I've had the X1950Pro too and well pleased with it. I don't think it is the gfx card that is the issue with ArmA but could be more processor dependant. Only a few slow downs for me but only happens the more AI there are...

Try the default mission 1st one and place some mines on the road, watch what trigger them... trucks I believe and anything else that drives over them.

I understand that this may be more of an Intel system problem now rather than AMD, I may be wrong. i.e. It is visible in Intel systems more so than AMD systems.
-
huh ? Where are you getting this file from as all the beta patch everyone else has is 1.05.5143.
-
1.05.5143 PUBLIC BETA VERSION is not installed..

I used to DJ on WeedFM and PPFM which was fun, whats the server max bandwidth ? i.e. users @ 128bit -
1 Picture (again not in game but a render) vs full game errr, my money is with the released game. I will stop playing ArmA when I get bored with it like all other games. Simple.
-
Do some research ! The 2nd 'DX10' picture is an artists impression that was released months ago to give an 'idea' or what DX10 may look like with FX10.

Sure then you remove the NVIDIA The Way It’s Meant To Be Played badge from the demo then that is not my doing. Maybe Atari are not publishing it either ?
-
To be honest if people DO NOT complain to ATI then it will not be on the fix list. They respond to customer preasure. Why bother with a game if all its customers are not bitching about it ? I have put my complaint in, I suggest if we want this fixed everyone should take the time to file the bug. tbh, this 'issue' hasn't effected me as far as I can tell but hey, if its known its know.
-
Plus this is an Nvidia sponsered game so...

In other forums I see ppl complaining about the gun movement lag, I guess this is intentional as the head moves faster etc. but it may be best that the official word on it and state its not a 'bug' ?
-
Yeah a couple of major things jump out and will take a little time to adjust to: Gun movement lag, now the crosshair (if enabled) moves to the location normally but the weapon seems to trail behind, I havent really tested but it appears not to effect shooting although I could be wrong. Choppers are now pretty simple to fly compared to when you first picked em up although that could just be in game experience now.

Thx for checking Baddo. Going to d/l and try, what was the release date for the US version ? I would guess the patch for the rest of the world would come out round about the same time or before so we can bug test it
-
Worth downloading a demo when we have the full game ? I'm sure the patch will soon follow including all these fixes. Remember the demo is a cut down version of the full so I would guess less to cache ?
-
Just to add, I have a X1950Pro and not had any crashes for days now. Lockups / reboots on my system happened in most game I think due to the mobo which has since been replaced, guess I'm the lucky one ?

I created a Windows shortcut which works so if you are able to change the path of the executible but retain the 'start in' part then it should work. As follows: TARGET: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -maxmem=512 -mod=FDF_Sounds;beta -nosplash START IN: "C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA" The batch file just does this (apart from the FDF_Sounds part ) I guess it is just a tweak ? Note: The maxmem and first additional mod needs to go BEFORE the ;beta or it doesn't appear to work. Hope that helps.

Just a note on the 6.7 drivers. Using these drivers with your X1950 card will remove some of the functionality of the card and doing this can and does effect other games (as if anyone here plays anything else! so just be aware if you start having weird problems graphically with other titles then this will be the reason.
-
You may be able to run the beta patch but it doesn't then join the server you selected so it is just like clikcing the batch file which erm I may aswell click the batchfile. Thanks anyways, i'm sure it will work with the real version.
-
Hopefully try tonight but has it been tested with the beta patch ? As the environment needs to start in the main ArmA directory and the exe in the beta mod directory as per batch file command string. Will test later and let you know.
-
How can I get this to use the beta mod ? I have tried additional parameters -mod=beta; or beta or mod=beta but it doesn't work so I gave up. Good little app though will be better once patch official.
-
Why go for a 1650 ? 1950 is a better card and not much more either. As per previous post I changed processor and now run the game smoothly, some very minor slow downs in heavby firefights.

Just upgraded my mobo from an Athlon XP 3000+ 32Bit 2.2Ghz to an Athlon XP 4000+ 64Bit 2.4 Ghz and the change is great, I now get barely any popups with textures, running smooth and very happy with the beta patch. Going to increase some level of detail later to see how far I can push it without effecting performance. AMD Athlon64-4000+ / X1950Pro / 2Gb DDR / WinXP
