a comment if you want I agree with "ArmA has some other problems that need to be fixed first" but truly said its a work for about 3 minutes to fix it (if someone who knows what to do, will do it.) -
I never had problems with the current movement system. And truly said, im afraid that they could mess it up by trying to improve it!
 -
=> Intel E6600 C2D @ 3.6GHz hum, you've overclocked your cpu +1.2GHz?!? holly shit... im running an E6600 too... never tried to go above 2.88GHz whats your FSB set to?!? well, im running arma at the native resolution of my 22" widescreenmonitor @ 1680x1050 maybe this makes the major difference... My system: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 ASUS P5B Deluxe (Intel P965 Chipset) Point of View GeForce 8800GTX 768MB DDR3-RAM 4x Corsair 1024MB XMS2 800MHz Dual-Channel DDR2-RAM (4096 MB)

300-400MB compressed with a good codec should be sufficient
 -
ähm, however... i cannot believe that some ppl with 8xFSAA, 10000m Viewdistance and all settings at Veryhigh are having a lot more then 20fps. maybe in the desert or above the ocean. i will believe if someone hosts a HD Video with all that settings mentioned. best ingame position for test: on the highest mountain in south sharani, looking around. If you go with AA enabled to a bush/tree the FPS will drop to 10 for sure!
 -
great news, they're looking awesome. well, next i hope to see a FLIR Gunner View in helis
 -
And? You're having fun playing ArmA with 16-25fps? Don't forget that the set Viewdistance doesn't affect the Multiplayer viewdistance. It's set by the mission or the server.
 -
also try to start arma.exe with the parameters -maxmem=512 and btw there is a beta patch out, maybe you can solve the problem with it. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=60837
 -
i also hope the hud will be improved in future versions. the hud should also completely replace the "crosshair" in airvehicles cause its confusing to see a working hud and elsewhere a dot-corsshair! The gundirection in harrier should be synchron with hud.
 -
Just great....so the new patch wont fix this problem either i guess. Thats quite disappointing. I thought this bug would be high on the "to fix" list. yeah, very bad news what exactly have they changed in 1.05?!? I never had those problems with 1.02! It cant be so hard to fix this problem when it worked prior!
 -
ok once more, im a vista user with a 8800gtx: -) The cannot create system memory surface ist still present, may be a nvidia issue. you can workaround by adding the startupparameter arma.exe -maxmem=512 -) the binocular handling has been improved, no longer neverending animation for it. but i dont know if they have removed the animation completely that noone can see that you're watching through them, or if they have speed up the animation. -) no new nvg improvements and no a10 -) mouseaiming feels laggy -) imo a little noticeable performance boost. -) same crappy audiofiles for weapons, but thx that for the final game is already the fdf_soundmod out.
